"Looks like the brothers aren't here yet." John says. He then notices the brunette on the stairs and says "If you'll excuse me doc, I think I may have found a way to spend this unexpected free time." before casually strolling into the building and up the stairs to where the brunette is, striking up a conversation. "Ola senorita. Tell me, are all the girls here as beautiful as you?"Sense Motive to see if she has any ulterior motives: 16Not horrible I suppose. Bluff or Diplomacy if necessary: 15

She giggles in reply. "Of course, but not all the boys who come are as sweet as you!"
She seems to be on the level. A working girl for sure, but what a looker. She had a light tan completion and deep green eyes. She takes you by the arm and give you a bright smile. "My name is Maggie. Would you like to come upstairs and maybe get a massage?"

"The name's John. I could use some R&R to be honest, and the company of a sweet girl is never unwanted." John smiles as he follows Maggie.

"Well then John... follow me." She says in a sultry voice.
You go inside and find yourself in a very sociable lobby. A record player continue to play its song, while couple dance together across the floor. Maggie takes you by the hand and goes up to the front desk. Three women stand there, The older woman gives a smile, while the other two look like they'd rather have you than Maggie.
"Mama Ray, this is John we're going to go upstairs for a bit. He has a sore back that needs to be rubbed." She squeezes John's cheek. "Isn't he adorable?"
"Welcome to Santa Boca's 'Hideaway' son." The older woman says in an American Southern accent. "If you find that you need a room to stay at while you're in town, we still got openings. You're in luck too, on account of those Nazis we've been more accommodating lately to help keep up the town moral and all." She gives a wink and a smirk. "If you ain't here for more than just a quickie, then don't worry about that. I just want you to know we've got options here. We've got a hot bath and shave option as well, Maggie-May here will scrub you clean as a whistle and your chin will be as smooth as a baby's bottom."
Mama Ray tells you how much it will cost. [[ PDC 10 ]]
"You ready there, big guy?" Maggie asks when you've paid.
Dr. Loder stands by himself in front of a brother and a bar waiting for Paco to arrive with their mules, or even better for their gear to arrive. Kestrel left you. He went inside the hotel with one of the girls that came our with the brothel's 'barker'.
Speaking of barks. Loder hears quite a racket from over at dog town on occasion. The sound of snarling, angry dogs, drifts out the front door amidst cheering.

Swapping jokes and some non revealing stories with the soldiers, eventually Eisen makes a move to look at the clock. "Ah, schauen sie zu der zeit! Ich muss zu meinen begleitern gehen und helfen, bereit die jagdausrüstung zu erhalten. Sie war nette unterhaltung mit ihnen aller! Gutes glück im feld!" Shaking each one's hand in turn, and politely turning down a cigarette, Eisen makes a move to leave.

Having no complications, Eisen arrives in front of the inn to meet with the doctor. "WOMEN! WOMEN! WOMEN! WE HAVE A WOMAN FOR EVERYBODY!" a man shouts from the front of the hotel. Beside him are very beautiful ladies who wave at the passing men.

Heavy mechanical coughing and sputtering can be heard, and shortly after the source follows. A beat up jalopy of a 1930's pick-up truck creeps around the bend past a grove of trees, and pulls past Dr. Loder and Herr Eisen where they stand. As it passes the two of you can see that it is loaded down with various crates and canvas bags. This could well be what you were waiting for. The truck continues down to the side of the Caribbean Hideaway, and parks. Two very tan men get out and walk towards the front of the hotel towards the women. One of the guys is checking a clipboard, while the other guys is checking on the ladies who smile flirtatiously with him. Still no sign of the brothers Paco and Esteban though.
Jace, aside from some fun and R&R I was planning for John to use his time with Maggie to get some more information about the town and the Nazis as well. Would that be okay with you? What would you like me to roll, Bluff, Diplomacy, Gather Information? They're untrained but I might as well give it a try James Bond...*ahem*...John Kestrel out. Ow god, roleplaying? Here goes nothing Just gonna do this step by step, waiting for Maggie's reply after each couple of sentences, instead of one mega-monologue post. Assuming that's okay with you ofcourse, Jace "Sure are a lot of Germans around here, arent there?
You'd reckon they could use all the help they can get in Europe. What could possibly be so important to send that many of them, SS included, to a place like this?
Waddayou reckon', luv?" John casually wonders as he lies down, relaxing after a long journey on a boat for so long.
As she works on your back, she makes small talk with you, answering your questions. "Yes. The Germans are all over Santa Boca these days. I'd imagine that something must be pretty important for them to be down here though. I am told that the rest of the Nazis may be leaving town within the next couple of weeks. Maybe that means that they are close to finding what they have come for. Do you think?
"I have spent a little time with the German soldiers. You can tell that they look down on me, but that doesn't seem to stop them from visiting now and again. Sometimes they tell me about how cruel their . You are an American GI, yes? Mama Ray is an American. Maybe I'd like to go see America for myself one of these days. I am told that it is very different there than here..."

After a few more minutes you can see Paco and Esteban leading their horse and half a dozen mules towards you. Esteban is smiling unabashedly. "¡Encontramos mulas baratas!" he shouts.

"Ah, that felt great Maggie." John says as turns around and gets up. "Yeah, I'm an American. I'm on leave at the moment, so I figured I'd travel around a bit, saved up a years worth of pay for this. When I was in Brithish Honduras I met an excentric British fellow who promptly hired me to accompany him on a hunting trip here. You know, protection, an extra set of eyes and someone else who knows how to handle a firearme just in case. I figured why the hell not, I get to see some more of South America and I get paid for it to boot.
But I'm glad the USA isn't at war with them Germans, they don't seem like nice guys. I guess seeing such a bunch of them in a small South-American town just got me curious, but I can't think of anything that would warrant such a large force, and including the SS as well. You or any of the girls wouldn't have happened to overheard anything about it either, would you?""Anyway, it's my turn to give you a massage." he smiles. "Take of your clothes and lie down."

Dr. Loder chuckles to himself and greets the brothers. "Buen trabajo, Esteban."
Looking around for any sign of the others, Loder turns back to Paco and speaks in hushed tones. "Hemos encontrado una guía. Una vez que se carga nuestro equipo, estaremos listos para ir."
"Cuando esto es completo. ¿Usted sin embargo requerirá mi hermano y me? Somos útiles." Esteban says. He nods to Herr Eisen in greeting. His brother comes in close behind him. "¿Es ése el equipo allá?" Paco asks pointing to the old truck that was parked near the brothel/hotel.
The men near the hotel with the clip board are now wandering around looking for anyone who might belong to their delivery, after checking inside and not finding anyone. Eventually, one of them notices the four of you, the horse, and six mules standing off to the side.
The two men approach with smiles and broken English, "Hello there. Are you the men who are waiting for this equipment that will be given? Grieved we lasted so late. It has been a occupied day." He shoves a clipboard with the work order out with a pencil. "Sign for the cargo, and we will gives a hand that it needs unloading."

[[ In hopes of saving time, I will summarize what you will have learned from Maggie. Before you leave her to rejoin your fellow PCs I will require a CON check to determine the length of time you, uh... spent.]]
Maggie seems like a very pleasant girl, if not overly smart. She explains during your time together that the Nazis smell like liverwurst sandwiches sometimes. She has seen the Nazi CO just one time, but that was enough to last her her lifetime.
His name is Karl Deitrich and she didn't like the way he looked at her. It made her feel as if she were just an insect to him. He came to the brothel looking for a few of his men who had been spending time there, and he was furious for some reason. Perhaps they weren't supposed to be there? He beat up one of his men, and struck one of the girls who asked him to please make it stop. Mama Ray witnessed it too.
Regardless, he left with the first platoon that left for the jungle, and hasn't been in town since. Good riddance she says.
[[ If there is anything else you would like to ask, go for it. If not I'll just take that Con Check, and I will tell you briefly how everything went, and how long you were gone for...]]
Smiling at Esteban's surprisingly insightful comment, Loder replies. "Sí, usted es útil. Estamos entrando profundamente la selva. Tenemos una guía para ayudarnos, pero podemos necesitamos ayuda con las mulas y la información local. Preguntaré lo que piensan los otros."
Turning his head to look at the truck, Loder spots the man with the clipboard approaching. "Yes, we are waiting for our equipment. You're just in time!"
Dr. Loder signs for the goods and turns to Eisen. "Any sign of the others? John's inside, partaking of the local 'hospitality'. Paco and Esteban have gotten us a half dozen mules and want to know if we need any more of their help."

Eisen sighs; well, he couldn't really expect more, at times like these, when it may be the last woman he feels. After being on a ship that long. And of course, because they had something to do, so the universe had to tip his hormones. At the same moment that he goes forward with the clipboard, he responds to Loder, quietly to soothe himself, "We just need help to get them onto the mules. After that, once John's back, we should be on our way... I hope he's not... long lived, as it were... I don't like the idea of having to wait too long." Signing and handing back the clipboard, as well as feeding a coin in tipage to the delivery guy, he starts to move everything onto the mules, keeping a special eye out for a cream colored tarp, to make sure Rouseau's guns got there. Always good to have heavy arms....

Nearly a half hour has passed since Sgt Kestrel went inside with the brunette woman. Gear had been transferred from crates to mule-friendly sacks, for easy carrying. The League certainly outfitted your expedition fairly well. [[ See Game Props & Notes for a complete listing of gear! QUICK LINK ]]Afterward the men in the old-jalopy of a truck drove the vehicle away, leaving a thick plume of exhaust in it’s sputtering wake. Just when you had started to debate whether to go in after him, Sgt John Kestrel comes out of the front door of the ‘Hideaway’ with a smile on his face. He certainly has a glow about him.

The three of you (Loder, Eisen, and a relaxed Kestrel), joined by the brothers take the leads of the mules, and begin to make your way back to the Pulpit cantina. Your progression slows as you maneuver the beasts through the marketplace.
Finally, like a bubble that is popped, you reach the other side and emerge from the throngs of people.
You pass by the sign with the painted hand once more, as you near the vicinity of the palm reader’s place. A small boy sits on his front step with a pig in his lap. He waves as you pass. Esteban returns the favor.
Another block, and once again you stand outside of the Pulpit Cantina where 'Bones' and Max await.
