Since there's currently a lull in the action and I'm going on vacation this weekend until next Thursday, I figure this would be a good time to take a break for a week.

Once I come back from vacation we'll continue.

I'm back, and I have the suntan to prove it!
3 days in Bali was...  Interesting to say the least.  If you stick to the beach and only go places via taxi, you'll probably enjoy it a whole bunch.  There seems to be no average level of quality for anything anywhere.  Everything is either great, or it's shit.  This includes restaurants, toilets, roads, everything!

The Good: I think the beach in Kuta was nicer than Waikiki.  Great sand, not so overcrowded, plenty of surfboards for rent, vendors hawking everything imaginable, and waves that average on about 2 meters.  Ancient stonework and statues fucking EVERYWHERE!  If you manage to find one of the better Indonesian restaurants, you'll swear you've died and gone to heaven.  I could totally eat satay beef with peanut sauce all day.  Nobody really seems dangerous.

The Bad: So-called toilets.  If you're lucky, there's toilet paper.  If you're unlucky, there's no seat, paper, or running water.  And you often have to pay to use those ones!

The Ugly: The entire local economy seems to be based around harassing the shit out of tourists.  While I never felt threatened by anyone there, it was quite annoying for EVERY SINGLE TAXI to slow down and honk as they drove by.  Every other person on the sidewalk will either desperately try to get you to go into their shop to buy something, or try to offer "transport".  I had one guy nearly grab my arm to get me to go into his shop.

Sounds like an interesting combination of fun and annoyance. I'm hoping the former outweighed the latter.

Oh, I forgot to mention that we also went to the waterslide park.  Tongue
It was way too much fun!

Saw a news article today that there were two hotels bombed in Jakarta on the same day that we left Bali.

So sorry for not posting. >_> So much going on I almost forgot to check back today.

I shouldn't have any real absences until the weekend of August 1st. I'll be hauling my stuff (what little there is of it) ~160 miles to my grandpa's house. Hooray for college!

As a preacher, I knew that my PC would NOT be a leader nor a gun. With this being said, why the hell are the rest of you guys fiddling around with your thumbs up your asses?

Don't take offense, because I don't mean for my words to be insulting... but MY PC cannot lead a force of armed men ANYWHERE. And so, if YOU guys do not start to take initiative in these sort of things-- this game is going to end up dying.

The rest of you have had at least one encounter with Shadow in the past whereas I have zero. You guys SHOULD be the ones to jump into the action before me. At least Bones has an excuse...

He's a Doctor not a damn... uh... well... he's a doctor.

My guy's also kinda new to this, since he's only encountered one shadow ever - and only just learned what it was. Hell, he didn't even kill the thing. Really, the only two fit to lead the party right now are Frank and Jackson...

Quick note here, but I'm going to be absent for a week or so. Feel free to take over for me if it's necessary.

Just to clarify, I was looking for a ladder with that spot check. Ah well...

No ladders in sight.  From what little you can see, this is most likely a ghost town, abandoned after the mines stopped producing.

Alrighty. Damn.

Is the floor on fire, too? It kinda makes a difference.

Not entirely.  There are places where you can stand and not be on fire.  Smirk
