The XPH has XP costs which can suck a bit. The DMG does have gold costs page 198 (1000gp x spell level) which makes the XPH rule coherent with the 5gp ~ 1 XP conversion. Note that what you call a "duplicated" spell is an entirely new spell if it didn't belong to the class list in the first place... hence why there is no separate section for those.

So; Nasr, the Lands of Ice, and Mid-Ocean are the only ones that are inactive. IIRC, Mid-Ocean has its four people and should be completely ready to start up again. If I am wrong, could one of the Mid-Ocean players inform me of who is missing/not ready?

Lands of Ice has Dman and JaronK (though I haven't seen Jaron post in the thread, so he may not be interested anymore). We need two to three more players for that game.

Nasr has, what, two people? It may have to be the wild card, unless we can get more people to join it.

I'm intrigued by the premise, but have a lot of reading to do before I'd be able to participate.

Mine does that too. Irks the hell out of me, as it only happens when I have an O or an S after the first letter of a sentence.

I'm not ready yet because I've been having a complete block for my new character .

I searched the thread for Nasr and did a headcount. By going back to july 9th I found Nox_Noxctis, Sixthdeclension, Avoraciopoctules, AlisAtAn (me). Avora (thats a plant, right?  ) last posted about Nasr july 9th.

If everyone are still interested we are good to go.  Big Grin

My character isn't yet complete. >_<

EDIT: The artificer, as written, is a little unclear as to when it can qualify for item creation feats. "For purposes of meeting item prerequisites, an artificer’s effective caster level equals his artificer level +2. If the item duplicates a spell effect, however, it uses the artificer’s actual level as its caster level." Neither of those addresses the matter, really, so I was wondering whether you use Level or Level +2 as the Caster Level for determining when you qualify for item creation feats. Brew Potion, which requires a caster level of 3, is gained at Artificer 2 (either CL 2 or CL 4, based on which you go with), and the feats an artificer gain do not say you ignore the prerequisites (whereas the Monk, and others, do), so I personally feel that it uses Level +2 to determine CL (or else you could not meet the requirements for Brew Potion), but you're the DM, so it's your decision.

Pretty much here and now. AlisAtAn's search shows 3 still active for Nasr, and we need two more for Lands of Ice. Mid-Ocean is set, AFB just needs to get his act together long enough to make heads or tails of a build.

The build is ready to go, I just don't have anything else (name, backstory, etc.) for it.

I'll see what I can do.  I may drop a thread into 339 to see what comes out.  BG pretty much knows about your games.

So, I'm mostly just confused as to which game I'm in at this point and if it's going or not.

Still Lands of Ice, unless you wish to swap games.

A few questions to try and get me more info so I can write my backstory:

Are half-elves more common in any of the lands?

Where is the Diamond Mind discipline mostly practiced? I'm assuming Yafutoma.

I plan on using a Bastard Sword for my Diamond Mind maneuvers, but in ToB it mentions them as Bastard Sword (Katana). Do I have to be weeaboo and use a katana?

Is it okay if I write in the being lost in the Dark Rift for a week prerequisite for the Rift Magi into my backstory (if it makes sense of course). I understand if you would rather it happen in the campaign.

Are you still on planning on Mid-Ocean restarting from the battle with the Darius? How will you be explaining the new characters? How should we integrate them and such?

There doesn't seem to be a Lands of Ice game posted.  I assume we're just restarting it?  If so, PM me when it's actually happening.

I'm ready, although the new build (basically, a replacement of Monk with Martial Artist) is still being worked on. I can finish that up tonight though. As for the other two PCs that were active, the SWVRanger//Cleric isn't returning and the other one doesn't seem to have much interest either. So right now it's AFB's super-half-elf and my glass cannon.

That means we're short of any spellcasting (other than what I can manage with very suboptimal UMD - I've never optimized any UMD usage nor do I know any useful tricks regarding its use) until level 11 (and that's with the meager spellcasting the Rift Magi get) or until someone picks up a moon magic feat. And I'll be covering most ship-related functions with my Cohort-to-be (at lv 6, obviously), so it's still a while before that even happens (not to mention it's going to be built as a dedicated sailor, not an optimized mage of any sort).

The loss of players also means that we're in debt when it comes to actually purchasing the Pinnace. I dumped nearly all my starting gold on it, but that was only 1/3 of its cost.

So um, I'm not sure if we're set. D:

EDIT: Just looked at AFB's build again... scratch that, we have spellcasting. The party... /could/ operate, but it would be nearly impossible to find a ship that operates with only a 2 man crew.

I think it would be easiest to not have our own ship. Sinfire mentioned it being possible to borrow one (ie ship to further the plot).
