Game Thread, Chapter 2: Down the Rabbit Hole

"Not just yet, I think. There's still the matter of immortality to discuss."

"Oh yeah... I meant you could do it with a Wish, but you seemed reluctant about that. The safest way would be to change your race into something like your friends here. You could also try something trickier. I won't try to pervert your Wish, but the nature of the magic itself sometimes fulfills itself in unforseen ways. It seeks the easiest, simplest way to satisfy your request, whatever that is. And even Wish has limits, of course."

"You ain't likely to fall over from old age in the next few days Marlowe. But might as well work this shit out now. It'll take me a while to get my flower-eater disguise right. Sammy, gimme a fucking trinket to help. After that, I'm gonna start with the long-term wand buffs. If any body else is doing that, we'll need to coordinat so we can get maximum bang for our copper. Then we'll port over to the portal, do short term buffs, most of us will jump in the pit, and we're gone. Anyone have a burning need to raise some shit about the plan?"

For the disguise check Xuuvosic will use a 'trinket' from Sammael for a +8, if allowable use Divine Insight (SC) for an extra 8 insight bonus, and take 20. That would come to a total of 46 without using any Disguise Self effects, but only taking the normal -2 penalty for different race on the skill check.

Spells marked with a W are from wands (attunement needed?).
Spell marked with a P are personal, so only those with UMD (including Xuuvosic) will have it.

"No, I agree. We should move on." Marlowe turns back to the imp. "Do you suspect that changing race via a Wish would change any of my inherent characteristics?"

While providing Xuuvosic with his requested items, which comically just appear out of nowhere with an audibile *POP*, the imp says "Well... yes. I mean... if I change an orange into an apple, would that change any of its inherent characteristics?"

"I'm not sure that's a valid metaphor. The orange and apple don't have intelligences to speak of." Marlowe frowns thoughtfully. "Let's try something, then. I wish that I would not suffer the detrimental aspects of aging, including but not limited to death, reduced stamina and strength, impaired reflexes and coordination, or deterioration of physical appearance."

Any second now TML is going to come by and pick my Wish to death.

The imp says "OK... I think that one's a little suspect, but let's give it a try...", and then where Marlowe previously stood, you now see a statue of Marlowe.

The imp says "Oops. I'm guessing that's not what he meant. Someone want to Wish him back?"

"Not until we can make a permanent imprint."

"Feel like rubbing it in a bit, huh?" the imp snickers mischievously.

"I'm a cambion. Half the time I rub it in. The other half I'm breathing."

[VennDygrem]

"I'm really not sure we've got the time to play tricks on Marlowe for being... well, a little dense. Therefore, I wish for Marlowe's most recent wish to be undone immediately. Now, can we get back on track, here?"

[Kuroimaken]

"Spoilsport." Raoul jokes.

"I wish to have a scroll with the picture of Marlowe's blunder faithfully painted in it."

[PhaedrusXY]

"Done, and done." the imp says, and Marlowe is restored to the flesh and at the same time a portrait of Marlowe in statue form appears in Raoul's hands.

Marlowe feels a bit stiff, and notices that everyone seems to have rearranged themselves slightly, but otherwise doesn't know what happened.

Marlowe frowns in slight confusion. "What..." He trails off, noticing the portrait. "Ah. I see. Having a bit of a nostalgic moment, Raoul?" He shakes his head in faint amusement. "Dear me. I really shall have to be more careful in the future. For now, though, perhaps it would be best if we simply moved on."

Yeah, I might be taking a slight liberty by assuming that I can see the picture, but whatever.

[Agita]

Ris-Janna shudders. "Remind me to... never ask you for immortality. I've had enough of... statues."

[Kuroimaken]

"...remind me to ask later if Wish can instill an undeniable feeling in someone." He jokes slightly.

No biggie. The very purpose of the picture was showing it to Marlowe later.

[Bozwevial]

"So, now that we've dealt with the rock, aha, perhaps we should move on to the hard place?"

[VennDygrem]

"Yes, it seems we're going to have to think on our feet, here. I think I'm ready to go, or as ready as I'm likely to be."

[Kuroimaken]

"We'll just get the short-term and long-term buff supplies ready and be on our way."
