It can only be attributable to human error.

Reading through this handbook has made me want to play a Human Vow of Poverty/Peace/Non-Violence Healer sometime (of course, in a low-level campaign). And the White Mage looks better on there than the Healer itself anyway.  Wink

There's an annoying bit on Domain Staffs that makes them more or less useless: the spells need to be on your list to use them.  You may want to basically omit that entire section.

There are better uses for UMD if you ask me.  Like custom runestaves so you only have the spells you want.

That and UMD is not a class skill.

Luckily, domain icons from Faiths of Eberron don't have the requirement!

I actually don't have Faiths of Eberron - do domain icons function identically to domain staves?

DOMAIN ICON
The domain icon grants you the ability to “swap out” your own spells for spells of one specific domain.
Description: This appears to be a normal holy symbol, albeit made of solid silver. It seems unusually
bright, as though recently polished.
The icon is comfortably cool to the touch, almost soothing. When in use, it grows brighter still, as though
shining with its own internal light.
Prerequisite: Each domain icon is attuned to a specific god, as well as a specifi c domain of that god. If you do not
worship that god, you cannot use the item.
Activation: To activate the icon, you merely hold it while casting a prepared divine spell. If you do so, and if
you wish the domain icon to function, it does so.
Effect: Three times per day, the icon allows you to substitute a domain spell of equal or lower level for the
spell you are actually casting. For instance, if you have a domain icon attuned to the Fire domain, you could cast
any 2nd-level divine spell, and substitute either burning hands or produce flame. These spells function in all ways
as though you had cast them (caster level, save DC, and the like).
Aura/Caster Level: Moderate evocation. CL 7th.
Construction: Craft Wondrous Item, imbue with spell ability, creator must have access to the domain to which the
icon is attuned, creator must worship the deity to which the icon is attuned, 5,000 gp, 400 XP, 10 days.
Weight: 1 lb.
Price: 10,000 gp.

I wish I could remember the exact build my DM had made for a Healer, but he had levels of Cleric and Combat Medic as well, and a feat selection that let him use his turn undead ability into healing power at the same time, so during undead fights he was pumping out tons of turning damage as well as keeping us alive at the same time, hardly ever having to use his his cure spells, which were also insanely powerful. But the only reason he made him was because he was an evil bastard who loved to take his players to the brink of death (and sometimes beyond) but still let them manage to survive. Grand times were had by all.

There's only one thing in the guide that I see as wrong. Reach Spell increases the SL by 2, not one. At least by Complete Divine standards.

Noa that we are using DragonLance stuff, I recommend that you include the feat 'Dynamic Priest' from Legends of the Twins. You have to take it at level one, and it rewires your bonus spells and your maximum spell level to run off Cha rather than Wis, effeciently making you a SAD caster with abilities that synergizes Well with your primary casting stat.

IMO, this feat is to healers what Natural Spell is to druids. It is that good.

Nice guide, but I think you can get much more powerful by using the Book of Erotic Fantasy. Aside from the fact that a female healer needs a high appearance score and rules for...
Anyway: If you allready take the dip for Naberius just go for Metaphysical Spellshaper and rock the hell via Metamagic (Repeated AoE heal is great)

Prestige class suggestion: Seeker of the Misty Isle (CD).

You may have missed this class because it requires the character to be of a suboptimal race (Elf/Half-elf), but as long as you can live with that this class is ideal for the healer. The prereqs are pretty easy for a healer to deal with, and a 7 level dip nets you the Magic and Travel domains, 14 extra skill points, and a few minor bonuses at the expense of a single caster level. i think that this PrC deserves a mention in black.

I think that this PrC deserves a mention in black.

Also, Healer 5/Seeker of the Misty Isle 7/Contemplative 6 should be pretty potent. I'll look into that soon.

PrC suggestion: Sovereign Speaker (Faiths of Eberron, pag 32)
Why being just an healer when you can be a cleric? Combine with Sacred Exorcist (or Prestige Paladin) + Domain Spontaneity for extra cheese.

If my memories aren't lying to me, most spells on the Healer list are Conjuration (Healing), correct?

Than just find a way to get Healing Lorecall on your list, and their Caster Levels become equal to your ranks in Heal, and you gain the ability to remove certain debuffs. From Complete Adventurer.

Another good idea is to go Planar Touchstone->Catalog of Enlightenment, for any Domains you want. Now abuse Imbued Healing.

It's actually quite impressive what you can do with a single casting of Cure Minor Wounds, when you buff it to all get-out... Remove Daze, Dazzled, Fatigued, Exhausted, Nauseated, or Sickened? With a cantrip? Just wait for 7th level, and you can...

On a strange note, would anyone be put out if we had a post about people or events we can spare a thought for, or if its within their creed, a prayer for? Just a random thought, but ... hells I wouldn't have known about either Archangels daughter or Saeomons niece if I didn't happen to be on these threads.
Sounds fine to me.
probably over on "Off-topic".
might want to put a little disclaimer in the first post.

This is the Min/Max board. We should be able to figure out a way to optimize the POWER OF PRAYER(TM) that doesn't involve "Pazuzu, Pazuzu, Pazuzu".
