The purpose of this thread is listing possible uses of servants with focus on combat utility. This is not necessary restricted to Unseen Servant, list anything that can be done by low level skeletons, zombies, hierlings, followers etc.
* Carrying junk. * Holding Torches/lightsources. * Holding Tower Shields to protect allies. * Reloading crossbows. * Triggering traps.
* Open an object warded with Fire Trap near opponents. * Using Blessed BandageMiC, 152 on disabled allies. * Throwing Eggshell grenadesOA to blind target (not for Unseen Servant). * Reading an object inscribed with Explosive Runes in correct position (Unseen Servants can probably not do this). * Open a portable hole under opponents. * Assisting in general Shrink Item abuse. * Positioning Caltrops, Marbles, Black Sand, Fire Seeds (Holly Berry Bombs) where you want them.

Urban Battlefield Control: Shut a door once per round, forcing the opposition to waste actions opening it again and again. Cutting of the artillery turn upon turn will probably save your party some HP. Also lures them into a bottleneck if they decide to block the door from closing.
It's a low-level trick, but it is hilarious. I love creative usage of low-level spells.

the most effective optimization is the one you can actually get away with. (A group of nerds are called a murder because like crows we are anti-social, like shiny things, and often squack at each other over nothing for hours) I often have to remind people not to underrate divination. The ability to effectively metagame without actually metagaming beats the ability to set things on fire more times than not.

I had a BBEG use them as a distraction once. He had a couple of them holding swords and shields in a readied manner, looking sort of like an invisible creature with visible weapons and armor, all while the BBEG (a dragon, if it matters) hovered invisibly abut 30 feet above them. The idea was to split up the PCs with a couple of sleet storms and solid fogs on the ground behind the charging melee types, cutting off line of sight and their ability to retreat and protect the back ranks. It didn't quite go as planned, but the players appreciated the Unseen Servant part of the idea.

Mixing a MotUH and Unseen Servant seems akin to mixing Fog Cloud with Solid Fog / Incindiary Cloud etc. *note: good idea.

You can get a Legacy Item with Unseen Servant, if you make it intelligent it can carry itself around.

Create two and have them carry a long blanket or tarp between them. Can be cover, concealment, an effective barrier against a volley of ranged fire, or act as a low-level Firewall effect if you light it on fire.

Unseen Servant + Dancing Lights + Ghost Sound = Low Level Fake Lich Distraction - have the Unseen Servant carry a skull inside of a closed black cloak (or holocaust cloak), cast Dancing Lights in the eye sockets, use Ghost Sound for making threats about it's terrible magic powers
