Down the way, seeming to have appeared from nothing in the rippling heat-mirage given off by the road, two dark travelers make their way towards the group. Both stand in cloaks billowing of black; as they get closer, the possibly of satin and velvet involved with the cloaks makes itself apparent from the quality, and sleek armor shows underneath. There is a strange feel about the two, though it is not an aura of foreboding that usually follows the paths of two such darkly-clothed individuals. Instead, as they get closer, a small portion of gold appears dripping from underneath the hood of the taller figure, while slender black chords drape inside the hood of the smaller.
And there is no influence of distance on the sizes; one is quite small, half the size of the other who stands at a somewhat average height for a woman, and as the two approach and remove their hoods, women are what both obviously are. The tall one is elven, obviously, but somewhat mystical in appearance. Instead of the usual earthly and ethereal qualities that elves mix in their looks, this woman seems to be composed more of the mystic and less of the natural. It does not escape those with eyes that she is what one might describe as gorgeous, with flowing locks of light gold hair blending seamlessly (as frightening as this may be to those who consider it for a moment) into the pale skin, pointed ears piercing out of the curls like spears.
She stands slightly behind the shorter, a halfling woman who might be considered as intense and/or severe as her companion might be considered beautiful. Those with hearts lean toward the severe, and yet she doesn't glare, or act cold or calculating, as severe soldiers in black cloaks wearing worn but polished silver armor and a single spiked combat glove with two vicious knives hanging off the belt tend to look. She does look the group over, with a glance at each beings eyes, straight into them. Though her cloak is fully pulled back, and thus the armor and knives are seen, her companions body is still invisible beneath the velvet, the arms barely sweeping away the curtain of black as she removed the hood.

Stepping through the portal, both Lea and Iustitia emerge in the grand hall, and look rather unphased all things considered. Looking about, both absentmindedly took a drink before spotting the group, made obvious by the large object. Confirming the suspicion with a nod to one another, both meet with the group. After looking each person and creature in the eye-equivalent, the halfling produces a letter, with the mark of the summoning., and gives a not loud but easily heard, "Hey there."The elf, dropping her drink, nearly leapt out of her skin to step slightly in front of the halfling, her cloak flowing without revealing so much as a boot while saying, "It is with great pride and honor that we join you, mighty warriors, in defending our realm. The servants of our Goddess, Mistress of Magic and Death, I, Lea Tum, and my mentor and battle-mistress, Iustitia Verital, are here to join you in your quest to defend our lands. It is a pleasure.""Any 'very-tall' jokes about me and my name will end in my strangling your doubled over form with your intestinal tract while utilizing my knife as a convenient device to fornicate with your skull."
The elf turns quite red, and with her eyes wide, seemed to have gone stalk still. Obviously, she'd been worried about her mentor's tendency not to spare words, and this comments abrasive, crass, crude nature seems to have put her off guard. Recovering from the momentary shock quickly, she all but spurts out (with grace, mind you), "And I ask you to forgive us for our.... uncustomary language, as it is the way of my mentor to speak her mind whilst also appealing to the side of you that would otherwise seek to dominate her, as her service under our Mistress has often led to many a crude joke and violent confrontation in regards to her authority being ignored based on her size and femininity, which, in defense of herself and these qualities, has made her a bit hard and-""Lea, you're making a ranting excuse again..." The halfling smiles at the attempt at diplomacy, and now turned and addressed the group with a slight smile. "I do apologize, my militant habits do get the better of me, I'm afraid; hopefully, this will be something you learn to live with. I mean no disrespect, obviously. It is a pleasure to work with representatives from parallel organizations such as yourselves. I am Iustitia."Still blushing, the elf joined her mentors side quietly, as both gave a polite nodding bow to the group. ".....I also am delighted to be allowed to join with you here in defense of our-""-Oh stuff it Lea, you're here because I'm stuck with you as an apprentice... not that I mind, but... well, I was sent, you have to follow, here we are. Do I smell dead hobo?" At the very least, they seem to be lively.

Cut from the same cloth as Chiryl I see. About as direct as a hammer on the head. They'd get along like a house on fire. Akashiel listened to the exchange with interest, then, feeling the responsibility as the representative of the hosting Protectorate, inclines her head at the halfling, "Welcome then to our company. All five of us are here now, then."
She makes the introductions shared earlier, skirting around the very dead drunk and closing with, "Welcome to the Protectorate"

Oh great, another hot-blooded leap-before-you-look type. Dez thought, ignoring her own tendency to occasionally do the very same thing.
"Welcome. I am Desirae Del-Kaanen, Knight of the Raven from Faerun, on the world of Abeir-Toril, and Champion of Mystra, the Lady of Mysteries, Mother of All Magic, keeper of the Weave. It is... a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Ashara smiles again, and does not stop smiling.
"I am pleased to meet you. I am Kommander Ashara Iniir of Alpha Scorpion Rider Regiment of the Brotherhood of Nul, Reverend Mother Priestess of the Umbra and Matron Mother of House Drannath."

Both of the newcomers look at each other, each with a questioning glance. After a moment, the halfling smiles, saying to her compatriot, "Save the titles, it'll give them the wrong impression.
"So, what's the story so far? I got briefed on the threat, what's our plan of attack? Also, are we currently in the Protectorate, or a midway point?"

Suddenly taking on a business-like, almost military demeanour, Ashara starts to gesticulate while speaking.
"Holy Kren councils peace through power. In order to establish our power, we must have a base of operations. I have with me sufficient materials to create a large outpost, complete with a sample of magicite for cultivation purposes, and Urcaen Pitch for use in military actions, though I have little of that. My slaves, despite their appearance, are quite capable in terms of construction, and I have been given training by the finest mage-scientists of the Brotherhood.
As we are facing a threat whose nature we do not understand, we must turn to another tenet of Holy Kren: strength through unity. We need to seek out all allies possible in this place - regardless of their nature. While Holy Kren councils against such things, I suspect that using fiends may be advisable here - they ask fewer questions. Undead are a good idea too - I have some talent in their animation.
Overall, I believe our plan should be to build up our own forces and armies, and try to find out where this Edge of Sanity currently happens to be attacking. Until we know that much, any further plans do not appear sensible."

The elf and halfling turn simultaneously on their heels, cloaks wrapping around them as they turn towards the sweaty man's large door. The star elf looks back for a moment at the drow, but the halfling gives a stern "Come, Lea," and they proceed on.

Dez looks somewhat disconcerted at the suggestions made by Ashara. Fiends? Undead? She didn't know how these creatures acted on the dark-elf's world, though judging by her personality, Dez feared that they were much the same.
She follows along with the group. Looking around at her compatriots, she began feeling quite alone, having come to through the gate as such. Her only apprentice was not strong enough for combat of such magnitude, and only she was tasked with seeing to this situation. Clearly her mistress had faith in her, but Dez could not shake the subtle notion that perhaps, just maybe, she was in over her head.
She put a stern look on her face, determined and confident, despite her misgivings.

Shrugging her shoulders, Ashara gives a sharp whistle, and her scorpion starts to move towards her, with her slaves in tow.
