I think that weather by a spot, spellcraft or whatever check. it should be visible to intelligent creatures. Or why would it say that unintelligent wouldn't know. And there's no way a second level spell should give you immunity to necro stuff. unless there's a visible downside. And it lasts for a while. all day at 10 and above (extended and magical locations and such)
Your appearance does not change, and while intelligent undead do not immediately recognize you as alive, they are likely to question whether you are actually undead. If used in conjunction with a disguise or illusion to appear undead, this spell gives you a +5 bonus on your Disguise check.

Undead aren't immune to necromancy effects. Constructs (but not living constructs) are.

I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle. The book doesn't even exist! Quotes: By yes, she means no.

Why would you even do this? It hurts my eyes and looks like you ate your keyboard before suffering an attack of explosive diarrhea. If using Genesis to hide your phylactry, set it at -300 degrees farenheit. See how do-gooders fare with a liquid atmosphere.

that spell doesnt make you immune to necromancy - it just makes certein spells (not all necromancy) affect you diffrently (for instance - enervation grants temp HP etc).

I think that weather by a spot, spellcraft or whatever check. it should be visible to intelligent creatures. The text that you quoted disagrees with you. Your appearance does not change And there's no way a second level spell should give you immunity to necro stuff. unless there's a visible downside. You mean how Protection from Evil, a 1st level spell, gives you immunity to most of the Enchantment School? I'm not saying it's right, or that I like it, but there is certainly precedent.

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.

Unintelligent creatures without a controller nearby are pushovers anyway (silent image makes them pointless).
Shroud of undeath is more useful for undead themselves, since it's a one-time immunity to turning.

Unintelligent undead with a controller nearby are pushovers anyway (a 5,000gp vest in the MiC makes you unpreciveable until you attack them).

Protection from Evil can be cast after the fact, is of a low enough spell level that it's no significant sacrifice to have it available all the time (cheap wands, spell slots not good for much else... hell the group I play with now just instructed their lantern archon buddy to move within 10 feet of the victim), and "blocks any attempt... to exercise mental control over the creature (including enchantment (charm) effects and enchantment (compulsion) effects that grant the caster ongoing control over the subject" regardless of whether the source is evil.
It's rather early, but I'm getting the impression that you make a lot of assumptions about what spells do, instead of reading the exact specifics. Is this accurate?

At level 20, it's just barely long enough to last through Titanic. Twice that if you're using Extend (so Titanic and Avatar). And Persist makes EVERY buff an all-day buff.

So you end up stuck in an endless loop, unable to act, forever.
In retrospect, much like Keanu Reeves.

So does a 1st level cleric spell. It also lasts 10 mins/lvl. And affects multiple targets.

Your point?

The item also works on Intelligent undead and does not allow a saving throw. Incredibly useful in an arena filled with Evolved Ghosts...
