Ok, so who knows who? Unless Bowen has plans for how we all met/meet, it will probably make his job a bit easier if at least some of us know each other. And... Flumph isn't exactly the kind of guy who travels around alone. Without someone to basically act like a parent towards him, he'd probably get into all kinds of trouble. He would definitely appreciate a canine companion, also. (Awww... good puppy! Let Flumph scratch behind your ears!  ) I'm going to RP him a bit like Sloth from the Goonies. He's actually average intelligence, but a bit... stunted... emotionally, and since I'm headed towards picking up Deformity: Madness soon... I figure I might as well get a head start on RPing it.  And since I said he was previously a slave to Rakshasa in the demon wastes, is there anything I should actually know about Rakshasa in Eberron, or the Demon Wastes, that might be important? I haven't actually read up on either much, but I remember that Rakshasa are actually supposed to be some kind of ancient demonic faction that opposes the dragons of argonesse, right? I know Agita's loli character in the Death of an Artist thread was also from there. Any pointers? |

It's cool, I've got plenty of stuff to do as well.
And yes, I forgot to mention it so far, sorry 'bout that, but I would prefer if you guys have been traveling together for a while, or are at least traveling together at the start of the campaign.
Any ideas for character hooks? I'm all ears.
Potential ones I have so far (of the top of my hat):
-Rumors of (an increase in) bandit raids in the area
-Rumors or old map of ruins possibly containing undiscovered treasure
-Hired as mercenaries to investigate rumors about goblinoid raids originating in Darguun and crossing the border (the adventure takes place in eastern Breland, close to the border)
-Vision by superior (if character is a member of a church) causes said superior to send the PC to investigate
-Message delivery to someone in the area
Got anything else?

Come to think of it... that's probably enough for me to know, since I'm playing someone with the mentality of a 5 year old. It should be interesting RPing him having Collector of Stories, though. Being a(n ex-)soldier, my character could've been commissioned by the Karrn military to do a short mission on behalf of Breland as a token proof of friendship or something?
As for the Rakshasas, the Rakshasa Rajahs were basically the big bads of Eberron prehistory (like, a million+ years ago). They were, IIRC, mostly based in modern Khorvaire and fought the dragons of Argonessen and the couatls of Sarlona. They're basically Eberron's version of the Demon Lords and Archdevils from other settings (for example, Demogorgon would be a powerful Rajah in Eberron). In the end, the couatls sacrificed themselves in order to seal the Rajahs in Khyber.
Other than that, what I did in preparation for coming up with a background for Lucy was read up on the Demon Wastes section of the Player's Guide to Eberron and that's about it.
