".... I could work well as a yojimbo. My code of conduct is not sacrificed as a man-slayer, as it is to a degree something I could excel in."
"Yojimbo?" He looks crestfallenly still for a moment, before his face turns irritable and sulky. "....... a hired slayer......." he says, as if ashamed of it after the fact. "Like I said, an option if need be, but I already have a job, or rather a task, so this is only to pay bills.""Again if that job is for who I think it is, you'll need to be careful. And there's nothing wrong in being a hired killer. We have lots of evil men and monsters that need killing."

Looking up in excitedly in a froggy fashion, I begin to explain. "I am a Neraph, a civilised raqce hailing from Limbo. We happen to be strong jumpers and are well-versed in the art of using motion to camouflage our attacks." <Breath> "I myself happen to be of a slightly more advanced heritage, including some true slaad, and am a disciple of entropy, i.e. a "chaos monk" of sorts. This enables me to attack with my sharpened tongue as well as manipulate chance slightly. I may also hallucinate slightly, but this is a potent defense against illusions."
"We'll uh...we'll see if you there's a monastery hereabouts ..."

"I have no idea who ultimately it's for; I was hired by a karasu ten-....a crow-headed woman warrior.
"And as I said, whatever suits needs, I will do it."

"Holy Crap you're an angel?"
Alcy looks slightly taken aback at Sasha's reaction. " Uh.. No, not exactly. Angels are a distinct race, and while we are all Celestials, you can tell an Angel by the feathery wings coming out from their backs. Eladrin do not possess wings, though we still often have the means to fly nonetheless. As I mentioned before, the Ghaele have the ability to become glowing orbs of light, and in that form we can fly at roughly 25 feet per second, or rather about 17 miles per hour. It is quite easy, given that there is no physical exertion like there would be if we flew with wings." She smirks. " And between us, most angels are far more uptight. Still, I have yet to achieve globe form, but I feel I will master it very soon."

"We'll uh...we'll see if you there's a monastery hereabouts ..." "Don't worry," Teo smiles. "I don't need a monastary, too ordered. All I need is an overhang protecting against the rain. And for your information, I'm not nearly as twitchy as that description makes my sound."

The little cat pipes up. "I am Kintal, I am a Tibbit shapechanger!" He quickly transforms back to the smaller cat form to what you would expect to see if a halfling got trapped on the Island of Dr. Moreau and got crossbred with a cat to the bigger cat form with wings back to the big cat form. "I like being a cat and specialize in combat in this form, I am good at combat and sneakyness and using shiny things that I find!"

"A combat caster? I... suppose so. A great deal of my magic is meant to destroy people." Bartholomeow smiled. "But I don't exactly go around advertising anyways. Now if you'll excuse me, there is a certain someone that I need to follow."

"I am called Savorel Darasthuril, a dragon-descended kobold, once given divine power from the gods themselves." Savorel draws herself more upright, trying for dignity even draped in pink. "I do not know why I was brought here, but I do know that this God has promises to keep. I was, where I came from, a Shaman of my kobold tribe, honored elder and leader. Here, I do not know the gods, nor can I feel my old friends."
"I am alone." she whispers, closes her eyes, and seems to collapse upon herself.
"My racial enemies are few, but I have a personal dislike and vendetta against evil dragons, though I will work with them when necessary. As a Shaman, I possess a certain talent for the fine arts of negotiation."

"I perform with some of your people, though there are few of you here indeed. Welcome to Seranian sir. Your presence is most welcome." (Guess that explains the muscles huh?) whispers "I'd not bandy about the knowledge of your spurs too easily." So there other of my kin here? I have not spoken with another platypus in a few years now. I feel I must thank you for both this info and the welcoming. A feeling of relaxation spreads through my body as I realise this might turn out to be a pleasant experience after all. Perhaps I should go and see them... The closest thing to a good wrassle I've had in a long time was with that overconfident young bear I say to no one in particular and put my hand to my cheek. Suddenly a look that reveals a pleasant anticipation spread across my face

There are many forms of entertainment to be found in a city this size."

"Aww...you're never truly alone. I know it feels bad now, but some of the Gods will most likely be contacting you within the day if you are a Shaman. The City Hall has a Hall of Records in which you can find more information about them. I'm unsure if there are other Kobolds on Seranian, but there are Kobold cities on he ground, and having you as a go between would be helpful. I know there's a Lizardman who lives here named Joe. He runs Joe's Used Pets, and they're often hiring. He might be able to point you in the right direction."

"Your group is a pretty varied lot. Normally we might split you up into various areas, but things are tense here at the moment and after recent conflicts budgets and resources aren't at their peak. If possible I'd like to set you all up in the same Inn called ...um...(flips thru papers) the Rusting Cannibal. It's not as bad as the name sounds really, it's run by a married couple and their daughters. It can be a bit lively in the evenings."
"As for work there's various Guilds who provide plenty of equipment and such up front, but take a large percentage of your earnings till you pay it off. They also have fees and contracts and a bunch of other crap to wade through. The Sheriff however is empowered to take on adventurers as trouble shooters for hire. We can only provide the bare minimum equipment, and the wage isn't great, but your allowed to keep any equipment you come across as long as it's not evidence we need for a trial, which rarely happens. You're also allowed to keep money and items as long as they aren't stolen from citizens who need them back, and they aren't a danger to the city. I did it myself for a while. It's how I built up my money enough to retire and just be a performer."

Oh yeah, money. I was left with some of those. Haven't used those in a long while... Would you mind giving me a moment as I go and pick them up? I walk of in a calm manner to pick up the bag that was left in my room when I arrived. I turn around after a few steps and say Seems like good terms. and then I continue walking

Countdown to Zombie Apocalypse 97 When you see this, copy it into your sig and -1 Quotes In other words, he thinks there's a "correct" way to play D&D. *sigh* There is: Kill shit and loot the corpse! When you use a tool the way it was designed for -- its intended function -- then it will work very well for you.
But it's not the tool's fault if you use it for something else and you fail utterly, such as trying to eat cereal with a butterknife, pounding nails with a screwdriver, blogging to voice your political opinions, and brushing your teeth with a hammer.

"Those terms are acceptable." Savorel offers Sasha a bow with a crooked (toothy) smile. "I hope we have an opportunity to get to know each other better. Friends, no matter where they are, are valuable."
