No, I'm asking for a flaw. A legit character flaw from UA like Feeble, and all those on the SRD site, and book. I would like Blind to be a flaw. And once again, I will point out that I want everyone to pretend you're level 1 whatever. It doesn't matter that Wish exists, or Remove Blindness/Deafness exists, or anything like that exists. You're level 1. You need to build your character. And you're going to be blind since birth because your character drew that out of the hat. You can't afford those spells a level 1. You don't have access to the spells that could cure you if you're a cleric or wizard at level 1. And in your town, no one's got those kind of capabilities either. You might be able to cure yourself eventually, but you've gotta survive that long. It's not a perfect world. How do you get that extra bonus feat? Or, is it such that you can NEVER get a flaw for blind, despite the fact that there are five variants on homebrew sites, but none of which seem very balanced, and would make anyone want to play a blind character.
So, your question is: "where can I find a balanced version of a flaw that makes a character Blind? Or, alternatively, what do you all think a balanced version of the law would look like?"

So, your question is: "where can I find a balanced version of a flaw that makes a character Blind? Or, alternatively, what do you all think a balanced version of the law would look like?" Yes. Flaws aren't necessarily permanent. It says that on there that you can work it off and you can buy it off with a bonus feat later. So should that happen later, so be it. Right now, it's not an option.

The problems with being blind are rather many though.
You can't be a wizard, since you can't read your spellbook, you can't be an archivist, since you possibly can't write. You can't use scrolls, since you can't read them. And should you ever enter a zone of silence, you'd be rendered totally senseless, and not be able to do anything, unless you have scent.
So being permanently blinded is probably a lot worse than some penalty to a saving throw, or -1 to hit in close combat, I mean, how many players can't live with the non-combatant negative effect?
Also, points about wish probably able to remove blindness is rather moot, since they would probably also be able to remove your shakyness.
I just think being blind is too big a drawback to only allow one feat for it.

Really? So would that be why they made it into a flaw that grants two feats in the homebrews? In another homebrew version it granted +5 to Listen and one feat of your choice.
Now while you can't be a wizard, you can be a sorcerer. While you can't be an archivist you can still be a favored soul, a cleric, or any other diviner. You can still take blindfight and have blindsense and blindsight. There are ways around it so you could be okay in that right.
The One Eye flaw that PF made has it that you get a -1 penalty per range increment for a ranged weapon. That makes sense. If you're 100 feet away, you should have -10 to your attack if you've only got one eye and no depth perception.

Yes, but you can't use a targeted spell on someone you can't see. Even with the blind-fight feat, you lose your dexterity bonus to AC against ranged attacks and anyone attacking you with a ranged weapon gains +2 to hit.

There's another feat called Blind-Shot that could take care of that. Or at least help.

But still you are taking 2 or 3 feats to counter the effects of one flaw, when other flaws such as weak-willed is countered by one feat, Iron Will. So on and so forth. As is, flaws are probably OTT. But if you want to balance blinded, you have to do it against the "official" flaws, if not, no-one will take it. The flaws as they are can be countered by a single feat (which is what they grant), so I think you should work towards this flaw granting as many feats as you need to effectively render it inert. That seems to be the measurement the other flaws are made after. I'm not saying this is smart (I actually think Flaws are OTT, as I said), just that it would be the only reason for anyone to pick it.
I'm not sure what you can do to make that happen.
Oh and not being able to use ranged weapons and not being able to cast targeted spells is rather bad. So add that to the things this flaw would stop you from doing.
Here's another way to look at it: You get the choice between two flaws, one gives -1 to hit with ranged weapons (which exists), one bars you from ever using ranged weapons, and other, worse things. Which one do you choose?

Q23 : PsyRef can swap around spells known, just as it can skill points and powers known, and most likely maneuvers known as well. So...can Psychic Chirurgery be used to add maneuvers known as it can with spells known/powers known?
From Page 6. Also : Q 36a: What actions are a psicrystal capable of, and b what exactly is reiterated under temporal reiteration? My books are in storage at the moment, sadly, but I want to say it extends the duration of everything by 1. Finally c What else other than a separate character or a psicrystal is capable of the same actions as a psicrystal in a psicrystal function? I.e. can the psionic weapon master use solicit psicrystal on his weapon once it's capable of attaining and holding psionic focus, and can this also be applied to a psionic based Weapon of Legacy or Item Familiar?

If i remember correctly mindflayers use a kind of braille to write, if you learned that you could be a wizard i suppose... copying scrolls to your book however would be more difficult.

A37take one level in Warhulk .... then take levels in a PrC that progresses Warhulk Class Abilities(gain Str Bonuses,etc...) ... Like Legacy Champion or Uncanny Trickster .. they will give you the BAB by themselves and at the same time advance the Class Abilities of Warhulk

How would you manage Warhulk -> Legacy Champion when Legacy Champion requires ranks of a knowledge skill and No Time To Think more or less kills your brain?
Uncanny Trickster is a pretty good idea, though, just wish the class were longer.

Well if the Knowledge ranks are the only issue, PAO into my favorite broken birdman the chronotyryn and enjoy 10 free ranks that can't go away

Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future. Speaking of which: Don't even need TO for this. Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu]. Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

Q.39 How do i break the max 10 HDs for Zombies Cap? Reason for the question [Necromancer's Handbook] Outsiders make good Zombies Zombies gain natural armor on top of their existing natural armor, so Outsiders made into Zombies go from very hard to hit to crazy-go-nuts hard to hit. Start with a Green Slaad, say, and its AC jacks up to 26. Start with a Marilith and its AC goes up to 32! Planetars only have 14 Hit Dice... you know where this is going, right?

If you stop ignoring 289 pages telling what the intent is to stretch "more power" in your own god complexion of your interpretation trumps all to cover ability adjustments from aging then I will ignore a quarter page of rules that exist within a sidebar.
I think in this case the grammar is less important than whether the Str and Dex bonus provided to your created undead scales.

Q.40 What's a good way to cheat being able to cast Arcane spells? A la Dweomer keeper, I'm playing a straight divine character, and I don't want to dip 1 level for an arcane class. It doesn't have a restriction as to what level I must be able to cast, just that I can 'cast arcane and divine spells'
