Q193 Is there anyway to apply Widen Spell more than once on a single spell? Or increase a spell's area a lot? The AoE in question is an emanation...

If you have access to third party cheese, there's the Expand Spell MM feat which increases the area of effect to one mile, and it only uses a spell slot four levels higher. Warning: asking a DM if it's ok to take this feat usually ends up with a book to the head and dice being thrown .

Source please? I don't know the original book it came from, but it's in the AEG Feats book.

Source please? I don't know the original book it came from, but it's in the AEG Feats book. Ultimate Feats Page 149 An Expanded spell has its area of effect increased by +5 ft to all dimensions. This feat does not affect spells without an area of effect stated in spatial terms. Areas of effect of 'personal' or 'touch' or no area listed are not affected. If the spell specifies numbers of targets, that number is not affected (see Empower Spell). An Expanded spell takes up a spell slot two levels higher than the spell's actual level. For example: burning hands affects anyone in a semicircle burst of flames 10 ft long, starting at the caster. Expanded burning hands (3rd level) affects anyone in a semicircle burst of flames 15 feet long, starting at the caster.

Ultimate Feats Page 149
Ultimate Feats is a Mongoose book. Feats is an AEG book. Same name, different feat.

I am still waiting for ToB errata myself... um, there's one here -- it's been out for over a year. (granted, it's pretty basic, but it is an errata, nonetheless). it came out the same time as the ones for Complete Champion and Complete Scoundrel. Yeah, that's the one that has three maneuvers and then suddenly becomes CM errata in mid-sentence.

Read the errata, the first top half of the left hand column is ToB, then it shifts mid-update to Complete Mage errata. It's a faulty file, and doesn't correct anything. Edit: Wow, that was a fail of a ninja on me right there. That'll teach me to leave a window open for more than three minutes before replying.

A gygaxian dungeon is like the world's most messed up game show.
Behind door number one: INSTANT DEATH! Behind door number 2: A magic crown! Behind door number 3: 4d6 giant bees, and THREE HUNDRED POUNDS OF HONEY! They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.
Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.
Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...
Best metaphor I have seen in a long time. I give you much fu. Three Errata for the Mage-kings under the sky, Seven for the Barbarian-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Monks doomed to die, One for the Wizard on his dark throne In the Land of Charop where the Shadows lie.

ah, okay. I never really use ToB, so I never really noticed (it is our groups opinion that ToB should be used by itself, in a ToB-only game -- which actually sounds like fun).

If you stop ignoring 289 pages telling what the intent is to stretch "more power" in your own god complexion of your interpretation trumps all to cover ability adjustments from aging then I will ignore a quarter page of rules that exist within a sidebar.
I think in this case the grammar is less important than whether the Str and Dex bonus provided to your created undead scales.

It actually is quite fun. Ran a ToB and ToM only game. Had a blast with it.

This may seem like an overly-simplistic no-brainer, but ... Q194 could "practiced spellcaster" (or similar feat) be used to qualify for "obtain familiar"? for example, if I took "practiced spellcaster" as a 1st level bard, and my next 2 levels were non-bard, could I then take "obtain familiar" as my 3rd level feat?
keep in mind that my DM is quite cautious/conservative in his interpretations/adjudications.

You would have an arcane caster level of 3 at that point, so yes.

Yes, but three levels of bard and practiced spellcaster would not qualify you for "planar familiar", because that feat requires "spellcaster level" and not "caster level".

The Obtain Familiar feat only requires arcane caster level, though.

A 194.2I'm pretty sure no. Obtain Familiar is a feat, not a class feature.

Q 195 I saw an item last night in one of the books that gave you true strike once per day, as well as another ability, but I can't remember what book it was in. It's probably in a Forgotten Realms or Eberron book since that's what I was mostly going through at the time. Anyone know what it is?

A 195 Randomly found it in Ghostwalk, not a Forgotten Realms or Eberron, but 3.0's Ghostwalk. It's the Glove of Master Strategist. The other ability is acting like a glove of storing.
