Luckily dogs will eat pretty much anything, and I'm pretty sure that I probably don't eat.   Big Grin
You probably draw sustenance from your host. If you were stuck out in the cold without a host for long, you might have some problems, though. Big Grin

I'll just latch onto another party member.   Smirk
Yeah... reminds me of my character in Kuro's game... I started out "riding" inside another party member, without a body.

We might start this thing next week, if you guys are ready.

Eh, hard times call for hard measures.  Wink I'm not too big on alignment issues, anyway. You guys can put down whatever alignment you want. I'd just prefer it if you don't kill and/or eat each other. Tongue Otherwise, I think we'll be fine. Besides, I meant non-humanoid monsters, anyway. I don't even consider orcs monsters. They're just a different kind of people.  Big Grin

*adds cologne to inventory sheet...*

EDIT: Can someone look over both my current power list and future power list and make recommendations?  I'm not terribly experienced with Psionics, so I'd like input from fellow COers.

By the way, is it just me, or are Clairsentience powers really cool?

At a glance they look ok as long as you are planning on using them for utility. I think Catfall's usefulness will depend a lot on how the game is run or if you do a lot of climbing. Not entirely sure why you want to focus so much on the Missive line of powers. If you plan on using it for some stealthy communication then I could see that but remember it is one way so we won't be able to answer unless one of us has it too.

That is one of the few ways that psionics clearly beats arcane. Just look at the differences between the arcane and psionic versions of Clairvoyance/Clairaudience. The psionic one is so much better it makes the magic one look like a joke.

Oh, I've been meaning to ask: Phaedrus, as a (lesser) aasiamar I have 5 cold resistance, which if I remember my climate rules correctly would pretty much mitigate the whole freezing to death aspect of the world. Should we rewrite that as I just get reduced effect from the cold, or I simply don't get protection from the climate or something?

That's fine. Freezing to death doesn't have to be a risk for everyone. You'll still need to eat and drink, though, and that's about as big of a problem if you get caught outside for long enough, unless you have some way to bypass it.

Phaedrus I have a mechanics/flavor question for you. Would it be ok to swap the half-giant's "Fire Acclimated" to cold instead? I just thought about this as being much more fitting thematically, though probably weaker mechanically due to the volume of fire spells vs cold, for the setting.

Yeah, that's fine. It makes more sense, too, but don't feel obligated. Most of "civilization" is now huddled around volcanic vents and the like, after all.

I went ahead and changed it as it was much more fitting and likely useful in my mind. The +2 to saves vs fire likely won't mean very much as most have a ref save and my ref will suck pretty bad. Being accustomed to low temperatures seems more useful overall.

Let me put up some sort of backstory right now, and I'm good to go.

Isn't that a Gu'hld (i probably mangled that) from Stargate? (going google to confirm or deny)

edit: definitely mangled it: Goa'uld is proper spelling. Oh well so i missed on the question i think i know where it is from now but will let the others guess.

Nope.

Edit: Hint, Tetch is the last name of the character I stole it from.  And it fits somewhat thematically.

Phaedrus, does my dog get the same HD based bonuses that we do?  I just thought of that.

Edit part two: Fluff is up.  Once my question has been answered I'm done.

Nope. He's badassed enough without that. I probably won't give them to most NPCs, either. I'm still kind of debating if I'm going to use those for everyone and just get rid of items that provide numerical bonuses from the game world, or just say you guys (and other psionic NPCs) have them, and (at least in theory) leave the items in the game.

I would say go with option 2 and just don't let the items stack with our bonuses even if they are different types. It also makes the world more believable in that those with considerable power would shut out the only people who didn't need them and could be a threat.
