After they win at arson, they will get deported back to Kenya.

I don't know if its "gameology" per se, but how do you go about meeting a new gaming group?  It seems like the groups that have the most fun have known each other for a while, but what happens when you move?

This directly pertains to me, I relocated about 6 months ago and am pheening for some tabletop gaming!!!   On a brighter note, my tattoo artist plays, and they've only got 3 players right now, so I might be in luck.  Could be a good lil side-topic, though.

The key is to play a good drow ranger living about ground. He needs to duel wield scimitars, have a pet panther, talk like Captain Kirk, and sing like Barry White. I promise that everyone will love your character and pay you to play with them.  I would agree that this could be a good topic though.

Anyway, I just recently found this show and it is great.

Wrong thread and all, but what is wrong with the gumshoe system? I was looking into this until I read that...Am I going to waste my cash?

Actual table rule, we had to get Zeke to stop interfering [mock humping] with the person trying to take their turn.

The gumshoe system is not perfect, but it is superior to 90% of games available (it lacks the polish of Burning wheel or similar).  My main issue is with the essoterrorists setting.  So even said the game(essoterrorists) is worth buying and just changing the setting and the others are flat out worth it.

Gumshoe's better iterations are in Trail of Cthulhu and Fear Itself. The latter is really damn creepy. Mutant City Blues is also good, if your group is into procedural drama and your GM knows what he's talking about.

I might just have to pick it up as I've heard it handles investigation well and I haven't found a system that does yet. I might just have to steal that one mechanic.

A lot of people say one of the good things of Burning Wheel is that it has a social system which allows you to have rules for debates and disagreements, and other social things - which most systems don't.
You guys have never mentioned Exalted (2E) in your tirades against WoD, and I'm wondering if you've played it or checked it out - in my opinion, it's the game that WW got right.

So have you played Exalted, and what did you think of it - pros and cons.

Edit: Oh, those points are related because Exalted 2E has a social "combat" system that seems to work quite well.

We have not, and we know we should, it is in our plans to do so. IIf we don't we will have to shut up about WoD and nobody wants that .

How did this segment pan out? I kinda feel like it got lost in the shuffle. May 08 to now... did it just get not-done, or do you not feel you were given good questions to work with?

It wasn't really meant to be a segment, but a "as needed" thing.  I'd love to have it get attention again and have questions here that we could answer.
