Via googling for something completely unrelated, I found this old webpage, which includes the following awesome sword.

Quote
Singing Sword: These silver greatswords are believed to have been created for use by the Harpers. When drawn, they sing loudly and constantly, although the singing can be countered normally by a skilled bard, a silence spell, and so on. As long as the bearer can hear the sword’s song, she gains a +3 morale bonus to hit and damage (the sword has only a +1 enhancement bonus). Furthermore, she gains a +5 morale bonus to saves against mind-affecting spells and effects (and the only sort of emotion spell that can affect the wielder is rage). The sword’s song quells shriekers, negates the song effects of harpies within 100 feet, and once per day can act as an enthrall spell to creatures with 2 or less hit dice (and affecting them with a suggestion spell if they fail a second saving throw). Some of these weapons are intelligent and aligned chaotic good.

Caster Level: 9th; Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, bless, enthrall, suggestion, creator must have 3 ranks of Perform (the chaotic good intelligent singing swords must be created by a being of that alignment); Market Price: 9,585 gp.
So this is effectively a +4 sword (it gives you a continuous +4 to hit and damage) for under 10,000 gp! It can also be further improved via Greater Magic Weapon! And it automatically counters a bunch of sonic-based attacks, and more.

Check out the spectral blade as well.  Sneak ATTACK!

Spectral Blade: Fashioned from the bone of a creature that died violently, this appears to be just a sword hilt made of bone. When grasped by a creature a "blade" of light similar to faerie fire appears. The blade has no attack bonus but is considered a touch attack; any target struck is affected by a chill touch spell. Different varieties of spectral blades have been created to resemble many different bladed weapons, from daggers to greatswords.

Caster Level: 5th; Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, chill touch; Market Price: 10,000 gp.

The winged mask is a decent source of at-will flight for 36k.

The blade was reprinted in one of the FR books, though. I think Unapproachable East (and I think it had a different name, but same effect).

Actually it is UE. They doubled the price, though. And made it dagger only. It's on page 55.

Well, they are slightly different weapons...

Namely, one of them can be used to make an evil lightsaber.

Also reprinted in MIC p. 59.

I like it, though the caster level is crazy low, making SR really effective vs. it.  Assuming I'm reading the rules right, that is ...

Just wondering, is Caelic actively updating Bunko's with the suggestions in the latter parts of this thread?

Is this worth it ?:
Rod of Defiance, originally was 13,000 +2 heavy mace that reduces turn resistance by -4 for undead in in 30ft radius.

MiC version. 7,312, +1 Heavy mace that all undead in the radius are treated as having 4 fewer HD(minimum 1) for the purpose of turning.
About the same effect, but is the +1 enchantment bonus really worth the 5,688gp for a weapon that is more passive?

Must remember this for my Diablo 2 Javazon build.

Solo... Do you know of any places where anyone might have updated the Diablo II: Diablerie classes to, say, Tome of Battle style options and 3.5 compatibility and modernity? I would totally want to play a ToB style Javazon, with actual *useful* abilities...

Hell no. The MiC version is a LOT better. Who wants more than the mandatory +1 on any weapon? That's what GMW is for... especially since this is obviously a cleric weapon.

And the kind of a Cleric weapon that you just carry around instead of wielding it. You know, you got to wield that +1 Eager Warning/+1 Spellstrike Quarterstaff to get all the nice benefits.

Why is there even a question of which is more worth it, they have the same name and thus the MiC one presumably replaces it as it's a newer source. So by the rules you can't even buy the old version anymore unless you're not using the MiC as a source, and even then the question is still moot.

Because barring the DM being an ass, sometimes you can reason with him/her.

Also, there are some weapon/armor properties that share the same name and do ENTIRELY different things, with entirely different costs and are in entirely different books. Like that armor property in DotU that allows you to intimidate as a move action rather than a standard.

I was more asking is the new MiC version worth it for the basement, I saw mentioning of the older one from searching but no mentioning of the new version.

This ones seems iffy:
The Fist- a +1 adamantine  spike gauntlet, protection from chill metal and heat metal spells, 1/day swift extra 2d6 damage, knock prone, stun 1 round(Fort DC 22 to negate stun/prone) 7,005gp MiC 51/52

Another questionable one:
Mace of the Dark Children, +1 adamantine heavy mace, +3 profane bonus of rebuke checks, you are treated as 2 levels higher for how many HD of undead you can rebuke. 8,012gp MiC 53.

Either way, not everything is superceded by later printings. Most books with reprinted feats/spells/whatever warn somewhere that the versions contained therein supercede earlier printings, but they usually mention the source.
