Not to be a language snob or anything SDK, but I think you're looking for "C'est" rather than "se". I speak a little french myself. "C'est" literally means "It is", "this is", or "that is" depending on the context. Oh dear.*runs from rapidly growing orb of pink light which appeared from a magic circle over Kuro's head* Seriously, I can understand you preferring the Japanese voices, but the localisation was pretty good. Dub!Tao gets to say things like "Do not want!", "Om nom nom" and "Get in mah belly!" while Dub!Tager is just awesome. Jin and Hakumen sound saner - it works in the second case, not as much in the former. Ragna's VA is good, but can't stand up to Kyon. Oh, and Dub!Arakune is Spike Spencer. Who gets to say "I m stn r n aw y!" |

Sorry dude, but she just doesn't cut it for me. She lacks the quality of Noel's japanese VA that makes her Noel - the graceful, young little stumble in her voice. Christina Vee sounds more mature than Noel actually is. Dub Tager was okay. He did well at portraying Tager's character as far as there being brains behind the muscle, but it takes the original to do BOTH the brain and muscle equally well. Dub Ragna doesn't sound annoyed enough. Irritated, sure, but not annoyed. Dub Tao is missing nyasu. Does not want! Dub Hakumen doesn't sound deep enough. More like Jin with a Vader voice modulator on his face. Dub Jin doesn't sound gay, and moreover, sounds crass in the English VA. The Japanese dub has him acting as haughty and superior - he insults people with relative class, though there's no disguising the homosexual undertones. It works much better for the character, really. I didn't bother to check Dub Arakune. And speaking of Kyon |

Dub Hakumen doesn't sound deep enough. More like Jin with a Vader voice modulator on his face. Funny thing that. The Japanese VA based his Hakumen voice on Zero from Code Geass. The English version of Hakumen sounds like the English version of Zero. Many Japanese CG fans actually prefer Johnny Yong Bosch's Zero voice to Jun Fukuyama's, claiming that Fukuyama's incredibly hammy performance makes Lelouch sound too old. Side-note: Japanese Jin/Hakumen is also Simon. Then there's Bang's voice. He's not as hot blooded in English, but he's definitely got Idiot Hero down. |
