Ixen hits the goblin for 2 damage! It is still standing
Goblin 3 (at U 12) reloads and fires at Aepa -> d20 + 3 = 19. The bolt passes through the bushes -> d100 = 79. The attack hits for -> 1d6 = 1 damage.
Aepa is hit for 1 damage!

Did you mean the U 12 goblin? E 26 is out of range. Either way, sadly, the attack misses due to concealment.
Goblin 1 (at E 26) reloads his crossbow then fires at Thorden -> d20 + 3 = 12. The attack misses!
Goblin 1 then takes a five-foot step back to E 25.

Grizz slams his foot down once more, this time bringing up a cloud of smaller, sharp, pointed rocks. Taking a deep breath, he uses both palms to forcefully push them in the direction of the DD12 Goblin.

Goblin 1 (E 25) is still up, but doesn't look too good. Goblin 1 takes 2 more damage!
Goblin 3 (U 12) reloads and fires yet again at Aepa -> d20 + 3 = 6. A miss!

Move to U18 and blast the goblin at U12 with a geyser. Point Blank Shot kicks in at this range. To Hit, Damage, Percentile (1d20+6, 1d6+1, 1d100=[16, 6], [5, 1], [52])

Serias hits goblin 3 and it goes down!
* At this point, I think I'd probably keep the fight realistic, because it's probably what would happen in a real game. *
The remaining two goblins surrender!
(One is at 1 HP, and the other is staggered at 0. I figure any DM not having them "fight to the death" would have had them surrender/retreat at this point. I should probably do likewise for these tests.)
So, any comments so far, either to how the fight went, or for how it was run (in game/out of game analysis)? This one was definitely tough from the start in that the goblins were hiding, they started out of range (so you couldn't move and attack on the surprise round), and they had concealment from their starting locations.
Still, it looked like you guys plugged away and took them out. I don't think, over all, there was anything crazy going on with the dice rolls this fight; there were no crits or anything to skew the results.
I'll probably see if I can set another encounter up a while later, but it will likely be seven or eight hours.

good fight over all. Though my concern is healing for level 1. We have no way short of days of rest until the Hydromage hits level 2. If we go into fight 2 within 24 hrs of fight 1 some of us won't be up to full health, but if we get into another fight in 30 seconds we are just as ready minus the HP.

Yeah. Level 1 is tough for any party, though, so that doesn't really affect us except for the lack of a cleric or druid with lesser vigor.
As for my character, he's actually pretty good so long as he isn't caught flat-footed. At this level it's nearly impossible for the average enemy to hit AC 22, but then again I'm also not necessarily "typical" either.

my character i feel will be significantly safer once i begin to gain mobility advantage. You're right though levels 1-3 always seem to be the most difficult for every party. One crit from a monster and there is a fair chance you aren't getting back up.

That's one reason as a DM, for the first couple levels, I don't have monsters use weapons with a x3 or greater crit. x2 is bad enough at these levels. Regarding healing, I don't know how we want to handle that. At level two and beyond, you'll all be at full HP unless the next encounter is right afterward. I suppose I could try to run you guys against four EL 1* encounters for the day, but I'm pretty sure we'll suffer some casualties by fight three or four. Of course, under different circumstances (i.e., not being ambushed ), you'll likely fare better. What do you guys think? Do you want to start the next fight at full HP, or do you want to see how things go afterward? If we don't start at full HP, I should probably award treasure or something, which could, in theory, be used to obtain healing at "town". CLW spells (or Lesser Vigor) from level 1 cleric NPCs should be 10 gp a piece. Originally, I was planning to give you guys money when you level up to adjust WBL from a time-saving perspective. How do you want to handle the next fight? * By EL 1, I mean as close as I can get for a five-person party.
