Huh huh, I think I see what you did.  Rolls Eyes
I didn't know this custom item was allowed - it's yet another that "everybody should have".
(Please understand that I am not complaining - my PC has the cheesiest feat of them all, after all.  Embarrassed)

Which is what?

is everything imobile or grappled at the moment before i post another turn or is one of the lesser chimeras still up and fighting?
i thought we had one left to deal with but it seems i may be wrong by some of the posts

Big one is grapple feared etc, the last lesser is presently blind and 10ft in the air (out of dwarf smacking range!).
What happens when critters with natural flight, i.e. wings, get entangled? Do they drop? The critter has Hover, so it could stay airborne on the spot, but if it can't use its wings...?

Anything entangled when flying with wings falls, per the dmg section on 3d flight.

A gygaxian dungeon is like the world's most messed up game show.

Behind door number one: INSTANT DEATH!
Behind door number 2: A magic crown!
Behind door number 3: 4d6 giant bees, and THREE HUNDRED POUNDS OF HONEY!
They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.

Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.

Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...
Best metaphor I have seen in a long time.  I give you much fu.

Nine for Mortal Monks doomed to die,

Would you care to quote the text? From what I can see:
- an entangled creature with good or better maneuverability has no problem flying
- an entangled with average or worse maneuverability needs to keep using double-moves to stay aloft (wings or no wings)
- if they have Hover they can stay aloft as long as it spent the requisite move action
It's tripping that causes winged creatures to fall (that's from a Rules of the Game article IIRC, not quite RAW).

That's just the RAW perspective; otherwise I have no beef with entangling causing winged creatures to fall.

Correction: 3.0 DMG's combat-in-3D section had that sentence, they have indeed changed it for 3.5. Wonderful hold over rules in my head >.<

Ok, so basically I did nothing wrong with keeping the critter in the air, that's what I wanted to know. It can still fly at half-speed, as long as it can fly without stalling.

I'm not quite sure whether I can start round 4. Will check...

As a head's up, I will be away working at a conference from this coming Wednesday night until the following Tuesday and will have pretty much zero internet access for that time (may be able to read posts at night on phone but will be limited in typing and exhausted).

Movement is alright.

Falling damage in crazy anyway you look at it...Summon monster VIII can become 1d4+1x20d6 damage, and you still get your summons.

Except you cannot summon them into the air unless they can fly. That trick was basically killed a long time ago.

Why are you unable to summon them in the air? No where does it say they have to be touching the ground. No where does it say they can't live in the air.

Why are you unable to summon them in the air? No where does it say they have to be touching the ground. No where does it say they can't live in the air.
Because all teleporation (including summoning) has to finish on a surface able to support the character. You cannot teleport gib someone, nor can you conjure into the air, unless they can fly.

Quote from: SRD
Conjuration

Each conjuration spell belongs to one of five subschools. Conjurations bring manifestations of objects, creatures, or some form of energy to you (the summoning subschool), actually transport creatures from another plane of existence to your plane (calling), heal (healing), transport creatures or objects over great distances (teleportation), or create objects or effects on the spot (creation). Creatures you conjure usually, but not always, obey your commands.

A creature or object brought into being or transported to your location by a conjuration spell cannot appear inside another creature or object, nor can it appear floating in an empty space. It must arrive in an open location on a surface capable of supporting it. The creature or object must appear within the spell’s range, but it does not have to remain within the range.

Eh, rather pointless anyway, I can't and don't plan on, summoning.

Though the instantly applied buff spell ACF might work...hmm

BTW, how is the kitty taking falling damage if the beast is falling less than 10ft?

It's falling pretty exactly 10 feet. Well... one could say that a few inches are missing, but since he had to jump 8ft to reach the critter (with his vertical reach of 2 feet as a tiny creature), then the critter must have been about 10 feet in the air. Enough to satisfy that requirement at least.

10ft to impact the ground, ~9ft to impact the cat (~8ft if you want to count the tail  Tongue).

Not sure...I know I should be waiting on everyone else though.

I'm on "Infinite Ready" until one of them breaks free, more combatants join, or they're all dead.
