So our party of six just finished a major leg of the campaign and received about 25k in gp and a free miracle/wish spell (our choosing).
Game Info:
We are level 9-10, playing a fairly light-hearted metagamey campaign in Faerun, and have a flying yacht.  Yeah, that's right.  That yacht is pretty much indestructible and impenetrable, so our bases our covered.

Core-only, except on a case-by-case basis.  Anything online is usually cool unless it doesn't fit (OA, DM), is too complicated for 6 players and a DM to understand and use effectively (ToM, ToB), or overpowered (DM and other notables)

I am a straight-up Factotum, based around Tripping, Fear, and Poison.  In other words, my usual build.  I'm not going to post my inventory sheet because it's about 3 pages (both sides) long.

My question is:
What should I do with 25k gp and a wish/miracle? I would prefer to improve my character's contribution to the party, but any suggestions are welcome.

Since when was Dragon Magic overpowered?  Only thing in there that's rather strong is Arcane Spellsurge.

If you can, save the Wish/Miracle.  Keep it as a "save our asses" button.

Obviously, improving your Headband of Intellect would be a smart move (no pun intended).  If you don't have one, buy one.

If using Genesis to hide your phylactry, set it at -300 degrees farenheit.  See how do-gooders fare with a liquid atmosphere.

I guess I forgot to mention that the Wish/Miracle must be used before the next session.  My bad.
(I would like to save it, but the DM has already given us a "get out of jail free" card).

Not much in DM (Dragon Magazine, not Dragon Magic) is overpowered, except for things like Half-Minotaur et al. But it's the DM's call, and I don't want to argue (imagine that).

That was a case of me misunderstanding your acronym.

Do you think it would be out of line to Wish to be immune to tripping, like a Behir?  If you can, that removes any possibility of being tripped due to a failed trip attempt.  I'm sure there are better uses, though.  I'm rather tired.

Immunity to tripping is not a bad idea.  Certainly is better than anything I've come up with.

Maybe there is a way to improve my fear effects.  I have Imperious Command and a decent Intimidate.  Is there a non-standard way to improve fear other than a +1 to fear DC's?

The DM makes you immune to tripping by making you a rock.

In my humble opinion, CO is haberdashery. Some say we're mad, but we can all agree we're hatters. Yes, we have potential to make very sophisticated hats, very fancy hats, be they dark or light. But the truth is that the color of the hat does not come from the group of us - our community doesn't directly produce hats. We simply give average head circumferences, list current fashion trends, and point out some shiny, obscure baubles to add to the latest hat line.

I'm actually going to stay pure Factotum for this build.

Being a rock= MINERAL WARRIOR!  But that would be cheesy.

Maybe ask the DM for something cool to boost poison DCs. They're a bitch to optimize.

Ask if you can wish for the Powerful Build trait that goliaths and half-giants have. It'll give you a +4 size bonus to both Trip and Intimidate among other nice benefits.

ask for:

constant Permanent Fast Healing 4 or Regeneration 2... which ever he will allow, as a Racial (EX) ability

or

Permanent alteration to body to gain Wings and Flight speed(good manuverability) = 2x land speed, as a Racial (EX) ability

or

Permanent Telepathy 100' as a Racial (EX) ability

Carnivore's solution sounds the best so far.

Wish to be able to read minds? Or if you're feeling cheesy, to be permanently changed into a Black Ethergaunt.

Be careful with that "Racial" bit.  The easiest way to get that is to BECOME a certain race.  Some of those races have icky LA!

Edit: as far as gold goes:

Would you DM allow an item that provides an Insight bonus (rather than Enhancement) to INT?  Even if you only get a +2 item out of the deal, perhaps he would later let you upgrade it to eventually be +6.

How about a wish for a never ending supply of Inspiration Points?

Neverending supply of standard actions debatably

If I were you, I'd scour the books looking for a really awesome magic item to wish into being. Since that's one of bulleted "standard" uses of a Wish, picking a magic item A) lets you get something cool and B) avoids the dangerous land of DM fiat. Heck, look for SEVERAL sweet magic items, combine their effects into one item, and then wish that thing into being.

If you want to risk a greater effect, pick a magic item and then add to your wish a way that the item can never be lost, stolen, or misplaced. Preferably an instant summoning effect.

A maximum lifespan of at least seventy billion years. Should be good unless you end up as this:

True.  Maybe just an item that grants like 5 or 10 IP's?  Seems somewhat reasonable.
