We have taken a long time off but there are some good reasons for this (mostly technical, but some personal) We have four episodes recorded and are waiting for the equipment to arrive so that we can complete the process of putting them out. Also with the arrival of new equipment, will come recording of new episodes. We are very thankful to all of the people on these boards for helping to keep our brand visible while we go through this difficult time. We appreciate all of the support and patience that we have been shown.

Like the phoenix we will rise from the... you get the idea.

Our tech issues continue and are frankly a giant pain in the ass.  For example, I can't change the news item at the top of the page here on the boards, otherwise, I'd link to this thread.

Just one of the many many small things that are holding us back.

We do have plans though- grand plans.  We have a huge outline of upcoming shows and we're going to come back with a full apology/ explaination/ etc. that I'm thinking will be a live episode.

The big thing we're waiting on right now is that we don't have a computer to record to.  Sort of important.  My desktop was mostly dead in the summer and now it's all the way dead.  My laptop is in dire need of a complete reboot (and has no memory) and Josh's laptop just died.  When that is settled, we can at least put out a couple of shows while we continue to work on the rest of the problems.

In just about 5 weeks my life changes drastically, so I'm not really planning past that.

I just had a record cold snap and record earliest snow fall ... fun, but no internets.

This is my avatar singing, I'm just the bodyguard.

Love, exciting and new
Come aboard, we're expecting you
Love, life's sweetest reward
Let it flow, it floats back to you

The "Carlie" soon will be making another run
The "Carlie" promises something for everyone
Set a course for adventure
Your mind on a new romance

And love won't hurt anymore with an epidural ...  Wink
It's an open smile on a friendly shore
It's love
Welcome aboard
It's love!

**

Have you been thinking of other baby/avatar/internet-persona names ?

Let's assume there was a listener who had given up on the podcast and stopped listening, oh, say, eight months and eight days ago, give or take due to the international date line.

Anything in the past eight you'd recommend as must-listens-to? Any major change in direction? Any best-of-material that'd still be funny a month after whatever it's referenced has left the public eye?

There are there general types of podcast listener.

1) Goes to the back catalog and listens to every episode, in order.
2) Listens to podcasts that are fresh and has no interest in older podcasts.
3) Only listens to podcasts that are on topics they are interested in.

If you are a 1, listen to all of them.  If you are a 2, don't listen to any.  If you are a 3, look at the blog posts.

My answer is more specific.

Our Season 3 Teaser I think has some of the funniest stuff we've ever done.  100% fluff though.

I really like our Kicking People Out series:

It probably has something to do with your being Austrailian.

Or Josh. One or the other.

Guess I'll come back and see what you guys have up when you've got something recent and non-fluff to see. Good luck and all that.

The episodes on communication aren't fluff at all.  They are highly strategic.

Yes, but I'm not sure that, based on past experience, I trust (the collective you)'re advice on communication and conveying a point.
