About Podcasts
A podcast is like a radio internet show that you listen to on your computer or you download to listen to later, put on your mp3 player, burn to a CD or just have to take up harddrive space. You can get our mp3’s two ways:
- Check our site periodically and listen directly from the shownotes or download the mp3 by right clicking and “save target as”
- Use a feed aggregator to have it automatically check the feed and alert you and, if you set it to, have it download new episodes automatically. Like most “web 2.0 sites”, we have a feed address (http://brilliantgameologists.com/feed) that a podcatcher or aggregator will take and automatically update. If you listen to a few podcasts or read a few blogs or online comics, there are a few tools we suggest:
- Ziepod is great for collecting your podcasts. Cute and functional! http://www.ziepod.com/
- Google Reader is great to collect text plus podcasts. Not the nicest looking, but extremely functional and you can play podcasts right from google reader. www.google.com/reader/
- itunes is what most everyone uses. We refuse to give in and want to be different like all the other different people, but if you’ve been suckered, note that we are listed under the WRONG feed address! Subscribe to us based on the listing you searched for and you won’t get updates! Please instead just enter the feed address manually: http://brilliantgameologists.com/feed
