As you get within 60 feet of them, you see two bugbears. Both are wearing chain shrits. One has a spiked chain and a bunch of javelins, and the other has a morningstar, javelins, and a shield. The one with the chain is in V 3 and the one with the morningstar and shield is in V 4.

Grizz decides not to charge in full-steam, but makes sure to take an offensive position to protect his allies. He moves to T3, and remains in the Iron Guard's Glare stance.

The bugbear with the shield steps back to W 4 and throws a javelin at Grizz -> d20 + 5 = 23, and hits for 1d6 + 2 = 4 damage.
The bugbear with the spiked chain takes a five-foot step to U 3 and attacks Grizz -> d20 + 4 = 9, and misses.

Move forward to L3 (move action) then throw my everburning torch forward (Standard??) [using a club as my basis I would say I could toss it a max of 50' so I would aim for 30' ahead of me (R3) let me know if this sounds unreasonable to you]
ooc: I figure Aepa can't see them clearly yet as he doesn't have dark or low light vision. So he is trying to get some light down there to see, if he still can't see them then he would pick it up and repeat.

Yeah, the torch thing will work. The Yellow areas on the map show what is illuminated and what is shadowy illumination (20% miss chance). The white squares are dark. Modified Initiative:MapRound 2!Thorden! You're up!

The bugbear with a chain takes a swing at Thorden as he leaves S 4 -> d20 + 4 - 4 = 12, and misses!
As Thorden closes the gap to the other bugbear, his attack misses.
Serias! You're up!
Edit: Thorden takes no damage.

The bugbears and Thorden all find ice under them and roll Reflex saves (assuming DC 14. Is that right?):
Thorden -> d20 + 2 = 4
Bugbear 1 -> d20 + 4 = 14
Bugbear 2 -> d20 + 4 = 6
Thorden and the bugbear with the morningstar fall down. The bugbear with the spiked chain remains standing.
Grizz! You're up!

Bugbear 2 (prone) stands up, provoking an AoO from Thorden -> d20 + 2 - 4 (prone) = 7, and the bugbear stands up! The bugbear then attempts to move off of the ice with a Balance check -> d20 + 1 = 12, and he moves 15 feet back to Z 4, drawing a javelin while moving.
Bugbear 1 attempts to smack Grizz with the chian -> d20 + 4 = 7, but misses.

shouldn't that be +4 for the AoO Robby (actually -4 to AC)? Thorden has to be using a melee weapon to make the AoO and melee gets a bonus vs prone. Prone The character is on the ground. An attacker who is prone has a -4 penalty on melee attack rolls and cannot use a ranged weapon (except for a crossbow). A defender who is prone gains a +4 bonus to Armor Class against ranged attacks, but takes a -4 penalty to AC against melee attacks.
Standing up is a move-equivalent action that provokes an attack of opportunity.
