You make a party of up to 4 characters. You have 18 divine ranks to split among them. Characters with divine ranks are capped at 70 CL/HD. Characters with divine ranks also get 5 free LA.

Non-Deity undead, magical beasts, Aberrations, elementals and constructs are capped at 100 CL/HD. Mortals are capped at 50 HD and get 5 free LA. Both use 25 point buy. DvR 0 received from a class or racial ability does not impose this cap. Your deity can make your other party members their proxy for a nice bonus.

So you cannot have an 100 HD dragon unless you find one without a CL modifier. You can have an 18 DvR Deity riding a 100 CL dragon.

Speaking of which, y'all want Brass dragons. Lowest HD at Great Wyrm, so they've got the most room to gain extra CLs past the 19th all metallic dragons have at Great Wyrm.

The Abyss is, AFAIK, infinite.

I meant Dispater! THough one of my original plans was to use the... weird... extraplanar traits of the Far Realm to prevent Dispater from ever existing, by constantly shifting planes between Dis and the Far Realms (Epic spell, most probably), and killing Dispater before he gained cosmic power. I scrapped it as unfeasible.

A reasonable thing to do, otherwise the challenge would be close to impossible.

It would require time travel capability on the challenger's part, and probably a scheme that makes Primer look simplistic by comparison. It's probably actually easier to do this the "direct" way, yeah.

 I certainly find this maddening. Its seems to be such a farce. If I recally correctly wasn't there things like "darkstalker" feat doesn't work. etc.
  This whole "challenge" always strikes me as such a farce. I suppose its the part of me that just isn't willing to accpept "diecfreaks' rules as being anything worth really sitting down to learn. Couple that with all the limitations the various dm's have put out there. That is to say not particularly Tshern but the dude before him and the dude before that. You're stuck dealing with arguments like foresight vs minblank, and if its not gonna end in your favor typically. I reminded of "I know the games rigged, but its the only game in town."
  No ones ever going to fix it because its rigged is such an poor non amusing way.
Lastly... there really aren't prc/class combinations enough to make something like this work because the game was never intended to do this. Its not D&D but some Magical Tea Party with #'s ^2.
Plus all the T.O. Stuff is banned and that's really where this scenario promptly goes.

Tshern's been pretty reasonable, at least. I can't speak for the other DMs, under whom I never tried anything, but Tshern's banlist is pretty much only stuff he doesn't have or stuff which is widely recognized as top-tier TO, IIRC. I mean, the TO stuff is kind of "meh"; on the one hand, Dispater gets access to all sorts of shiny toys (the most annoying of which is his lifespan; honestly I'd prefer to see it run with a deity who ascended or was born into the universe at the same time Dispater first became a Lord, with the stipulation that your character not have begun plotting to destroy Dispater from the start), and it'd level things a bit if you were able to use TO loops to gain superpowers as useful in attacking Dispater as things like the Iron Tower are in defending him. On the other, it more or less means every challenger is Pun-Pun or some variety of Pun-Pun-killer build if they want a chance of succeeding. And his calls on in-game interactions tend to be of the "err on the side of not creating obnoxious interactions", which is fine by me since any ridiculous combo I discovered would also be known to Dispater, in all likelihood.

Although, I will say this. If Dispater has any abilities that increase his rolls on Rank checks, I think it'd be only fair to allow players access to precisely the same shenanigans. I don't believe this is the case, though; he SHOULD be rolling with the standard +18 (plus strata modifiers, if you're insane enough to be going in there with anything other than a Greater Deity), or in other words you've got an even chance of beating him.

Dispater has two abilities that increase his rank checks. The first is that when he is on Dis, he acts as a cosmic rank 18 entity, not as rank 15. Then there is the bonus he gets regarding manipulating his divine realm as in Dicefreaks deity rules.
