So, Venn. You want the kill on RW6 (and then I'd go after RW3) or should I take it? Though I guess it's easier for you to kill whoever you want than for me. We should also try to talk to one of them just before killing him to give Bowen an excuse for Ominous Foreshadowing.

Yeah, I was thinking the one over near me is hardly hurt. He'll probably be the last to drop. So let's talk to him.

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.

Don't forget that all of the dropped Hobgoblins except for one aren't actually dead yet, just dying

I do believe he's actually still at full health. And yes, he's been around since the beginning. He's a tough little bugger

Maybe we should let him go. Then perhaps Bowen would make him a recurring NPC and we'd eventually develop injokes about how badass the guy is. Don't forget that all of the dropped Hobgoblins except for one aren't actually dead yet, just dying So we just sit there waiting until they bleed out onto the ground and kill any that stand up? Alternatively, bears can just area-mercykill them with his breath.

Hehe, awesome What I meant with the dying guys was that it's not a disaster if you accidentally kill one of the two remaining hobbos since you can always stabilize one of the dying ones for later interrogation

We also have a hound to put down. Anyway, I guess it's easier for you to get to RW 3, so I'll take care of the bugger next to you. At class right now though, will get to it soon.

Actually, since the green stuff is difficult terrain, I'd be hard-pressed to find a way to move+attack. Well, I guess I could charge with my burrow speed.

Creatures cannot charge or run while burrowing. http://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#burrowI think you can jump while charging, though...

Aw. Well, I can't charge through difficult terrain in the first place. I can probably jump down the slope to avoid spending 4 squares of movement on it, but that's about it.

So wait, the grass next to the trees is difficult terrain as well? That's odd. In that case I'll go after RW3 and you can take care of RW6.

So wait, the grass next to the trees is difficult terrain as well? That's odd. Bowen lettig me gain concealment in L17 indicates that, yes, that seems to be undergrowth too. Which makes me doubt why anyone would build a house there - speaking of which, we need to search that.

The book could have made a bit more sense...

Ok... I know we already started, but... could I rework my character slightly? And are/can we using partial save and BAB progression? I didn't ask before because it wouldn't have mattered, but I'd like to swap out one of my existing cleric levels for Church Inquisitor.

Retraining is fine (but after this combat ). We're not using partial BAB/saves though. EDIT: I don't want to completely ignore fluff though, although reflavoring is fine. IIRC Church Inquisitors are members of an order/organisation, right? Any ideas for that? I just want to keep some level of fluff, I hope you understand

Well, I had in his fluff that he joined a cult that worships one of the progenitor dragons (other than Kyber, obviously). I kind of waffled back and forth about whether it was Syberis or Eberron, but said Eberron in the end because it fits better with the whole "earth" theme he has going, but I could go either way if you'd prefer Syberis. He lived with them for a bit as an escaped slave, and then was recaptured.
I could just add that he uncovered a traitor that was going to turn the rest of them over to their former masters (the whole cult/colony was escaped slaves), but he was too late to stop them. So he was re-enslaved, and that's when they added the mineral warrior template to him as a kind of joke (oh, you worship Eberron now, eh?), and to make him tougher in the arena. (Or maybe I could say it was a "gift" from Eberron?)
I'd also like to reflavor his Animal Devotion feat to be "Dragon Devotion". It would work exactly the same, but the fluff and physical manifestations would be dragon-themed instead of animal.

Holy crap... the skills are killing me. I realize now that I couldn't even get into Ruby Knight Vindicator with my current setup until WAY late in the game. So screw it. I'm just going to take the 2nd level of Crusader instead to get Thicket of Blades at 8th level (or maybe just take it with the martial stance feat). I probably won't bother with Church Inquisitor, either, as I don't want to lose another point of BAB. I'll just stick with my current character, and retrain the ranks I'd dumped into Hide to try and get into RKV into something else. I'll take 3 levels of Prestige Paladin and then just more cleric with the Holy Mount feat.
