Hi, I was wondering what the best low level?  Like level 5, 6, 7 or so, with a special mention for things that come online at level 8, when she picks up Large creatures and Magical Beast forms.  A quick runthrough of the Monster Manual seems that Wolverine looks okay, but that only has climb 10 and burrow 10.  Is there anything faster?  And I don't know what 8 HD, up to Large Magical Beast (that would conceivably be on a plane of pure nature, which to me says most all magical beasts) would be best.  I'm trying to get contingencies for being thrown into the Underdark.  Faerun, if it matters.  Thanks!

Getting quality burrow via wild shape is not really easy. In particular, animals usually only burrow through lose soil/sand, not solid stone like Underdark caves.
There's a spell in SpC, lvl 2, burrow for minute/level, earth and loose rock (also a mass version, lvl 4).
There's also a lvl 1 spell, rapid burrowing, that increases existing burrow speed by 20 ft.

Well, okay, how about at level 8, when the large and planar shepherd stuff comes online? What about if the Enhance Wild Shape spell is used for Ex abilities?

Well, I chose a plane of pure nature, that isn't linked to eberron, but is fairly close thematically to Eberron's Lamannia.  I checked the books, and not many books list the specific Magical Beasts that are actually *in* the House of Nature, so I could probably get most of the Magical Beasts by my DM.  Outsiders or Elementals, on the other hand, would likely have a more restricted list... those would probably be the more animalistic breeds...

Anyway, I'm trying to find an animal or magical beast that has a burrow that's better than a normal burrow, that maybe works through some types of rocks?

Ack, a Tiamat spawn thing.  Well.. it's a magical beast, and there are likely evil magical beasts there... and if it leads the burrow, that might allow folk with normal burrow to follow with *normal* burrowing methods...
