i correct myself. the amount of content is ~2.8gb. i'd forgotten how much it has expanded over the years.
i suppose that i should throw in my archive of the dragondex as well.
the content includes pretty much every web article ever published by wotc on 3.5, plus all of the maps, all of the archived materials, the forgotten realms stuff, the eberron stuff, the greyhawk stuff, even some of the miniatures stuff.
i've been collecting them steadily since 2001 or so.
Sounds like something which would require a torrent.

one of the download sites opened up premium user accounts for free for a period, which i took advantage of, i'll see if i can get it up that way; otherwise, i'll make a torrent out of it.

You can do a raw rip of the links in A guide to free D&D with DownThemAll pretty easily. Just right click > "DownThemAll!..." > shift click all the www.wizards.com links to highlight them > press space to select them > clear the Renaming Mask (click and then backspace) > click the Renaming mask tag icon > and select "* text* Link Description > choose your folder > and Start. It's not pretty, but it works well enough.

thank you for the many emails and pms. i decided to clean it up a bit. mostly, i noticed that there was an odd format that most might not be able to read, so i converted all the ones i could find to a more common format. i'll try to have it online and available by this weekend.

Sweet! Please, if there's anything we can do, let us know. I'd offer hosting myself, but mine just went down and I'm in the process of replacing it ..

Perception change. Antimagic: A spell's magical effects become nonfunctional within an area of antimagic, such as an antimagic field. When a spell is aimed into an area of antimagic from somewhere outside the area, the antimagic blocks line of effect for the spell and the spell most likely fails. If the spell doesn't produce any sort of visible display or manifestation that the caster (or other witness to the event) can perceive, then there's no clue as to why the spell failed or even that it has failed. If the blocked spell has a target entry, however, the caster will not note any failed or successful saving throws in response to the spell (see Part Two) and that in itself might alert the caster to something amiss.
If the spell's effects are visible (for example, a lightning bolt or magic missile spell -- at least when I'm the DM), the spell's visible effects stop where they meet the area of antimagic. Anyone who sees the spell being blocked can attempt a DC 26 Spellcraft check to realize that antimagic has blocked the spell.
When a spellcaster is inside an antimagic area, any spells she casts are suppressed. Such spells don't actually fail unless their durations are instantaneous. Spells with longer durations are suppressed until the caster somehow leaves the antimagic area (though time spent within the antimagic area counts against the spell's duration). If the caster isn't aware she's in an antimagic area, handle the situation in the same way you'd handle it if the caster has aimed a spell into the antimagic area from outside. It isn't 'anti' as in no magic happens in here ever, it doesn't block spellcasting or even spells for that matter. What it does do is suppress the outcome of a spell or Su effect. Ideas of use. Hiding buffs. Are you going to see King Gaylord, your target from an assassin job, but he doesn't let anyone in if they have an aura of magic surrounding them? Cast Antimagic Field then stack some buffs on your self (or Ocular Spell up the Warblade). Laugh as detection fails and with no action on your part every buff jumps into effect when Antimagic's duration ends. Added bonus, Antimagic Field can be ended by it's caster, even if you are in it since you never really lose access to your magical abilities. Also it can be used to secure a Maw of Chaos buff while you run past civilians, if you play hero the nice way that is.

If you cast Wall of Force in an AMF, does it spring into existence since it can't be suppressed?

The theory being if they kill all pre-Essentials 4E material everyone would switch to Essentials instead of clinging on to their free material and having fun anyway. This is helped by the Insider support for 4E being one of the bigger perks of their web initiative(and also having all pre-Essentials materials purged I'd bet)
Basically they figure they can avoid the 3.0/3.5 edition war for 4E/Essentials by assassinating 4E.
We are at war with Eurasia. We have always been at war with Eurasia. Solo, you just put one helluva shiver up my spine... He made me LOL. I don't think anything a gaming company did could make make my spine shiver... unless they start assassinating their most zealous critics, or something. I'd feel really bad for Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation then. Wait, so is WotC, actually reverting back to classic style D&D? That's some F'ed up fesces right there. I thought the 4e direction was fine, and eventually the 3e players would run out of people to play with. Actually, writing this post, I realize that just this year I converted 3 new players to 3.5. So I guess Wizards might really have a large segmented base, despite 4e being really popular. Why not continue to push 4e, and just push out a "conclusion" style book for 3.5? I would love to see a PHB written with Errata that would fix major headache items (Grappling, Wizard Spells, CoDzilla, Monk, Fighter). Or maybe just start another magazine like Dragon that pushes more 3.5 content? I didn't think ... anything ... would notice the Eyelash I left on my kitty avatar. I'm doomed !!

If you accept WotC's written rules, yes.

update for those interested:
i found a hosting site that claims to have enough space (10gb) to store the file (~2 gb compressed with 7z) and unlimited bandwidth. we'll see how that works. it's uploading as i type this. i'll post a link here in this thread (probably tomorrow) once it is done and verified. i'll also try to send the link via email and pm to those who specifically contacted me.

"Just what do you think the moon up in the sky is? Everyone sees that big, round shiny thing and thinks there must be something round up there, right? That's just silly. The truth is much more awesome than that. You can almost never see the real Moon, and its appearance is death to humans. You can only see the Moon when it's reflected in things. And the things it reflects in, like water or glass, can all be broken, right? Since the moon you see in the sky is just being reflected in the heavens, if you tear open the heavens it's easy to break it~" -Ibuki Suika, on overkill

sigh. anyone have any suggestions here? the site i tried gave me a file upload error in the last few mb of the upload. supposedly it would accept up to 5gb at a shot, but apparently my connection is super slow on the upload side, the attempt took all last night and all today, and i'm not currently conversant on how to tweak my particular modem for great upload bandwidth.
any file sharing site recommendations from anyone? help or assistance appreciated. ^^
or i'll have to try a torrent....
