I just realized this thread existed. Just posting to let you guys know I'm still here and interested. Need to read the thread though, find out wtf is going on in general.
EDIT: Just found that you changed up handguns a fair bit from before. This hurts my low level damage a fair bit, starting to wonder about my character now.

I'm in just as soon as I get my laptop. I'll just pick up my warblade if that is ok. Maybe some slight rebuilding. Maybe.

Heh, just realized that you've also changed up the rifle. As it stands, Blanche's rifle was made MW because you said a MW rifle would have a cartridge enabled. Now it's an EWP to get the gun I've got equipped.
And AFB, I changed up my character a bit too, namely to having Martial Artist as opposed to Monk and losing/gaining some abilities (a noticeable loss includes the Dark Moon Disciple replacement levels).

I'm going to have to bring up a rules question. Dragon Magic has a pair of soulmelds that grant natural weapons when not bound (Dragon Claws and Dragon Tail), but don't say you can use them as secondary weapons, even when bound to soulmelds. To the point, could I use Dragon Tail as a secondary natural attack, or as the primary attack in a full attack? If so, would it need to be bound to any chakra in particular?

Okay, I just read the thread (with the exceptions of page 28 and 29, which I skimmed because it's nearing on 2 AM and I'm trying to maintain a somewhat normal sleep schedule for once) and I can now see your reasoning behind your reaction to the Red moon combo. I hadn't realized that people had actually proposed characters who could attack 100+ times per round. I always kind of figured that, like some old-fashioned concept of honor and being gentlemen, that that sort of thing was taboo - meant for theoretical discussion, but not meant to actually be played since it has unfortunate effects on fellow players (and the usefulness of their characters), the campaign difficulty, etc.
Anyway, I'll try to put more thought into deciding the other half of my character when I wake up.

With handguns doing 1d4 damage now, I'm downgraded from 1d10+3 to 1d4+3, almost halved my damage per attack. Not to mention the 9 round capacity in a revolver is probably down as well. So... yeah. Been looking at so much 4e stuff lately that it'll take me a little bit to get adjusted back to 3.5. Is there a role that needs filling in the Mid-Ocean group? Preferably not caster, I try to avoid those if I can.

Both of those soulmelds grant normal attacks, despite them saying otherwise. There is only one soulmeld I have ruled only grants its special attacks if you take a specific standard action to use them, and that is the Threefold Mask (look at how it is worded, it mentions both the attack action and the standard action as separate means of using them three attacks). Whether or not the claws/tail attack is your primary or secondary attack depends on if you have a natural weapon due to race. If not, then you must pick one. If so, then that natural weapon is your primary.

This won't come into play until much later, but from the Ask Wizards, concerning the Factotum's Cunning Brilliance (level 19), this statement was made: "It's reasonable to assume that sneak attack is an extraordinary ability. When in doubt, the DM should decide if an unmarked ability qualifies. Anything that lacks a clear, supernatural element should be fair play."
So, my question is this: does a Factotum's Inspiration ability qualify?
I'm still trying to decide on the other half of my character... I don't want to use a Warblade, despite the Intelligence synergy, and I don't feel like using a Wizard, though it would be kind of fun, in my opinion, to be able to simulate Vivi Orunitia with the Deep template on a Human or something (pitch black, large eyes), using Cunning Surge to simulate his Double Black trance ability.
At the same time, I don't want to pick a class with no synergy at all. :-\

Mimicing a Factotum's Inspiration to get more Inspirations points? That is cheap, dirty, and very legal. Remind me to hit you when you use it though. Take my advice. When you can't pick a class to play, write a list of the ones you like and roll for it. Works every time.

Oh, okay. I can deal with real-life stuff easily enough. It's hard to argue with a DM saying, "your character is now dead," though without disrupting the entire game. :couch

If I do that, it usually involves something IC, and will likely kill the party as a direct result.

O_o Wait, what? I'm a little confused.
Another question: Do sunglasses negate circumstance penalties for being "in bright light?" You're still technically "in" the light, so I have to ask.

I mean that I actually give you guys a chance to survive, rather than just "Rock falls, everyone dies" kind of thing. I usually sick one of my pets on the offender, and often end up killing the party as a result of doing so. Note that "one of my pets" refers to something in the level 4 Optimization territory. Usually the higher end of it too. Like a Duskblade//Totemist 20 or Duskblade//Incarnate 20 with Deadly Dancer as the race (Tome of Magic). Then I sit back and watch the carnage of 12 attacks with Shocking Grasp channeled into it. Or Bestow Curse, if I feel particularly cruel. Yes, they do. The sunglasses benefits don't apply if the effect of being in bright light would deal HP damage or apply a penalty to an ability score. So I won't be throwing Vampires wearing sunglasses at you mid-day.

The penalty in question is one to attacks, saves, and checks.

So who is here for the ice setting? Me and Jaron are at least on these forums, not sure if Jaron has seen this yet though. I can talk to Cyclic and see if he's still in.

I can bring Elrock into any setting. I'm just waiting until I get my laptop so that I can actually make big RP posts regularly.

* Starting ECL is 3rd. XP is 4500. LA Buy-offs are at every three HD, not ECL.
As a matter of seeking clarification, does that mean that LA +2 would be bought of at 3 HD and then 6 HD, or at 6 HD and then 9 HD (since there's no sense in asking what it means for LA +1)? Also, I'm leaning toward a non-Mid-Ocean game for the moment since I'm not intending for a means of flight at ECL 3 with my character probably (and, from my reading, that seemed necessary as the options were something like: fly, amulet, jump and risk dying, something else involving falling and lightning and, presumably, pain).
