I used to work at a copy shop ten years ago, and one of my favorite regular customers was a man named Richard 'Dick' Shaneline. He was a WWII Navy Photographer, and a really awesome old dude. 'Dick' was a very popular nickname during that era! (even thought now it just means dick.lol)

Some OOC questions:

1) Do we have any information on our employers and their organisation the  League of Nations?

2) What do we know about the political situation in Guatemala. Who rules? How is his relationship with the Germans?

Some OOC questions:

1) Do we have any information on our employers and their organisation the  League of Nations?

2) What do we know about the political situation in Guatemala. Who rules? How is his relationship with the Germans?

1) I've added the wiki link for the League of Nations in the Internet Resource section.
League Recent history:
...As the situation in Europe deteriorated into war, the Assembly transferred enough power to the Secretary General on 30 September 1938 and 14 December 1939 to allow the League to continue to legally exist and to carry on reduced operations. The headquarters of the League, the Palace of Peace, remains unoccupied.

In this version of history, a secret multi-national committee was formed to key a close eye on the Nazis interest in the occult. You'd been contacted by mail, then members of the committee came to meet with you. Any looking into the background of these men has shown them to be legitimate members of the LoN and prominent in their own countries as well.Though the LoN is clearly faltering in strength at this point, some members are still striving to do what they can for humanity.

2) Guatemalan Knowledge:
Once the site of the impressive ancient Mayan civilization, Guatemala was conquered by Spanish conquistador Pedro de Alvarado in 1524 and became a republic in 1839 after the United Provinces of Central America collapsed. From 1898 to 1920, dictator Manuel Estrada Cabrera ran the country, and from 1931 to 1944, Gen. Jorge Ubico Castaneda served as strongman.

Much of South America was friendly towards the Nazis, in this version of history I'm extending it into Guatemala. Jorge Ubico Castaneda has no problem allowing Nazis on Guatemalan soil. Greed and Strength are high up on this dictator's list. [EDIT: I screwed up earlier in my editing, I have fixed my grevious error of who was in charge of the country. Sorry! If you don't know what I'm talking about... then I said nothing just now. Nothing to see, please move along. Wink]

Well, my five days of not having to work is finally at an end. It's just after 8AM as I type this, and I'll be at work in an hour.

If your characters would like to discuss options with each other you can do so before the ship arrives in port (in Real-Time I will write it arriving in about 12 - 15 hours from now, so you still have time to get posting in.) Alternately, you are welcome to write about your characters heading to your small cramped quarters on the same floor that you are on now, to gather your belongings.

In addition to you, there were at least another 8 passengers on board. These folks have taken about as much interest in you as you have in them. Multi-ethnicity, many of whom are from various Caribbean islands.

Basically feel free to write. If anything doesn't jive for some reason, we can fix it later. In-Game the Kingston Queen will be arriving in port and docking in about 15 to 20 minutes!

I hope that everyone is having fun so far! I know that I am. I think that we have a really good group here, and I'm glad that we have so many active participants!

I'll be home from work and online in about 6 hours time, so if you have any questions, I'll address them!

character updated on having 12 sticks of dynamite instead of 6 because I just saw in the SRD that you get them in a package of 12 (and I paid for 12).

I'm having fun, don't worry!

I'll almost be sorry to change to a new character once the "real" campaign starts, I'm getting into my character's dark personality.

I been thinking about these more modern/proper characters a lot lately and have even been drawing up ideas and rough character sheets, but with nothing to work on about them all I can really do is do a rough draft. I enjoy creating characters  Big Grin are you going to give us any hints about the future chars or just leave us hanging till we finish the prologue?

I love this campaign its awesome I only wish we were sitting round a table rather than staring at a screen lol
