Pulp is a great catch all for some really "out there" ideas. The writers of those times were some very imaginative people, even if they weren't necessarily some of the best writers.

This game (prologue through main plot) has pretty much EVERYTHING in it. Keep watching the bibliography section and take note of new books that I add. I am a prime example of a gamer who "plays with everything"-- I pull stuff out from all different sources in order to accomplish my world-building goal. I asked earlier in a poll about the genre you guys (and gal) read the MOST, and it was overwhelmingly fantasy... So, what other genres do you guys (and gal ) like to read? I started out as an avid Sci-Fi reader ( Orson Scott Card's Ender's series, and whomever else i randomly read), I branched out into Dean Koontz with the reading of Watchers. I got into Espionage thrillers, then Stephen King with The Stand. The only Fantasy I ever really read was David Eddings' Sparhawk books, and Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Other notable others I like are Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child's books, and I liked Angels & Demons as well as The DaVinci Code (the movie I did not like).

What really got me into reading was the Shannara series by Terry Brooks when I was like 10 or 11. I had always been interested in the middle ages, so naturally I turned to fantasy. I was also really into cyberpunk sci-fi, thanks to William Gibson's Neuromancer. Lately I've turned to 19th century stuff like Edgar Allan Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Gibson's stuff remains amazing. I loved Neuromancer! I'm also a growing fan of Mr. Lovecraft as well!

While I don't really read that much, as far as genres in media in general go I like fantasy, sci-fi, pulp, and more. Inserting some wonky and weird stuff in an otherwise 'normal' setting or stuff like alternate history or 'stupid jetpack hitler' (check TVtropes for that ) are also pretty awesome

I read everything. Horror (Stephen Kind and Clive Barker), Fantasy (David and Leigh Eddings, a bunch of other guys) Sci-Fi/Cyberpunk (Gibson, Neal Stephenson), Historical Fiction (Neal Stephenson). I think it's a real demon, and I'm going to go hunting for it.

Pfft, I'm not going to convince anybody. I am going to buy bear traps though. And put sugar in them. And have you think I'm crazy.

Dark Tower was seriously weird, but IMHO... brilliant. I really loved that series. From a Buick 8 is worth checking out.

Real Tarot here will you be needing the 'book of erotic fantasy" jace? lol-- I HAVE looked into those sorts of books, "free" pdf file versions. The basic mechanic is fine, but all that extra shit they include... is just kinda creepy! (IMHO) Sex happens often enough in games that I play in or GM. It's just a part of life. We (my home groups) enjoy sex-scenes because of their inherent "uncomfortable" nature. We pretty much leave the details at the door, and focus on amusing noises the other PC's in proximity may hear, and duration. IN another version of the Artifact, a good deal deeper into the story, one of the PC's started to hook up with this girl they rescued. They were all hiding out in a cave somewhere, and that night the only thing separating the "lovers" from the rest of the party was 15' and a curtain. Each time the two started up again, the other PCs would try to focus on their poker game, one of them used his knife to scratch tally marks in the table they played at, to keep track of the couples, uh, intimate times! They still talk about that, three years later and laugh!
