I dont think that Doyles going to have much problems sticking around. I am playing he has a bit of a wanderlust due to his fey heritage. and hes made it around a bit on his own but he knows it will be easier with a group than by himself

I'm just feeling like Marc is some kind of lost puppy right now and am unclear on what our purpose is.
But that's fine. Play him like he's a lost puppy. Just make him a very scary, possibly angry lost puppy... (just to avoid him ending up cute.) I think the best bet is to actually ask for explanations from Torgthen. That way you can find out whether anything he says matches your goals. Also, you can just have him ask to stick around, because he needs a charge, something to protect. Actually though, I thought he's coming off as quite purposeful right now. Not sure, but that might be an interesting trait.

Part of my lag in posting is a bit of writer's block around my character and how this group is supposed to plausibly gel.
Same here... And it's only the last in a series of flukes (ending up in the desert, teaming up with strangers, going underground even though we're supposed to change demons). If things get in full swing I'll try to do a tabula rasa. And actually I made Mael more than two years ago so I should revisit the mechanics at some point.

Well I figured away out of the drow, at least for now. So we can go demon hunting, just missing some IC info from the surface to make it work.

If you feel your characters are being bent too far backwards to go along with the currently planned story, then we can always change things... I agree that right now the composition of the party is questionable. Maybe we should make two parties?

I have no problem with how I'm motivated for the party.

A gygaxian dungeon is like the world's most messed up game show.
Behind door number one: INSTANT DEATH! Behind door number 2: A magic crown! Behind door number 3: 4d6 giant bees, and THREE HUNDRED POUNDS OF HONEY! They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.
Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.
Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...
Best metaphor I have seen in a long time. I give you much fu. Three Errata for the Mage-kings under the sky, Seven for the Barbarian-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Monks doomed to die, One for the Wizard on his dark throne In the Land of Charop where the Shadows lie.

If I had more time I would try to find better hooks for you guys. As it is, I sort of hoped that you could get together first, and then we could think about the hooks - for all of you.

I'd venture he's talking about the new PCs barging in on the old PCs...

I'm waiting for either the other two to catch up to me, or Mag to attack me.

But the other two are fairly far behind, and those in the central cavern haven't even rolled some spot checks.
If you don't want to roll, at least you should say that you are distracted and not paying attention or something (Thistle and Snizor). And Isul can also react to whatever is happening - or not happening.

I'm feeling a bit dense, here... what interruption? Torgthen has yet to actually ask the other group, save the mech, what they are doing down in the caverns, due to his feeling of being under time constraints. The new people joining those present and disclosing the information from above will give him something to have the hound tell the dwarven council back home. Which can then can be played out to have the council decide to have Torgthen carry on with the surface group, while they send aid to the drow, allowing for both fronts to be covered in case either one is a false lead.

Dunno, I don't know of any encounters with them. Merely assuming, but I figure it depends on who gets transformed, as it is probably a template.
I think mostly kids and new borns have been afflicted, maybe some sickly people, I don't know what all BP has planned out.
