HOLY SHIT, deja vu upon rereading SiFir's last post.
Hate it when that happens. Feels like I've been bludgeoned in the noggin.

As a side note, Rakan is a living(well, not quite anymore) testament to Iron Heart Surge abuse.
I believe this qualifies for Schrödinger's Cat. At least for now. Is he dead if he was an illusion in the first place and remains able to take actions while nonexistent? Dude, I started this and thought "Crap, I can't do another high school girls and their hijynx manga for a bit," and now I'm hearing about bleach-sized battles and yu yu hakusho battles and shit. Gotta start it over again....
Which series, Negima? It starts off as Shenanigans, but at manga 3 it slowly shifts into Awesome. It jumps around from time to time, but once you get to the Mahora Budokai all bets are off, the series is officially "Harry Potter Meets DBZ with a side order of Love Hina". Though if you were reading for fanservice, hijinks, magic AND awesome action, it's like hitting the motherlode.

This one, you can very much nearly ignore the summary. RE: Naruto I think we're well past the point when it came to the 'arm full of sharingans' bit.

I will do! Which series though? Aren't there, like, two or three? The anime are very loosely based on the source material, and the Negima NEO manga is based on one of the anime. Stick with the original.

Stick with the original. Yeah. The series, in order: Mahou Sensei Negima! (Original manga) Negima! (1st anime, regarded as very poor compared to the second) Negima!? (2nd anime, different plot) Negima!? Neo (2nd manga, follows 2nd anime in plot) Then there's the Live Action. Do not want!

http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=791.msg234557#msg234557(It's called Negima!!) Many of them look surprisingly close to the manga characters. Chachamaru looks ridiculous though. Of course, it's different seeing them in action. In some of the promotional shots they don't have their hair styled like the characters', so I recommend watching those videos I linked to if you haven't already.

Also, wtf, drained to high hell and injured Sasuke, who apparently can't use his eyes, is facing off against a fine and ready Kakashi, holding back or no (which would be uncharacteristic for Kakashi)? Either the next comic's gonna be a pull-out, or this series is drifting into dbz terrain...
Madara still has his ghost teleportation trick which lets him act as Deus Ex Machina, and he might want to take Kakashi's sharingan. Also, Sasuke has clearly gone insane.

Well, it's better than Bleach (alas, early chapters, I knew ye well). Kishimoto tries to insert deep themes into his story, even if he doesn't always handle them well.

A ninja's simply NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ORANGE. Basically. This. Plus this. Equals this. Sure Bleach's gotten to DBZ levels of asspulling, but I still figure at least they aren't calling themselves shit they're not, i.e. ninjas.

Hey, I already knew Naruto had monkey brains.
Plus, a guy who's named after food and the format for said food has no standing pretending to be badass.

Why does no one complain about One Piece's "pirates"? The word just means something different in the setting (something more like "wizard"). They do have actual ninja - they just call them the ANBU. And it's not like Naruto would ever get sent on a stealth mission. Other similar things: Samus Aran is not a bounty hunter. She's a mercenary. Yet everyone calls her a bounty hunter. Likewise, the guys in BlazBlue seem to refer to bounty hunters as "vigilantes". Those are systems in Super Mario Galaxy, not galaxies.

Well, the ones in One Piece actually KINDA get closer to their description. One funny little thing is that the word they use for pirate is kazoku - which spelled with other kanji means family, and with another means sea tribe. The Straw Hats don't actually pillage and plunder, obviously, because they're the good guys, but the people they beat up do it just fine (least up to where I readed it).
Exactly what difference is there between a bounty hunter and a mercenary? I mean, their job description is practically the same. Their targets are often the same too.
In BlazBlue it's more a case of approximate translation. The term for bounty hunter is something like "shoukinkasei" if I remember correctly. They use another term in the game (can't remember it for the life of me right now).
I ain't arguing with the ones in Super Mario Galaxy though.

What, you couldn't find a subbed version? Oh, and here's the song, Imitation - very appropriate lyrics I'll show you that this false dream can be fulfilled You can still ridicule me now Even if it's idealistic, I want to make it my aim It's still far away now, but surely What is fake will become what is real. (it's the same singer who did the opening for Fate/Unlimited Codes)
