Ok, so here's my intial plan.
Where you all come in, I'm not sure yet but we'll work something out.

Go to the place in question. Look around, take in general view.
Get to sleep.

Bind Malphas, scout around with the bird, includning inside the building the merchant is in. Little risk of a bird beeing as suspicious as a human snooping around.

Now, the less trouble the better. We'll have to decide upon sniping or not (maybe just the guards, since this isn't a one-man show..or rather two) when we have a more definite plan. Infiltrating shouldn't be a problem either, since there is one of those Charm, Psionic in our party. I'm just trying to figure out how to best use a team of one sniper, two short ranged and one....well, Gregory is a bit of everything.

Gregory is the kind of assassin that plans ahead, making calculations depending on his targets habits and routines.
He doesn't rush jobs, so he for one would appreciate some planning time. As would I Wink
And yes, I do feel his actions are appropriate for an Int 10 character, since I'd have Int 10 in D&D terms. So if I'm smart enough to figure that out and I'm a common guy, so can he. Smirk

Sounds like a pretty sound plan to me.  However, there is one issue we may run into.  Since the merchant lives in a really small town, we may attract some attention by showing up the day before and leaving the day of his assassination.  We don't want to attract suspicion, even if we're not coming back to the town again -- It's not professional.  Wink

I guess it really depends on how small a place this is.

A really small town probably won't have magical methods of discerning guilt, so investigations will likely be through mundane means.
