Ah, so they're actually going to follow the manga. That seems promising. Much more so than the thought of a sequel to the anime... *shudder*

But are they following since the beginning or some point during the plot? Not that I mind watching it all over, if it's gonna follow the manga...

The producers were aware of "I don't want to watch it over" syndrome, and they've tried to put different twists on things than the first anime while still being faithful to the manga. The first episode has a foreshadow-riffic plot involving the "Ice Alchemist" which takes place immediately before the Elric brothers' trip to Leor/Riole (Al: "But we had our tickets bought and everything!") Here's the opening in high-definition, appropriately titled "Again".

This is going to be freaking awesome. The manga beats the pants off the anime, in spite of the anime being awesome too...

For those who are unaware of the differences between the manga and anime... Dante did not exist in the manga.

For those who are unaware of the differences between the manga and anime... Dante did not exist in the manga. Heck, for that matter, two of the homunculi are completely different, two are switched around, the Armstrong family plays a bigger role in it, and the rest of the UNIVERSE in FMA makes an appearance (the plot isn't based exclusively around Amestris). Hohenheim gets a better role in it too, as does Kimbly.

The few scenes where Kimbley appeared in the manga, he was awesome.... even though he was also an ass... but what can I say? Gotta love maniacal bombers...

Consider the prices on some of Conrad's publications, or Panini's...

I just remembered Alphonse rocks more than Edward...

While watching the first episode, I saw something: it seems like Edward is smaller than before.... did anyone noticed it? Or I need a new pair of eyes?

No, Edward looks even shorter on the manga.

"Just what do you think the moon up in the sky is? Everyone sees that big, round shiny thing and thinks there must be something round up there, right? That's just silly. The truth is much more awesome than that. You can almost never see the real Moon, and its appearance is death to humans. You can only see the Moon when it's reflected in things. And the things it reflects in, like water or glass, can all be broken, right? Since the moon you see in the sky is just being reflected in the heavens, if you tear open the heavens it's easy to break it~" -Ibuki Suika, on overkill

Theres a reason for why hes so sensitive about it. The manga makes it worse though. Apparently there was a need to make Edward at least look taller in the TV series, since short characters can be much more difficult to identify as heroes. Negi is an exception, though since the character is 10 and the story spans a few years anyway, he eventually starts looking taller than a keychain too. Which gives me an idea for Akamatsu's prequel on Negima. "Negi: bonsai woodcutter"
