"Whatcha got there Dave?"
Oh, some damaged LasePistol packs the military returned.  I'm gonna try to make a few good ones out of all these damaged ones.
"Whoah! Careful there Dave, you touch the wrong bits of a charged pack and you'll ride the lightning."
Heh, yeah, I'd be one crispy critter thats for sure... hard to believe each one of these lil guys holds enough juice to do 2dice damage 50 times.  I'm fine, all I got to do is not touch that terminal there to avoid ... taking ... 100 dice...
"..."
Go get a test rat while I put a short conductor on the terminals
"This is gonna be sooooo cooool"

Zeus Stick PL6
Simple Melee Weapon, Single Use, Touch Attack
Damage 20d8 Electrical
Critical None
Size Tiny
Weight 1.5lb
PDC 10 (+0)
Barely larger than a standard LasePistolPack, the Zeus Stick is simplicity in the utmost: With one button & one LED to indicate its Active/Safe status, you just turn it on and touch it to something you want to Ride The Lightning.  The entire engery store of the enclosed powerpack is dumped on target in that one zap, upsetting the internals of the pack to the point that it cant be recharged, making this a disposable weapon.  When not needed just push the button again to make it safe, and... now this is important... verify the red Active LED is not lit before placing it back in your pocket.

Like a hand tazer... for god

AntiTank Dagger
aka: MartyrMaker, McDagger, FistOfGod
This adapted AniTank grenade was developed by low tech folks for deployment to fanatical suicide troops against fortified positions & armor.  Simple put, it is a AT Shapecharge with a handle containing the triggering mechanism, transforming it into a melee weapon... much to the detriment of the user.  Just arm it, then run upto the target & stab to detonate.  Clearly a OneWayTrip weapon, no non-suicidal troops would employ this tool.

All standard melee weapon modifiers apply, but strength based damage bonuses do not apply- it is a shapecharge explosive not aided by user strength.  Precision based bonuses fully apply, as well as a possible +1 CritThreat with sucessful KnowlegeTactics, another for user choosing to forgo any save, and a possible 3rd +1 CritThreat if the user chooses to take Double Damage.  The less time you spend trying to stay alive is more time seeing a sweetspot of the object to hit.

AntiTank Dagger pl5
aka: MartyrMaker, McDagger, FistOfGod
SingleUse Melee Shapecharge Weapon
Proficiency: Simple
Size: Medium
Weight: 3lb
Damage: 10d6 10'r DC15 +Ignore10 Hardness on hit target
Critical: 20 x2
Special: Suicidal troops only,
--- Freeaction prior, KnowlegeTactics DC20 for +1 Critical Threat
--- Freeaction prior, Declare Forego Save for +1 Critical Threat
--- Freeaction prior, Declare Take DoubleDamage for +1 Critical Threat

I'd like to see that weapon statted. I've been thinking of including Gyrojet weapons in the WW2 (alternate reality) campaign I'm GM'ing. Are you up for that, 'stabbist? That'd be great!

Uh, the rifle or the rotary?

Personal Temajet Minigun
8mm rocket GasOp Rotary Firearm,  ManPortable
Size: Large
Wt: 30lb + 20lb AmmoBay
Damage: Variable 2d2~2d8, Ref DC20
Range Inc: 60'
Area of Effect: 20x20
Ammo: 500
ROF: Auto 50/100
Special: Damage increases with range from the muzzle, 2d2 initial & pick up a die size each 5'sq upto 2d8, then stays at 2d8.

Personal Temajet Rifle
10mm rocket Leveraction Firearm
Size: Large
Wt: 6lb
Damage: Variable 2d2~2d10
Range Inc: 70'
Ammo: 8
ROF: single ( or semi, GM discretion)
Special: Damage increases with range from the muzzle, 2d2 initial & pick up a die size each 5'sq upto 2d10, then stays at 2d10.

Temajet BattleRifle
12mm rocket GasOp Rifle
Size: Large
Wt: 12lb
Damage: Variable 2d4~2d12
Range Inc: 100'
Ammo: 10 blockclip
ROF: Semi
Special: Damage increases with range from the muzzle, 2d4 initial & pick up a die size each 10' upto 2d12, then stays at 2d12.  This is a heavy duty Temajet rifle for close combat as well as range work, initial rocket pulse is more intense for better performance up close at the cost of recoil & gunweight.

Exactly 'stabbist! You're the man.

I read somewhere that it took around 20-30 meters before the projectile reached maximum velocity. Maybe it should be 10/15' instead of 5/10'?
See, now that is the best part of the online rule developement,
you can make any slight adjustments you need to fit the style of play you want.

Sure, I'd still go with 1sq for the 8mm(pistol/minigun), but use 2sq for the 10mm Carbine & 3sq for the 12mm MBR.  I figure since d20 is shrinking all ranges, the acceleration zone should get shrunk too.  Here is a range chart using 5/10/15 and again with 10/15/20 fet to gain a die size.
Pistol  Carbine     MBR     Pist    Carb   MBR
2d2     0'     0'                0'    0'
2d4     5'    10'       0'      10'   15'   0'
2d6    10'    20'      15'      20'   30'   20'
2d8    15'    30'      30'      30'   45'   40'
2d10    -     40'      45'      -     60'   60'
2d12    -     -        60'       -      -   80'

ok, lets see if we can make you someting usable D&D style based on the xm214 & the m134

Personal Minigun
5mm Rotary Firearm, ManPortable
Size: Large
Wt: 20lb + 40lb AmmoBay&Batt (future technology variable)
Damage: 4d6, Ref DC20
Range Inc: 70'
Area of Effect: 20x20
Ammo: 500
ROF: Auto 50/100

Squad Minigun
6mm Rotary Firearm, Tripod
Size: Huge
Wt: 30lb + 50lb AmmoBay&Batt
Damage: 4d8, Ref DC20
Range Inc: 100'
Area of Effect: 20x20
Ammo: 500
ROF: Auto 50/100

Heavy Minigun
7mm Rotary Firearm, Fixed
Size: Huge
Wt: 45lb + 2x 50lb AmmoBay
--- No Battery, fixed emplacement plugin
Damage: 4d10, Ref DC20
Range Inc: 150'
Area of Effect: 20x20
Ammo: 2x 500
ROF: Auto 50/100

Each of these miniguns has the following:
Ammo&Batt change takes a Full Round Action, MEA with Feat
Autofire 20x20 target takes 100rnds, -4tohit (negated by feat)
Burstfire SingleTarget takes 50rnds, see Burstfire feat (+2dice -4Tohit)
Future technology apps: PL6 -33% Ammo wt, PL7 -50% all wt

<edit Append>

If you really wanted the PowerArmor aproach, from d20 Future:
T-95 CAVALCADE CHAINGUN (PL 6)More compact and powerful than the M-9 Barrage chaingun, the M- 95 Cavalcade has multiple barrels that fire large-caliber ammunition, dealing 7d6 points of ballistic damage on a successful hit. The base unit has enough room for four 50-round ammo belts. Each additional equipment slot devoted to ammo storage has room for six more ammo belts. Each additional ammo belt has a purchase DC of 10.
Equipment Slots: 1, must be hand (or arm if Large), arm, or shoulders.
Activation: Attack action.
Range Increment: 60 feet.
Target: Single target within 600 feet, or autofire.
Duration: Instantaneous.
Saving Throw: None.
Purchase DC: 21 for weapon, 10 for ammo belt.
Restriction: Restricted (+2).
Now you may notice that in the future, with all the improvements in gun technology, the range they gave large caliber Huge chaingun is a mere 60'... if you replace the entire arm of a Large Mech with this gun, it only gets a 60' RI.  In relation to guns without the future nerf, the current 50cal Machinegun (about 80 years old now) gets 110' RI.

If you wanted something more or less too big for what you defined the mission as:
50BMG Rotary Gun System

While the system itself is complex, the user interface is still the Point & Click variety, so be careful where you point it.

Wheelchair Gadgets, updating & expanding list

Wheelchair Hardpoint Type1 (pl5)
PDC12, Lic+1
Must attach to an unused Armrest/Side, you can mount a fixed fire firearm (sizeLarge or smaller) to the chair with this Hardpoint.  Kit includes all required linkages for remote trigger to user specified chair location, and deployable overshoulder gunsight.
Firearm must be removed from Hardpoint (RepairDC10, Fullround) for reloading.

Wheelchair Hardpoint TypeII (pl5)
PDC14, Mil+3
Same as TypeI, but mounts a dumbfire rocket (LAW/AT4/RPG7)

Wheelchair Hardpoint Concealed (pl5)
PDC14, Res+2
Same as TypeI, but mounts a Medium or smaller weapon in a concealed mount.  Search DC22. Firearm must be removed from Concealed Hardpoint (RepairDC12, 2Fullround) for reloading.

Transporter Rockets(pl5)
PDC14, Res+2
Singleshot rockets that can either mount to both chair Armrest/Sides or Back & Bottom.  As a Move Action, the user picks a single direction of travel, and travels 100' in that direction.  Any adverse terrain cause rolls as if traveling 4x base move, and are rolled with a -5 InsaneContraption Modifier.  At the end of the travel, retro thrusters blast and the chair is stopped.  Anyone in the square behind the chairs direction of travel prior too, or infront of the chair after, the rocket blast causes 2d6 Fire Damage RefSave DC15 all/none.

Escape Rocket Boosters (pl5)
PDC13
Same mounting as Transporter Rockets, but lack the Retro Thrust to stop the chair after it moves.  The chair finishes its 100' move, but maintains a 100' move velocity in the direction of travel, automaticly taking a doublemove each subsequent round.  This speed drops by 20' each round by friction, and the user may attempt Braking (Ref/Str DC20) to stop the chair at speeds over 2x character base move, Braking may be done as part of a move action at speeds lower than 2x base.

Ejection Seat
Sometimes having wheels can let you escape situations the pedestrians cant, and sometimes you are just as hosed as the pedestrians.  But not any more, with the MaxiSlammer 14G Ejection Seat added to your wheelchair.  With just the press of a button you get catapulted over 60' forward, easily clearing walls & obsticles as much as 20' tall.  Now who is stuck in the yard with the zombies & dogs, Mr. My-Legs-Work?
Ejection Seat (pl5)
PDC20
Must mount to chair Seat, does not interfere with Bottom location equipment.  MEA to activate, instant & Non-Provoking travel to 60', can clear 20' obsticles that are between 10' & 40' from launch point.  At the end of travel, user is Prone & legs are paralyzed.  This is nothing new to Wheelchair users, but the impact of the 14G acceleration will crush the vertebre of users inducing paralyzed legs.
Optional Remote Trigger PDC7, radio remote control for the Ejection, 200' range.

Tactical Commanders Computer (pl5)
PDC24
Mounts to chair Back or Bottom, this is a modified GPS enabled computer/pda with remote user interface to user specified location.  Includes WiFi, voice radio comms with optional headset (pdc6), Hud Goggles with laser ranging (pdc14), and choice of LandWarrior/Unisoldier/733tKilzzors/MahdiJihadi/ShadowCaster battlefield awareness software.  Extra 24hr battery PDC10, or recharge by Wheel Generator gadget

Wheel PTO Generator (pl5)
PDC(8)
No mount slot.  A simple DC generator engaging the chair wheels to power equipment or recharge batteries. Normal operation of chair can charge 1 Laptop battery per 8hr day, or charge Chair Battery with 5 8hr days use.

Chair Hardening (pl5)
Bulletproof material pannels are bolted on to the Sides, Bottom, & Back of the chair, but take up none of these positions. Chair Def bonuses corespond to the materials used, along with price.
-- Hardening I : Kevlar Pads, -0' Move, +3Def, PDC10
-- Hardening II: Kevlar Pannels, -5 Move, +5Def, PDC14
-- Hardening III: Steel Pannels, -10Move, +8Def, PDC14
-- Hardening IV: Ceramic Plates, -10Move, +9Def, PDC17
Hinged Front Pannels may be added to any level of Hardening for +1Def, +2PDC

Rolling Research Lab (pl5)
Standard: PDC20
Advanced: PDC24
This computer assisted data gathering & processing array takes the Chair Back, where it mounts observation & investigation instruments and equipment on counterbalanced arms to reach user desireable locations.
Standard model is equipped to read in the visible spectrum with 50x Telescopic and 5000x Microscopic computer aided display, as well as Sub-IR, Passive IR, and UV.  Also equipped is density sounding sonar (50'), Motion Detector (50'), and Cupholder.
Grants +4Circ to Spot, Listen, Search rolls, +2 Investigate & DisableDevice, and a +1Circ bonus to Initiative rolls for Suprise if in use when a Suprise Event occurs.

Advanced Model includes all features of the Standard, mounts to Chair Bottom as well as Back, and is equipped with Milimeter Radar(1000'), Ectoplasmic Imaging (25'), ResonanceSpectragraph(5') and RangedPolygraph(5'), and a more powerful computer array.
Grants +5Circ to Spot,Listen, +6 Search, +4 Investigate, +2Research, +4 DisableDevice, and the Initiative as per Standard Model.

Area Denial Defense (pl5)
PDC10
Mounts to ChairBottom, the system dispenses a set of caltrops in each of the adjacent squares as an Attack Action.  System can be modified to not place caltrops in any given square (Repair/CraftMech DC15 1min).

Point Defense Array (pl5)

Yeah,
it would have been nice to have the damage charts give numbers for Medium and Total, because of soo many bigger weapons getting Overpenetration & energy dump problems.

This is modeled by how we dont tie dead bodies to the hulls of our APCs for supplemental armor: Bodies hardly slow slugs bigger than 50BMG down at all.... but they do solve stability & boyancy issues when swimming the vehicle cross lakes.

It takes an engineering mind to spot the loss of Rigor in a Load Bearing Corpse will lead structural compromise. LBC's need contstant rotation with short duty cycle.
"... And Knowing is half the battle"

IF I only use bodies I find that are already dead,
I dont kill nobody,
That means I'm not evil.... right?
And because the whole team will benefit from my actions, that makes it kinda for a greater good.

For some reason my GM didnt see that line of arguement my Paladin was pushing as how it wasnt evil. My paladin was just thinking outside the box.

Hmm... what would happen if they put a few inches of ballistics gelatin on the outside of body armor? The 5.56 usually fragments within the first few inches, so the armor might catch it.
So instead of Dragon Hide armor we need to be investigating MarshmallowPeep Hide?
First tumble the slug, then stop it.  Egad, Brilliant in its simplicity.... and tastey too.

How are we gonna stop the troops from eating their armor?
But more importantly, what if it rains?

This is gonna need a little more work at the theory level before we try to raise some startup capitol....  Lets get a gov research grant to do the feasibility study.   If DOD wont fund us, maybe we can get soem NEA money by calling it art in the medium of sugar.

- - -

Would .223 duplex loads using plated ball bearings need to tumble for better damage? If the spherical ammo was tumbling, how would you know?

to be fair i quite like them as an alternative to the 40mm pellet shells i recon its fine. yes .22 ain't got uber penatration but how many folks run around in flak jackets. shotguns don't exactly break records for pen either.
can ya get 40mm solid slug

Too much mass(wt) for really good balistic performance.
Sure they come in solids, but they are for LessThanLethal uses... which is good, because the gun is not a cannon & cant thump out 40mm Bullets more powerfull than a 10ga.

If you wanted plain KE slugs, best bet is to sabot a 50BMG Steel or muzzleload a Sabot KE Rod (arrow/spike) ala riflegrenade style. The thin chamber walls just dont have what it takes to get big FPS from anything more than regular shotgun weight projectiles.

But it would be fun to see it used at 40mm modified spigot-style mortar / riflegrenade. Muzzle load something almost RPG7-esque down the front of the 40mm that gets shot by the 40's firing pin. It leaves the barrel at 300fps, then kicks in stageII to whooosh it upto 1000fps, and terminal proximity fires the booster KE Subcal Driver to really spike the crud out of something at 6000fps.

Now, if you get that to replace the 10mm Tungsten KE Spike with a .40sw Hollowpoint bullet hitting at 6000fps, that will get you far more than +2 damage

uh.. why are you guys lookin at me like that... oh, right... its that Reality thing you keep talking about coming back to haunt me again, isnt it.

Quote
If you rebuild the end with the rocket motor in it (It's a foot too long, and back blast would be a *****) you could use actual RPG-7 rounds. It is a 40mm launcher, after all. RPG-7s go about 900m with no problem, with half the motor, maybe 3-400m?

Just remember not to shoot the rifle while you have one loaded

Am I the only one who read the thread title and imagined someone being shot by an actual beehive and then stung by all the angry bees inside?
That BeeHive ammo has a real short shelf life in the ammo can: Avoid buying ww2 Surplus,
and the bees just do not want to co-operate with you in the magazine.

That, and you take a -2 on all your stealth rolls from the constant buzzing.

What about attack dogs that shoot killer bees out of their mouths?
Do I need a bATF tax stamp for the dogs,
or do the dogs have to get the stamp for the bees?

Does the civilian model come as a Semi: Only one bee comes out of the dog per bark? And without a detatchable magazine or bayonet lug it might still be CA legal.

well i ask for a 40mm solid slug an then i come back to find under slung anti personnel dogs?

my underslung 40mm boffors cannon sawn off

You gonna have ole WhatsHerName follow you around with your reloads?

But this does demonstrate what I mean by 40mmGL is not a cannon... Bofors is a cannon.  Maybe get a sleeve insert like the H&R shotguns so the m79 can fire 20mm cannonshells. Not an aluminium core with steel barrel, you want all the weight of a full steel 40mm x 15" rod bored & chambered for 20mm.

to find under slung anti personnel dogs
well, yeah... duh. The bees are terrible for AntiTank work... they rate like quarter-mils of eRHA penetration.

I think Ole WhatsHerName must be an NPC Hireling.

Upon closer inspection, she must have sold out to your enemies,
she is about to hand you dummy drill ammo when you need to reload in a firefight. Always play your henchmen as PCs to avoid this situation, it is well worth the hit to XPs to stop this from happening.

Would a Nuke MIRV fall into our discussion limits of what constitutes "Shotgun"?
What about 8" arty m449 APICM that turns into "Uh-oh, Its raining grenades"

its a 30mm airburst round that dumps 152 tungsten projectiles, delivered at a rate of 700 rounds a minute
surely that puts me back on top

Belly,

While the bursting munition is nice, 700rpm of 132 pellet bursts...
Just what kind of sand grain sized pellets(cylinders) do you fit 130+ of in just a wee lil 30mm shell?

Now, if it was 700rpm of 27 "16d Nails" getting bursted onto guys... well, then you'd have something.

Quote
ok well lets do some simple maths a 30 second burst at a unit of infantry will dump roughly 350 rounds their way. this in turn will shower them in 46,200 pellets and as their designed to air burst the fox hole you jump in will do sweet FA
i don't think my shotgun is that in effectual, granted 30 secs is a big burst i just wanted to show off the silly numbers ya can produce.
a 5 second burst still dumps 7778 pellets down range

Oh, I agree with the concept,
just the appilcation of choosing high count pellets rather than high mass pellets.

Mr Vice Pres shot his friend with how many pellets?
Good thing they were small & not 00buck, otherwise the guy would have been in trouble. As with most cases, size matters when getting hit with shot.

A pelet in the arm
does very little harm,
A pellet in the head,
makes you quite dead.
-- Fred the Singing Bandit (c. LEG)

We have Birdshot, and Buckshot,
what we need it DudeShot for tactical situations. Like a charge of Live 22cb ammo, that after the pattern hits you, it shoots you 8 times from the inside

Quote
i'm pretty sure a 12 gauge doesn't pig stick ya with 7778 pellets, if ya barrelled the little girl wi a shotgun like that she'd be mush to be crude about the whole thing.
also there tungsten darts so they have a higher pen profile and velocity then shoty pellets.

the real key though is the time delay airburst, if ya get rid of that then stabbist you get what you want
a round that enters the body then forces 120 darts out of you into ya squad mates.

See, we worked out the kinks in the new ammo in a week or two, why couldnt they figure that out. This would also lend itself toward UXB delay use, give the 30mm usable munitions for mission dependant AntiAircraft/AnitTank/AntiPersonel/AnitiMedic roles.

Technically, we didnt shoot at the medics or hospital... not our fault they tried to remove live ord by surgury.

"Dammet Jim, I'm a Doctor not an EOD Robot"

Evil?
I get the same thing from my GM all the time.

I'll tell you the same I told my GM:
I'm not Evil, I'm Lawful.... I just follow different laws.
I told the prisoner that I'd shoot him if he didnt talk, and being lawful, I am bound to shoot him when he doesnt talk.... not my fault that guy decided to take secrets to his grave.

Besides, those Medics knew the risks when they signed up as Medic.
If they wanted something safer than Medic, maybe they shoulda chose DoorGunner. Cause the odds of me engaging a doorgunner in a firefight are slim, while the odds of me engagiong a Medic in a Bombing are pretty good.
