What's a BSF?  And ok...then roll a save vs. DC 31 for half damage.  Full damage is 13 half is 6. Either way pass or fail it's entangled for 4 rounds and will take 2d6 damage each round (or more if I keep stalking on napalm...)
I'll roll the save tomorrow. A BSF is a Big Stupid Fighter. It's one of the key roles in D&D, the others being: GOD, skill monkey, and waste of space. Take note that in this game the BSF might be quite smart, and will often be able to actually solve encounters quite by himself. (And in case you're wondering: You're not one. You don't have the stupid damage output nor the lack of useful options that make a normal BSF.)

Also, in this game we have the TSF, or the Tiny Stupid Fighter.... AND I stil have to kick everyone's ass with a monk - the monk being the prime example for Waste of Space, on par with the Swashbuckler.

This post being another example of why you shouldn't post AFTER the party...

Unfortunately your flight speed is only 30ft normally, and you can't fire the boosters, or else they will give you a recharge of one round for your breath weapon. (Because they use your Tempest Breath.) I've taken the liberty of moving you 30ft, and your 30ft line will easily hit the Chimera and noone else, because the chimera is in the air.
The MARC's blast of napalm caught the creature in stands of sticky fire. It could not avoid catching all the sticky strands, which coagulated into something firm - and burning, severly hampering its movement, while digging deeper and deeper into the Chimera's incredibly thick hide. The creature howled in pain.

Ha!  Party time!

So...if I am not a BSF, TSF, GOD, or skillmonkey...what am I? Waste of Space?  Wink

And could you do us a favor and post a new link to the map up every time you update it so it's easy to click on for reference?

And what's all this about Raith's character not being viable?  In THIS game???  Confused

As the creature had sensed that Cat had dropped below it, it turned it's White Dragon head, which was already fuming from the nostrils again, downwards, and spat another cone of extremely cold breath towards the floor. Cat lept aside, reflexively, but was frosted, nevertheless.

((Round 3, Isul))

Seeing the others having everything taken care of for now, Isul bides his time, waiting to see if further action from him is necessary, while his fish continue to eat away at the cowering bulette creature.

You do realize that for all the visual effect I give him, one swing of yours does more damage than most of Cat's full attacks... just saying

He does have a few more HP left than you. Also, AFAIK you've posted for round 4 there, right?

'This battle has been decided', Daleric thought to himself as he observed the plight of the remaining chimeras. No need to waste any more of his limited magics on these beasts.

Daelric simply observed while Cat and the others continued their assaults on the helpless beasts.

Mael approaches the vanquished beast and is pleased to see it recoil away from him as far as the bonds will let it.

[Private for BP]
Let's see what we have here Azur says, with a mental chuckle.

Mael feels the comforting presence vanish, as Azur attempts to insinuate himself into the dumb beast.

[OOC]
Free: End possession of Mael
Standard: Possession: Will save DC 26
(-2 to the save from being shaken, -2 if it is Evil)

[Private for Isul - if he makes a Spot check DC 36]
With his True Sight, Isul makes out a small shape that appears next to the chimeric bulette: it's a head, visible just abve the ground. It clearly belongs to an imp, given the small horns on its head and the bat-like wings. Oddly enough it is ethereal (which explains how most of its body can be inside the ground), invisible and disguised as something else... perhaps a coure eladrin, from what little Isul can see.
It vanishes soon afterwards.

okay assuming we are rolling out the damage here, i know you said we cant Coupe them.

His Blade still crackeling with energy Doyle raises it up almost hesitantly at the bound and fearfull creature in front of him. unsure if he is putting it out of its misery or just adding cruelty to its situation he brings his sword down in to quick strikes

to hit -1d20+16=31 -
to hot -1d20+11=31 - confirmed with-1d20+11=16  (assuming not a crit)
2d6+9=15, 2d6+9=14 -weapon damage
5d6=16  - shocking grasp damage

I'm going to take the Cowering description literally - as in, it can't take any actions, so it can't use Full-defense. That also means that if you guys were ever to be caught cowering, neither can you. AFAIK this is reasonably supported as RAW.
Doyle's Blade cut the writhing creature, unloading the charged spell into it. His second swipe also hit.

The creature's eyes, wide with fear, seemed to plead with him...

[PRIVATE for Mael]
Not sure what you want to do from here. I'm also not sure what happens to its conditions when you take over. The fear, at least, will go away with posession. The ability damage and entangling won't, of course. So Azur COULD take full-def actions with it, likely as not protecting it from Doyle for a good while longer, since he can only just hit it, as it is. Azur could also try to break free, or whatever.

So the smaller Chimera will take on the following 4 consecutive rounds it is entangled: 6, 7, 6, 8 respectively.

Next round Marc is going to charge it with his sword and discharge vents.

AC Hit 27 (remember the penalties for being entangled), If it hits 31 Damage +18 from the discharge vents (+6 from the above burning effect regardless). Feel free to write a narrative post, describing whether I hit or miss.

Round 4

Barring Doyle's action...

The MARC crashed his sword into the hovering, blinded, and burning Chimera, injuring it severely as more fire gushed deep into the wound the sword had struck.
The creature was undecided... should it try to flee, with this burning goo still sticking to it? Should it fight? And who should it attack? Logic dictated that one foe be dispatched, first, but in its weakened state the provocation from the MARC was simply too great. Smouldering dragon heads turned towards the MARC, judging his position by ear, and both breathed death and destruction at him, catching Daelric in the blast of Cold.
Cone of Cold 20 damage on MARC and Daelric, ref DC 23 half. Line of Cold 12 damage, Ref half.

With the creature still above him, Cat wanted to leap up again to attack it, but leaping up vertically was impossible for him. He bounded past the dwarf [to I42], but from there could not charge right away. But then something strange happened. The dwarf took a few steps towards him and did something, and he felt an immediate surge of activity, allowing him to move with blinding speed. He bounded back towards the hovering Chimera and leapt into the air again, digging in with claws and teeth. In the creatures entangled state it could no longer wriggle away from Cat's claws, also, the attack came unexpectedly, and both Cat's movement and his strange positioning deepened the gashes his claws tore.
This proved too much even for this powerful creature. Even as Cat tried to hold on its wings failed and it crashed to the ground. Cat could just about scamper out of the way, but a heavy limb still struck him. He squealed with pain, for once forgetting his usual reservations about making normal cat sounds.

Ok, this was not supposed to happen, but Cat for once managed to do ALL his potential damage! Skirmish AND H&R fighter, because the critter is still flat-footed, even when Cat leaves his square, as long as he returns in that turn! So unfortunately the critter died, but it was really Torgthen's merit, because it wouldn't have worked without the WRT.
Sohala I would assume Torghten takes the few steps to use WRT, or else this of course doesn't work. He wouldn't be risking an AoO due to blindness, although of course, he might not know that. Hmm.... If you want to backpedal, someone else gets to kill it.

And damnit, falling damage for stuff falling onto you, is extreme! That's 19D6 that Cat could have taken, it could have killed him! I'm giving him a ref save for half, but that's still very nasty.

Since basically everything is mostly decided now, I won't be updating the map anymore. I've updated it with the moves of this post, under the same link as before.

Now do note that Doyle still has to roll well to kill the final Chimera.

Got in late last night from LA, so catching up now.

Seeing the twisted mockery of nature breath it's last, the Marc veered sharply, carving a path in the air as it barrel-rolled through the turn.  Lining up for another strafing run at the last and largest chimera, a jet of fire seared through the air to coat the hobbled foe in sticky burning strands of fire, not unlike that made by alchemists.

You know the drill, ref save 31 for 1/2 damage. 12 damage for fire, burns for 3 rounds: 9,6, and 10 damage respectively, and Marc will keep laying on fire each round til it escapes or is gone.  Don't forget the further entangled penalties!  Big Grin

ROUND 4//ROUND 5

Everyone not currently beating someone up or doing other destructive things, please make a spot check, DC 45.

This is using my revised spot ranges, which I had put up for discussion, but not yet posted to the official house-rules, basically +1 per 30ft instead of +1 per 10ft.

[If you make the check, and only if you do]
Even as Doyle and the MARC went about finishing off the final chimera, which howled in pain and fear as it was burned and cut repeatedly, something peeked over a dune about a hundred yards away... something dark, lean, and many-headed.

Physically impossible to hit that DC, especially when I roll an 8 on the die. Spot 22.

Seeing the battle well in hand, Isul steps into the hut to see what was preventing Devanar from joining the fray.
