My campaign has some druids who are devoted to the balance between negative and positive energies.

They tend to focus on taking out trolls more often than destroying undead.  Positive energy is more prevalent in the material plane.

In extreme cases they'll animate large numbers of undead just to bring the negative energy quota up to par.

I've also nixed the alignment restriction since I see Neutral good as being just as extreme an alignment as Lawful Good, and the justification for the alignment restrictions paints neutral X or X neutral alignments as being wishy-washy.

well i should see that dm some time this week and will bring it up to him before i release the kobold.  I also will be talking to him about some other issues that i noticed but didn't want to bog the game down with, some of which are just new DM mistakes.

if he decides to keep ruling some things how he has so far then i will show him the error of his ways, main rules problem is another player is a cleric and has been using reach spell without changing the spells level or preparing any spells before hand so if he decides to let that stuff fly i'm getting some metamagic feats and not increasing my casting time since i'm a sorcerer.

Clerics and Druids are like the 4 and 2 in 42. Together they are the answer to the ultimate question in D&D.

I see most of every ones points here. Being that there is positive energy there must be negative, making in a force of nature in a way therefore making it natural to me. Really this does fall on to each DM individually to define being a flavor issue and not a word of law. Druid alignment really the only thing to be questioned as far as what is acceptable use of such spells by which alignment. I say no good druid could ever create undead and wildshaping into undead is not the same thing. But that's just what I would say if this came up in my game.

well the druid character was evil, but it doesn't matter now as the player has pulled that character from the game. They really wanted to play an evil character that was changed to good through play and it wasn't happening, mostly because the strongest players in the party weren't playing good characters.
