Nick, have you considered this stuff? (if Phaedrus will allow it) And is there a writeup for your custom summoner anyway?

Still need items and personality/backstory for my character.

I'm using the Pathfinder Summoner With the following changes:

1) Swap out the Summon Monster SLA with Astral Construct. It is still restricted to use when my Eidolon is not around, and it is a standard action PLA instead of the full round.
2) Spell list is swapped for a power list akin to the general Psion list + Shaper discipline access. Same number of powers known.
3) Astral Construct as a power known is given free.
4) Astral Construct works differently for Summoners. Basically its a standard action manifestation, and lasts for 1 minute per level instead of 1 round.

And lol. Guys, its a level 3 character.  Laugh

FTFY. We were going to lower the powers known, because you're getting quite a few goodies over a standard psion. I think it is worth more than the loss of bonus feats. I had originally said Wilder, but I think that's a bit too restrictive (I hate the Wilder class...). So you'll have two known at 1st, not counting Astral Construct, then learn one new power at every level after that.

I know you hate the wilder but since the powers known is tagged to it for Susan's case. Here's the actual scenario.

As a level 3, a wilder would have 2 powers known at level 1 and nothing else. So for the build as it is, the Expansion is bought through expanded knowledge, astral construct is given freebie.

Right now. Your ruling is that the Psionic PF Summoner starts with 2 powers (which is 1 power more than the Wilder gets at level 1) and then 1 new power at every level after that.

A level 3 Psionic PF Summoner would then get 2 +1 +1 = 4 powers, not counting the Astral Construct as a freebie.

Either I'm mistaking something, or I seem to be given more powers known according to your new adjustment.

Yeah, let's change it to Ardent powers known. I just hate the Wilder progression so much that I can't bring myself to impose it on you. I mean really... look at 5th level. Volatile Mind +1 is all they get. Are you joking?  Bang Head It's really too bad, as I like the idea of the Wilder class. It is just so poorly made that I can't bring myself to like it at all, no matter how hard I try...

So I take it I should just pick some feats myself then?   Tongue

Edit: Phaedrus, I assume that I can't switch out my Wild Talent with Psionic Talent?  Same effect, more usefulness to me.   Tongue

The stuff that Prime linked to looks pretty cool. (I mean the Shadow Mind stuff, but I'm fine with most/all Mind's Eye material, even updated 3.0 stuff).

Allowing Wild Talent to count as Psionic Talent sounds like a reasonable House Rule, I think.

Does this psionic summoner writeup look about right to you? I had to adjust the skill list.

I think I said d6 hit dice, and 4 skill points per level, but I'd have to go dig back through the thread to make sure. Nick might remember. Big Grin BAB was also poor, not average. This thing focuses on summoning stuff, not being a gish. So I don't think it should have a medium BAB progression.

BAB is 3/4 as per summoner, d6 hit dice is correct, 4 skill points is correct. And its not really about being a gish or a summoner because later on the summoner takes on some of the features of the eidolon like a sort of personal manifestation of that eidolon or something. 3/4 BAB about covers it right.

Feats update:

I am taking Darkstalker.  I'll probably need it to survive.   Tongue

Options have been narrowed down to: Creature Capacitor, Overchannel, Manifesting Prodigy, and Psionic Body, and things that require Psionic Body (plus whatever other things people might decide I want).

I have three feat slots open.  All of the cool feats for Worldthought Medics require one more level in Worldthought Medic.

I just realized I have no idea what powers to take (or feats for that matter, seeing as there aren't too many options for a 1 handed weapon user) Anything I should look into?

This homebrew feat might interest you:

Duelist [General, Fighter Bonus]
Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +4
Benefit: When you enter melee with your offhand empty and without a shield, you receive a dodge bonus to AC and a bonus on attack and damage rolls equal to 1/3rd of your character level, rounded up. This benefit only applies if you are wielding a melee weapon in combat.

Or if you're using a shield, there are a few feats for shield users in the rules thread, also.

actually, that feat's the reason I chose to go as a duelist type over the classic two hander. But that still leaves me with 6 or so feats to choose for my career, and I can't take duelist just yet, so I have two open slots assuming I take elusive target and mobility. I'll look into the shield style though, maybe I can convert to a swashbuckler...

In mot cases I would say no. You may want to look at some way of getting discounted manifestation or extra renewable PP to increase your endurance.

Also on a related note. Phaedrus will torc of power preservation work as in XPH or MiC?
