A94: Strictly speaking no; having the cold subtype would simply make you immune. This occurs as a result of something in Piercing Cold; Searing Spell simply deals half damage (of nothing) to those who are immune to fire. Yeah, Searing Spell and Piercing Cold together are...rather wonky. Better to just leave it at Searing Spell, considering that it always will deal damage. (Piercing Cold, as above, may not.)
Seems then that the two feats from Book of Vile Darkness are a better investment, since nothing is immune to Vilefire (yay, new burnination word ). That would also allow me to keep the Snowcasting CL/Damage abuse going, since it won't matter if they're cold subtype or immune. Q45 Is there any permenant way of getting the vermin type?

Verminlord maybe? I haven't looked at it in ages, but that would be a logical educated guess

A95: Vermin Lord won't do that. But Fang of Lolth will. It's a prestige class back in Song and Silence - good luck finding THAT book in a legal manner.

Q 91b
Is there a Cleric or Paladin spell that makes one or more undead immune to turning/rebuking or increases their turn resistance?
Shroud of undeath makes you immune to a single turning/rebuking attempt.

A quick, dumb question- Q96: Is there any way to stack CL from two different casting classes other than abusing the Master Spellthief feat (such as in this thread)? It's tempting to use for a UM I'm playing in an ongoing game, but I don't feel like making the sacrifice by taking a level in spellthief just so I can take the feat. The boost might be worth it, but it would be an otherwise useless level.

I've been thinking about making a Handbook for this, but before I start I'd really like to know if one already exists. So, same question

Uses Sublime Chord and Ultimate Magus to achieve a CL of like 40. Q97 Does anyone have a list of all the magic locations and what feats you can get from them?
There used to be a list on 339, but my link to it is broken. It was also an archive post, so someone who knows how to poach google cache will have to snag it I've been thinking about making a Handbook for this, but before I start I'd really like to know if one already exists. So, same question See above, and I'd be keen on working on it with you, or at least kabitzing on the most useful ones (like...Dragonblood Pool).

If it is any consolation, the fang of lolth prc is available as a free excerpt on the wotc website. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20011207

Eh, was thinking more random chatter in my usual disoriented posting style, but I guess if it's pretty self explanitory in the description of the location, any advice would by default be most likely unwanted EDIT : Q97 : How would Great Flyby Attack affect a Hood? I would imagine so long as it's not magical flight, they could make one giant divebomb against everything in their path and swoop away.

Can't a Warlock do that at level 1 with Dark Speech?
EDIT :
Q98 : What's the lowest level spell that deals elemental damage in at least a 20' radius with d6/CL or higher damage? Does this default to Fireball, or can I get better than that (since I can spellwarp that, and really the damage is the only important thing since I can sculpt and/or spellwarp any of them)?

A level 1 warlock can build a hive at level one using dark speech, unfortunately he only has some control of it, giving it one command as per suggestion. a vermin lord on the other hand has a lot more control over the hive he or she creates. edit Q99 are there any intelligent vermin that are good to polymorph into? xamas

Q97 Does anyone have a list of all the magic locations and what feats you can get from them? A97:I don't have a list of the actual locations, but DMG2, Complete Psionic, Complete Mage, Complete Scoundrel, Complete Champion, and Drow of the Underdark all have them. So far as I can recall, Complete Scoundrel is the only one to have nonmagical "magic locations", and also the only one to grant feats. Q100: Along those lines, which books have rules for organizations with specific benefits besides PHB2, Dragon Magic, and Complete Champion (if any)?

A100 : I believe the Planar Handbook has a few, and of course the DMG II, where Affiliations first began. Complete Scoundrel most likely has 'em too, or at least it should, as that fits perfectly.

You have a few interesting options from the Wu Jen spell list. Otherwise, there are a few 1st level spells that have a 1d6/CL damage (Max. 5d6), 30' line or similar. Fireburst, Furnace Within and similar are your 2nd level answers.

None that I am aware of. Fireburst caps at 5d8, and the other 2nd lv spells (scorch/snowball swarm/frostbreath) scale every other lv. Frostbreath isn't too shabby though since as written, it dazes without a save if converted into a ray.

Frostbreath is a possiblility, definitely then. Cantrip, which Wu-Jen spell(s) was/were you refering to? I didn't see any level 1's that were damage/level. The ideal one would be 1d6/level and a level 1, which so far is Shocking Grasp, though if I could get 1d8/level, all the better. Arcane Thesis+Sculpting=profit, especially since if I so desire I can also spellwarp it for free. 1d6 damage later and it's firing off at my CL (which is anywhere from 40 to 110 depending on the build). So with that updated info, anything comparable to Shocking Grasp?
