Aullara tries to perceive the ambushing caster's whereabouts.

Listen: 1d20(13)+9=22
Spot: 1d20(16)+9=25

Keep in mind, Aullara can see invisible creatures thanks to See the Unseen.

"Most certainly, your companion mentioned some sort of optional guard service. I would like to know more about what I would be buying. Is the Brotherhood of the Horned Rat large enough to defend my shop from would-be thieves or hired muscle? Will I be able to talk to your leader if the need arises? How long has the Brotherhood of the Horned Rat been offering this service? And finally, do you have any references?" He said in his most polite tone.

To take advantage of the situation, and incase the wererats decided not to quite tell the full truth, Maglynn attempts to peer into the wererats' minds.

I am uncertain which check you want for that.

Janus is still milling about the crowd on high alert in case this is some ambush, intended to lead them into a corner.

Do you want to roll the appropriate checks "behind the DM screen" or shall I roll?

Glim will approach the area where the pick pocket is and begin looking for him. (do you want search or spot Glim would use the more relevant one depending on the details, keep in mind Glim has Darkvision so shadows don't help this guy)

Group 1 Krisrath/ Maglynn
Int order
Krisrath
 Maglynn
Then the rats

After hearing the statement the Rats start to laugh at Krisrath for a moment then when they re-compose them self’s replay saying guard service, you mean if you don’t pay us we would not come back later with some Alchemist’s fire” then the other rat interrupted saying “Well we use to just toss a blast disk in to your home during supper hours but after a while that just gets expense and after Johnny blow himself up making them Alchemist’s fire is just easier and more user friendly. and set the store a light to serve as a warning to anyone else that wants to not pay. As for thief’s we could not care as for another gang trying the same thing we will deal with them our own way.  We as for operation time we only joined about a fortnight ago we both were Bandits, before getting the options of join or dying, when a large group of them swarmed our gangs camp.  We don’t know much about there history but they are a more disciplined crew then we have ever worked with” as the other one continues saying “bloody Hell I don’t even think they started in this country.”

From Maglynn scanning there mind they are being are not lying about what they are saying.

Group 2 Aullara and Lloyd

From what you can tell there is only the one man with the cross bow in the area as he takes another shot at Lloyd and misses.

Group 3 every one else
Glim 23 <– were we are
Toshi 17
Shade 13
Theif 10

Janus see nothing that would indicate an ambush but there 1 possible threat to the group when a four man patrol of Guards turns a Conner a block away (note they will see what is happening in 2 more rounds)
Mean while in the ally way the thaif reveals him self as he hisses something you don’t understand what he is saying as he slashes at Toshi with a knife  and mhe doges it

if possible Glim will move to a flanking position with Toshi, if he is flat footed i will delay to gain flanking bonus if not i'll attack now.
attack; damage; sneak attack (1d20+13=18, 1d3+1=3, 2d6=7)
I rolled SA separate in case it wouldn't apply.

Aullara is now peeved by the tricksy ambusher, and flies around him, about 10 feet behind him. She then lets out a vicious eldritch blast, crackling with malicious energy.

Do the guards seem as if they're headed toward Janus's comrades with a purpose or are they just a patrol?
(Spot? Sense Motive?)
If they seem like they are headed to his comrades with an intent to make trouble, Janus is going to distract. So please don't let them proceed without resolving this.

Janus turns his discerning eyes toward the group of guards and prepares to handle them, appropriately.

“I see…” said Krisrath.

“Could you take us to those that you answer to? We wish to discuss the possibility of a more profitable arrangement.” Maglynn said sweetly.

Opposed Charisma check 1d20+9=22 to get them to do what I want.

Maglynn casts Mindlink on the two followers in the shop.

Edit: Bah, Cha is +8, so 21 instead.

"why do they never listen to reason I wonder..." Slightly peeved at the second attack, Lloyd charges at the bandit who was too stupid to run from the Black Lion.
Delicious violence data

Actually, Leap Attack doesn't work that way, especially not post-errata. The wording has been changed to clarify that the damage is increased by 100%, meaning If you power attack for 5, double for 2-handed weapon for 10, then pluss 100% for 20. Still a lot for bonus melee damage, but not as insane as you thought it would be.

Regardless, after my attack, and your crit, this guy ought to be toast no matter what. Big Grin

Slashed at. That was cute. However, Toshi only needed his coin back; he could have the man arrested before needing to cut the cut-purse in half. Seeing his allies in movement, Toshi simply dodges the blows, keeping a defensive stance.

Taking total defense action.

For Shades Action when time comes if it is appropriate to the situation.....

Shade watches as Glim and Toshi maneuver on the thief considering his best course of action to stop the thief without killing him.  Quickly he settles on talking and casts Glibness.

"Alright you fool thief, best for you if you return what you've stolen and preserve your life.  Persist in this folly and I am sure that purse will do you no good."

Bluff Check:1d20+37=57  WOW!!
