Sounds like a cop-out to me...
I'd prefer you took a class that provided those skills.

Okay, couldn't hurt to ask Smile

It was mostly to not have to deal with CC-skills from multiclassing, I still need at least 1 level in a class that grants a skill to benefit from the feat for max ranks, and there's no use in only taking it to get a skill up to half max. ranks Smile

As much as I want to make this feel as close to Supernatural as I can, even more important is that you guys enjoy the characters you are playing.

Take your time, make sure you like what you can do with your character, then submit the statblock/online sheet when you're ready.  I won't be rushing so nobody has to worry.

Found this in the MSRD:

Arcane Skills
You have access to arcane skills.

Benefit: The character gains the following class skills, as described under the Mage advanced class: Concentration, Craft (chemical), and Spellcraft. Further, the character gains Use Magic Device as a class skill, as described under the Occultist advanced class.

This feat does not in and of itself grant spellcasting ability.

Normal: Arcane skills are special class skills available to the Acolyte, Occultist, Mage, Mystic, and Techno Mage advanced classes. Other classes may not buy ranks in these skills without this feat.

Now, I was wondering if you'd be okay with adapting the skills granted to a different 'niche', such as 'crafter', 'tracker' or 'occult hunter'?

If not I might just take it in its unaltered form if the feat is okay with you, but I figured I'd ask Smile

Skill groups I was thinking about:
1) 'Stalker': Investigate, Sense Motive, Survival +1 other
2) 'Occult Hunter': Knowledge (Arcane Lore), Investigate +2 others
3) 'Crafter': Craft (Chemical, Mechanical and Structural), Repair

Will fill in the gaps later, open to suggestions Smile

Also, a quick question about the Tracer Adv. Class. For its first level ability, can I choose 'Shadow' as a creature type, or is that to broad of a category?

It's kinda broad, but 'undead' would be pretty similar...

So Shadow is a go? Or Undead?

Lemme know about the feat thing. Once I've got a GM-call on those 2 I should have a final build up pretty fast.

Going with somewhat of an Occult Hunter (at least in flavor, not sure about the actual Adv. Class yet) who knows how to create the tools that are necessary to fight the evil of Shadow creatures for my basic concept.

Probably gonna have a Winchester (gee, I wonder why Wink) as a primary firearm.

Undead would be more acceptable (don't worry, it'll be common enough that you won't feel ripped off even when the menace isn't undead)

Spending a feat on those skill group things sounds reasonable to me, lemme know which you pick.

You sure the Smart Hero wouldn't work?  If you want, I could help you put together a custom Advanced Class based on the Techie AdC focusing on stuff to fight Shadow Creatures.

You'll likely use Investigate a lot more than you would Profession, and since Bowen's character is only using it for prerequisites, I'd say it's a good idea.

Those skills in the first list will see very regular use, and the second group will be regular enough.  Other skills will be useful, but not quite so often.

Duly noted and swapped back. I guess I'm going back to my original concept after all.

Also, a quick question about the Tracer Adv. Class.

Just realized what you were asking.  The Tracer AdC isn't on the list of approved classes.  The list can be found in the original post of this thread, but I'll repost it here for your convenience:

Bounty Hunter, Brave, Grifter, Gunslinger, Maverick, Preacher, Rifleman, Sawbones, Scout, Soldier, Tin Star and Wrangler from Sidewinder: Recoiled

Shadow Hunter from Urban Arcana

possibly Shadow Slayer and Occultist from d20 Modern

possibly Explorer and Spiritualist from d20 Past if you have a really good reason/character concept for why you want to play such a character.

Ah crap, forgot about that.

Any chance of you allowing it? It seems to fit flavorwise, works perfectly for my concept, a 'tracker' or 'stalker' of sorts specialized in hunting down a certain menace...

I'm already pretty limited in my AdC choices, seeing as I don't have Sidewinder  Big Eyes

Yeah, I'll allow it, though the skills need a bit of changing...

Remove: Computer Use, Drive, Pilot
Add: Handle Animal, Knowledge (arcane lore)

Thanks Smile

I wasn't planning on putting any ranks in Computer Use, Drive or Pilot anyway, but the Knowledge (Arcane Lore) as a class skill is very nice Big Grin

It is 32, isn't it?

Str 10 -> 2
Dex 18 -> 16
Con 14 -> 6
Int 14 -> 6
Wis 10 -> 2
Cha 8 -> 0

2+16+6+6+2+0=32

I'm not crazy, am I?

Suddenly Jace leaps out from behind Bowen and stabs J0lt in the face.

"That's what you get for fucking up!!!" Jace explained.
