I've read that shadowcaster's have a pretty good counterspell in Warp spell, but they take a -4 penalty for counterspelling non-shadow magic, and it's for some reason an opposed check instead of a flat check against CL +11.

How can you make a Shadowcaster have a better chance of succeeding on the check?

Honestly, aside from dipping cleric for the inquisition domain, the only thing that comes to mind is luck re-rolls.

Help?

Not sure on how to increase the check, but if you're looking and Shadowcaster and Warp Spell take a look at Noctumancer's Innate Counterspell ability. Shadowcaster 3/ Wizard 3/ Noctumancer 10/ Mystic Theurge 4 or Wizard 1 with Precocious Apprentice/ Shadowcaster 3/ Noctumancer 10/ Mystic Theurge 6 would actually be decent counterspelling builds with the right feats.
