Such an audacious approach seems to take the dwarf aback. "Wha--what are you talking about? You're the ones what killed him!"

And I wouldn't have had to if the watch were doing their job. Oh, and go out and buy yourself some nicer looking mail, I could have sworn you were brigands and not something more palatial. Christian tosses a coinpurse towards the watch. Try not to spend it at the tavern, and get this mess... cleaned. Christian fiddles with his signet ring, Oh and where is... where are the Contractors? Me and my retinue were supposed to meet them here, then this foul demon fuddled the rendezvous.

Sack of 56gp worth of coin.

The nonplussed dwarf catches the purse reflexively. After a few seconds, he seems to have arrived at a conclusion. "Are you trying to bribe me? I assure you, this won't work."

One of the human watchmen in the back mutters, "Yeah, you'd need more money for that." The man standing next to him sniggers before the dwarf casts them a baleful look.

"Now look here. Do you even plan to let us explain ourselves, or are you just going to stand accusing us of crimes you didn't see us commit?"

Crimes that you let be committed.  Who is your superior? If you delay us any further, I mind as well take the time to file an official report.

Neither of these arguments seem to be impressing the dwarf, even with the bag of gold sitting comfortably in one hand. He gestures to the watchmen standing behind him. "We're taking you lot in for questioning." As his companions start forward, seemingly intent on taking everyone into custody, the dwarf realized he's still holding the coinpurse. With a grunt of "Evidence," he pockets it and then moves forwards to assist.

"Yes, very well - though I won't be needing those handcuffs, thank you very much."

The officer snorts as he takes Lucilius' sword. Around him, all the other watchmen are confiscating anything that looks like a weapon from the rest of the group. "You're not getting handcuffs. You give us any trouble, and I will shoot you in the head." He produces a large, unfriendly-looking crossbow to replace the axe, then indicates that the group should follow one of the watchmen.

Unless you can somehow avoid this:
Krim, they confiscate your quarterstaff, crossbow, and wands, unless you can convince them that the latter aren't dangerous.
Jose, your sword. Also, your sheet is currently private.
Requia, dagger and hand crossbow.
Shamed, your sheet is also private, but if you have weapons, they're gone.
Ari, there's really nothing for them to take from you.
Anderan, greatsword and net.

"First you insult my heritage, then you try to take my personal effects? I think not. I will gladly come with you for questioning, but I will keep my items, thank you kindly."

The dwarf stares back at Lucilius, somehow managing to look menacing even from several feet lower. The other watchmen stop in order to watch. "Boy, you are asking for trouble, and surely you remember how I deal with trouble. Put the sword down, and you might even get it back--assuming you're as innocent as you say."

Looks like that envoy isn't showing up. Next best place would be Morgrave..... that's in upper Menthis. Christian starts walking to Morgrave university.

The watchman who was searching Christian taps him on the shoulder. "You're not going anywhere except to the watch house. Unless they've moved that to Morgrave, you're out of luck."

"You want this sword, you'll have to pry it from my cold, dead body. Of course, not like it appears you're exactly apt to be able to kill me."

The guard's eyes narrow. "That can be arranged. Take his sword, and don't be gentle about it." One of the nearby watchmen makes a grab for the blade.

We'll call it an unarmed disarm attempt, which gives you an attack of opportunity if you feel so inclined.

I had it sheathed. Also, can I sidestep?
