Richard goes to the ammunition box and opens it up.  No use in letting good supplies go to waste just because everyone is dead.

You know you don't get a say because you have no tongue, ha ha Bones, your a funny man thought Pingo as he sniffed a bit at the joke but smiled on the inside, it was an old favorite of Bones. Pingo squinted his eyes at his old friend as if he was criticizing him in his mind and turned about face heading towards "the old coot". Pingo walked with his spear on one shoulder and his machete hanging loosely from the other hand as he usually did in most situations.
Pingo walks toward "shack four" hoping the fellow that normally inhabits it will recognize him on sight, Pingo knew the man to have a habit of sitting with his shot gun across his lap.

watching the others nervously from the deck Russo fiddled with his shirt buttons, keeping an eye out for the others ready to shout a warning

"Jees you half italian bastard couldn't get more yellow if you tried could ya?" he muttered to himself cursing his own cowardice. He sighed spread the tarp out on the front deck and pulled Anna from her cradle setting her down carefully on the tarpaulin that done he moved below deck to get his cleaning kit.

Pingo
Bones starts shouting in your direction, When you turn your head, you see that he's pointing at the small steam boat that is tied up on the opposite side of the dock from The Halcon.

"What the hell are you doing? I said go look in his BOAT to see if he's there, not go help Richard in the cabin..." Bones smiles.

Richard

The ammo box opens. Inside are personal items. An old worn bible, some loose photographs, a couple of envelope containing letters, and an empty cigarette package.

Loder returns to the deck carrying Max's gear.  He begins to slowly unload it onto the dock with help from Esteban who has been uncharacteristically silent since the encounter with the cannibals.

"Hey doc, lemme ask you-- can't I just stay on the boat? You guys will have to leave it at some point since the river won't lead you straight to the heart of the lost city anyway... I won't get in the way, and I may be able to look after the... (he obviously gets dizzy midsentence) shit, I need to lay down."

Max, slumps to the deck.

Richard nods to himself, suspicions confirmed.  It's always nice to know that he is right, though he still wishes there had actually been bullets in the box, he isn't comfortable with his supply the way things are going.

To whomever is listening he says, "These people didn't leave, at least not of their own free will." He then moves on to investigate the church.

Eisen
The building (#5 I can only assume) is constructed from river stone and mortar with a thatched roof. A makeshift porch wraps around two sides. Inside there are a few tables and benches, as well a a bar made out of some old crates and large planks of wood.

Eisen finds curtained off "rooms" towards the back. Some alcoves have hammocks while others cots.

There are overturned bottles of alcohol. But not a single full one in the place. Crates holding "empties" are behind the bar.

You notice a tuft of red feathers sticking to a wall...

Richard
The abandoned church's roof has fallen in over the years, although the stubby bell tower still stands. It's bell heavy coated in a layer of rust. Weeds grow high alongside the church. The front doors are missing, and only a few broken chairs and a number of old moldering bibles and hymnals can be seen strewn across the floor.

The wind changes, and you catch a whiff of something rotten from around the other side of the building

Yes, once again they'd be dealing with odd amounts of contained violence. The nazis certainly had their signature. But something seemed weird... a lot of consumed alcohol... there was no way they'd let the men drink THIS heavily, especially after a slaughter. Shit, even Nazi soldiers had morale, and slaughters of villages took their toll, it was shown to be so in France. So much about these villages made no sense. Eisen goes to investigate the feathers lump, keeping the feathers in the same line of sight as the curtained off rooms. Eventually gaining the courage, and after checking what the hell the feathers were, Eisen slowly makes his way towards the first curtain, moving it aside with the tip of his rifle quickly...

Checks out the feathers
If nothing interesting is on feathers, moves on to throw aside a curtain, rifle-first.
Spot: 11
Move Silently: 20
Listen: 26

Search (the room? If you need it for examinations): Taking 20 = 22

If nothing hostile is in room, will still not enter it. How many "curtained rooms" are there?

Richard
Behind the dilapidated church building you find the overgrown remains of former garden, choked with weeds. Of to the side of the garden is a garbage heap. It is piled high with carcasses of jungle animals in addition to other refuse; empty and broken tequila bottles, an old broken radio set. The entire pile reeks of decay and disease; it crawls with mosquitoes, dung beetles, and worms.

Eisen
You find that the feathers are connected to a dart. It's is tipped with some sticky black residue and it has bright red parrots feathers as a tail.

There are 4 "rooms", taking the time to draw back the curtain and to do so quietly takes a little time, but you clear the room to your satisfaction. No one is here, and as a bar it fails because you didn't find a drop of alcohol either.

Eisen comes walking out of the building; spotting Richard, he starts to walk over, then notes that there is one more building left unchecked. He could bring the Doctor the dart he found later. Taking his rifle to his shoulder one more time, Eisen makes hand motions to Richard to converge on the building, so that they two should form a pincer on the location. Eisen opts to enter immediately, rifle in front of him, starting to wonder just what to do about a totally abandoned village; one without a single drop of alcohol for some reason... did they leave and siphon out all of it, or for some reason did the Nazi's take it? There is an almost careless urgency in Eisen's movements, watching more than paying any other attention. In either case, onward...

Heads towards building 8; time to wrap up this search.

Eisen & Richard
The last building is a dilapidated old school. One of the walls was knocked out in the class room, and it was clear that the area had until recently used as a stable. piles of shit lay about. There was a wooden trough with water. It was placed to catch the rain near the corner where the roof had completely fallen in.

No animals. No people.

Eisen lowers his rifle; yes, as he thought, totally abandoned. "Richard, I don't know about you, but I'm confused and unnerved by this. I suppose we should go and tell the group everything. Also, I found a dart I'd like to go and collect on the way, if you'll follow me..." Eisen moves back to building 5, the bar, and removes the dart from the wall carefully; the last thing he needs is to cut himself with it. Using his knife to chip it out of the wall by using the point as a sort of chisel, he slowly loosens it until the thing can be removed by the feathers, keeping the point down to prevent anything from running down the dart to his hand. He keeps this hand nearly at arms length to prevent himself from getting any of the black residue on him; he assumes it to be poison. "Richard, check those rooms. Nothing in them, all empty."

Richard nods and follows Eisen.  The German is competent, and that makes Richard happy.  "It doesn't look like the last village, that is certain."  He then takes a look at the rooms that Eisen pointed out to him, wondering just what happened here.

Sgt. John Kestrel
You arrive at a trail that winds deeper into the jungle, heading away from the river, and up foliage choked hills. The path is mud, due to the rain. There are no footprints left to find.

Richard
Sweeping across the rooms with your expertly honed gaze, you find nothing of note but empty hammocks or cots. The bar had no alcohol, nor did it contain anything else really. No supplies of any kind. Unless you count empty bottles as your stock & trade.

Midway through unloading Max's gear, Loder stops and looks towards the village, wondering why there are no noises except for his companions.  "Hey, what's going on over there?"
