Bump: Q24 Can the Abrupt Jaunt ACF be used to trigger Shadow Pounce?
A24I don't see why not. It says any teleport effect, right?

Q.40 What's a good way to cheat being able to cast Arcane spells? A la Dweomer keeper, I'm playing a straight divine character, and I don't want to dip 1 level for an arcane class. It doesn't have a restriction as to what level I must be able to cast, just that I can 'cast arcane and divine spells'
A 40: Magical Training, from Player's Guide to Faerun, is how the original Dweomercheater did it

Q41: What templates (that are viable for a PC) have a strength bonus to level adjustment ratio higher than 2:1? I've found Half-dragon (8:3) and Lolth-touched (6:1), are there any others?
Edit: Whoops, this was supposed to be 41.

A40use Anyspell.... it allows you to Prepare and Cast an Arcane Spell... notice: Anyspell(FR p67)<Trans, VS/DF, 15Minutes, Personal> – The caster prepares an Arcane spell of up to 2nd level for later casting. The spell must be read from a spellbook or a scroll (which is then consumed). The spell is cast normally (including the need for expensive material components, focuses, & XP costs), but the caster may use his/her holy symbol in place of inexpensive material components. The caster’s Cleric level is used as the caster level & his/her Wisdom modifier is used as the spell’s primary caster modifier.

Q 42 How do you get back lost levels from death? Does this same premise work on clones that have also lost that level due to the previous death?

Two ways. 1. Thought Bottle 2. Regaining the level via adventuring and gaining xp. True Resurrection/Revivify don't cause you to lose a level in the first place.

Why would you even do this? It hurts my eyes and looks like you ate your keyboard before suffering an attack of explosive diarrhea. If using Genesis to hide your phylactry, set it at -300 degrees farenheit. See how do-gooders fare with a liquid atmosphere.

Don't die in the first place. Delay Death, Revivify, Fortunate Fate, Pact of Return, Contingency, Retributive Spell (Ray of the Python) and MANY other stuff help with that. Failing that, there are 2 things that let you return without expensive spells and without level loss: 1 - Ardent Dilettante (PlH) 2 - Paladin Spirit (Cityscape).

So basically if you die, and come back as a clone, there's no way you're getting back that lost level. That's mostly what I'm looking for. Hence the second half of the question.

If you used a Thought Bottle before you died, then your clone can pick it up, use it, and you're right back to where you were when you last used it.

Q 20 I know this ability exists, but I'm questioning on whether it's a feat or not. And it's not homebrew. How can a wizard write out a spell in a book, but only use half the space (ie a 0th and 1st level spell only use 1/2 a page, and a 9th only uses 4.5 pages)? It does exist. I've seen people in the past who play wizards do it, and brag about their finding. I just don't know how exactly. I thought it was a feat, but maybe it's an item? I'm hoping someone here can answer it. A 20 Was finally able to find this. It's Arcane Shorthand in Dragon 358. And it also allows you to write spells in half the time.

Feral is 4:1. Would Lycanthrope count? Werebear has +16 STR for +2 or +3 LA, though it also comes with 6 HD.

There's the Eiditic Wizard ACF from Dragon Magazine, which removes the need for a spellbook, but not the costs for learning spells, and there's the Beguiler class in PHB2 that's a Spontaneous Arcane Caster based on INT. Wizard is better for Swiftblade, usually.

You lose your familiar and the Scribe Scroll feat. I don't know. It seems kind of expensive two lose both. Especially considering you have to still pay the cost of the spells you learn. I would considering taking Collegiate Wizard as well to help with that.

Mage Lord PrC from Lost Empires of Faerun gives you spell mastery a butt-load of times.

A44 The Ranger ACF from Dungeonscape swaps Track with Trapfinding, and adds some skills to your list.
