Hmm... could you combine the Shapeshift and Avenger variants?  Big Grin

You'd need to get Animal Companion twice   Otherwise, add in Venomfire, and you're a Fury/Rabies hybrid!  Gogo Kiba!

ok, that's it, whose going to start a diablo d20 PbP?

Are you going to do a cow level run?

Just remember, your animal Hit Dice do count as levels when determining your final character level, as well as the +2/+3 LA. For instance, a natural lycanthrope with a 5HD animal form and one level of fighter would be an 9th-level character.

If it seems unfairly weak compared to most 9th-level characters, well, the rules for playing monsters were never particularly well-balanced.

Depending on your starting level (what is your starting level? 6?) you might be able to create a better-balanced "lycanthrope" through shapeshifting races and classes.

The tier system in a nutshell:
Tier 6: A cartographer.
Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.
Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
Tier 1: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything and the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.

Read the OP, the whole party is playing lycanthropes.  It is required.

Edit: Almost forgot the whole reason I entered this thread.  LINKY!  Not sure how useful it will be, but you might get something out of it.

Edit part deux: Wow, I kind of crapped out on that guide didn't I?  Time to add something else to my to-do list.

If your DM allows it, I'd go for Targeteer first, since it's damage is not limited to flat-footed targets.

Targeteer is in Dragon Magazine 310 if I recall correctly.
