So if I understand correctly, the school is pretty much providing us with weapons or armor as our part of wealth, and the rest will be money we get from this bursar which we can then spend on the rest of our magic items, but for simplicity's sake we're just putting all our requested gear on our lists all at once.
Is that correct? Or is there extra cash on top of it?

doesnt that make it the same price as a +2 weapon? yea, managed to leave out one of my numbers when i was working out the price ((2x2)x2000) +1 Lance 2310gp Ring of Protection +1 2000gp Bracers of armor +1 4000gp 8310gp Enough money to get the +2 version but it would be 8310gp which is over half by 1k. |

You could always save some money up for when we level in the future, and we're at the point where PCs are meant to have +2 weapons.  |
