BG-403-Extreme Closeup

May 18, 2012 By: Meg Category: Season 4, Sodes, Thematic Comments Off on BG-403-Extreme Closeup

Have you taken the survey yet? And did you put in complementary comments about us? I mean come on, who else talks about porn like this?

http://rpgpolls.com/fill/survey/2012-RPG-Podcast-Listener-Survey

Summary:

Choosing an RPG is like choosing your porn. We talk about porn, play some in the background, and read a little. Probably unsafe-er for work than normal.

Segments Include:

People have died
  • Junior Seau

    Mooned

    I suspect the Mooninites

  • Kurt Cobain, still dead
  • Adam Yauch
So…
Corrections
  • Strawmen
  • Other stuff
Why are we mature?
  • 6 fart jokes and a dick reference
  • Milk toast definition for others who don’t know what it is (edit from Josh: That’s quite the eggcorn but it is milquetoast)
  • Going there to go there? Or just there naturally?
  • How mature do your games go without even trying?

Taste in RPGs is like your taste in Porn

Rawr!!

  • Listen along as we experience each other’s porn choices
  • Zeke is predictable
  • Meg likes to imagine really doing it
  • Josh is a weird mofo
Avengers
  • Meg screws with people who haven’t seen Cabin in the Woods

Sode #25: Horror Tropes (Setting 05)

October 27, 2008 By: Meg Category: Season 2, Sodes, Thematic Comments Off on Sode #25: Horror Tropes (Setting 05)

Note:

In celebration of our second “quarter” we are changing the format very slightly of the shows. Can you spot the difference?

Warm-Up:

Each time we record, we watch a video or find a picture to get us in the mood for the episode. It doesn’t always have anything to do with the episode, but frames our minds, so we’re going to share so you can be appropriately framed as well.

Our Fears

  • Whale captured on video –Meg admits to her paranoia of whales. This video she had to watch through her fingers.
  • Oarfish– They just shouldn’t be. Freaky.
  • Parasites- Josh. He’s infected.
  • Zombies- Zeke. He’s prepared, are you?

1. Cthulhonic

2. The Undead

3. The Siren

4. Sidhe

5. Nature

6. Technological

7. Madness

8. Odd

9. Primal Horror

Bonus!

  • We each list our scariest creatures that weren’t mentioned.

Reminders-

We put show updates and random goodies on Meg’s Twitter. Don’t miss out!

Sode #11: Grit (Setting 003)

May 04, 2008 By: Meg Category: Season 2, Sodes, Thematic 6 Comments →

The subtitle of this episode should be “Trope on a Rope”. We go into tropes of grit, examples of grit and how to insert and inflict grit into your game design.

The follow up title should be “The Episode That Was Totally Cursed”. Several crashes meant a lot of this episode was lost several times. The re-records will do, but man did we have some funny shit the first time around. It also crashed during editing. At least it’s appropriate that the game on grit was tough, brought us to our wit’s end, and was truly just about survival.

The audio on this one is different than others too– we recorded in mono instead of stereo as an experiment requested from our Audio Engineer. I also “levelated” it afterwards, so please provide feedback!
