I was curious on the grasping weapon property in the Adventurers Vault p. 70. Grasping weapon is : Weapon: Polearm, Spear Power (Encounter): Free Action. Use this power when you hit with the weapon. Pull the target into an unoccupied space adjacent to you. The target is grabbed (until escape).
A javelin is classified as a spear, if I buy a javelin with the grasping property and hit-can I pull the target 10/20 squares to me? This is a great item for any character to have, really helps finish off mages quick.

ala scorpion.
so you go rogue, for the SA and sly flourish.
pick the weapon prof feat to use the jav,
acquire the grasping jav, on a hit, you pull then back and SA them till they escape the grab..
or you just pull them past all your allies and let the opportunity the target as it passes.

Subjects of forced movement do not provoke opportunity attacks. Immobilized does not grant combat advantage.

Question: How do you pull without something to pull on? No clue. But the description says only "hit", and if you hit you can pull the subject.

Thrown magic weapons return at the end of turn anyway, so I imagine the harpoon bodily hauls the target back to it's owner like a dog playing fetch.

Yeah, it pretty much negates the benefits of flying, among other things.

oh, you could use that from the air... bring the target up 20 squares and drop em... that movement would be good for something.

Distance in Squares: The power you’re using specifies how many squares you can move a target. You can choose to move the target fewer squares or not to move it at all. You can’t move the target vertically. Curses. But... it simply means you fly over a pit, then pull the target adjacent. Desired effect achieved (edit: as long as the victim fails his saving throw to avoid going past the edge in the first place).

I don't think the Rouge part of that would work. For pretty much all of the Rouge attacks, you have to be wielding a crossbow, light blade, or sling. The javelin doesn't fit any of those categories.
You could do it with a basic ranged attack using the javelin, and get sneak attack, but you couldn't use any of the Rogue's powers.

Dna2 perhaps the "cheddar" cheese in this ... ... caused the ro-xx-e. { ... insert obligatory rouge rogue smiley face ... } Transfer Enchantment ritual, can put this on any weapon, especially if the Javelin can be used as both melee and ranged. (I doubt it, but hey you ... read I ... never know) ** Maybe WotC will get around to errataing this, but it isn't needed. No sane DM blah blah, but it is good CO-stuff.
