Watching the World Burn in Magnificence

Sorry if this isn't the right board, not sure which is.

Say I have a human wizard. That wizard takes the evoker specialist substitution level "Any time the character casts an evocation spell with the chosen energy type, she casts the spell as if her caster level were one higher (affecting range, duration, damage, caster level checks, and any other factor influenced by caster level)."

So that's +1 to CL.

Say then his first two feats had the benefit "You cast spells with the fire descriptor at +2 caster level" and "You cast spells with the chosen descriptor at +1 caster level."

So that's a total +4 to CL, yes? Do they stack, or is it just the highest of them? Do I cast at level one a Burning Hands spell at 5d4 or 2d4? Just want clarification on the rules for bonuses to caster level.

THANKS!

Flay,

They stack, unless they come from identical sources or have the same bonus type.

I hope this helps.

Also note that those bonuses have no type, and thus are assumed to always stack, unless, as caedrus said, they come from the same source.

Wouldn't that be level 3? (even if you had Precocious, you'd need +6 CL to get that benefit)

Sunic may be more abrasive than sandpaper coated in chainsaws (not that its a bad thing, he really does know what he's talking about), but just posting in this thread without warning and telling him he's an asshole which, if you knew his past experiences on WotC and Paizo is flat-out uncalled for. Never mind the insults (which are clearly 4Chan-level childish). You say people like Sunic are the bane of the internet? Try looking at your own post and telling me you are better than him.

Here's a fun fact: You aren't. By a few leagues.

Spellgifted (Evocation) and Spell Thematics come to mind. Neatly achievable at level 1, assuming traits and flaws.

If PA is involved in any Wizard build, I have to chime in and suggest Focused Specialist. They combo so wonderfully together. Nothing says "Die" like a 1st level Wizard with an 18 in Int and 3 Glitterdusts prepared.

Nah, skip glitterdust and go color spray. at first level, anything above 5 hit dice is probably massive and slow, which means grease.

Color Spray is a 1st level spell, Glitterdust is a 2nd. I'd take three Glitterdusts and still have my Color Spray.
