Invisible Castle needs to realize that I sometimes need to roll low. But not for strength checks!

Falling sucks. (4d6=17) HP: 10/27 - It's super effective!

Strength checks (1d20+5=7, 1d20+5=23)

Round 4/6 Ferocity.

Fortune had not been smiling on Ira, whom along the way felt some of the slick rock clip her head. As she hit the ground, the snow caved in around her. Disoriented, Ira made a feeble attempt to pull herself out of the suffocating snow, but the cold seemed to only pull her further in. In desperation, she begins to tug on the rope, unable to breathe, blood running down the side of her face.

If I can tumble to reduce a d6: Tumble (1d20+10=19)... that'd be 12 damage instead. The last die rolled on the falling damage was a 5 - click the link to see.

Otherwise ignore my ramblings. Just get me out before 28 rounds pass - I'll be sickened by then.

Tumbling into the deep snow, reeling from the fall, Caden shakes his head and tries to get his senses togehter.
Realizing what have happened, he draws a forced breath to melt the snow covering him.

What the hell weighs 176 pounds on top of the 200 you normally weigh? Big Eyes From an avalanche to a fall... well, looks like the forces of good could have been TPK'ed by an act of nature.

Unless if someone has feather fall, of course. And is able to cast it twice. Twitch

What weight 176 pounds?
Well... I counted Canere and Caden both, in case his strenght check wasn't enough, continuing the line of thought you started.

So, myself I weigh 236+X all in all.
I just gave the numbers so Strat' could have either result ready, regardless of Ira's sucess or not.

Damage: 11 taken, so 39/50 HP remaining.

Standard Action to use Breath Weapon, I assume I don't need to roll 46dg Fire damage to melt the snow

Canere's eyes scan the chaotic aftermath of the avalanche. He first checks for his companions, seeing Caden emerge from the snow, Canere follows ths other end to where it disappears under the snow. Caden, get over here! Canere yells as he begins digging at the spot.

As Canere looks about, a jet of flame brusts out illuminating the immediate area. Rising, Caden appears, a small gush of blood slowly trickling down his brow. It mingles with the water from the melted snow. All in all, the Dragonfire Adept looks nothing like a proud adventurer and everything like a bruised and wet, as well as annoyed, ugly drunkard.

Shaking his head and hearing his compaion cry out, he squints his eyes and marches foward.
Stumbling through the snow, bright crimson flames spread out over the digging Canere, enveloping him and the snow.
As the super-heated flames hit the snow, vapours of steam begins to appear as the snow quickly melts. Remaining unharmed by Cadens flames, Canere's closer to getting Ira out of her perdicament.

Canere looks into the hole to discern Ira's health. Seeing her to be whole, he reaches down a hand to help her out. When/If she takes his hand, he'll burn another of his belt's charges to heal her.
After that, Canere assesses himself to see what he lost in the fall. Or more truthfully, to see what remained on his person.
After that, he'll be taking twenty on search checks until he finds all his stuff.

What little air remained underneath the snow was quickly consumed, and while Ira's first instinct was to struggle, past experience told her to keep still. Hearing her comrade's muffled voices was perhaps the only reassurance she could give herself, but fortunately the snow burst before she had too much to worry about. Overburdened and exhausted from the combination of wet clothes, snow-filled mail, extreme cold, and thinner air, Ira recieved Canere's help. Drained of energy, she tumbled out, ending up on all fours, coughing. Taking yet another bit of aid from Canere, she thanked the Skald, unable to raise her head up.

"Thanks Canere. That was... uncharacteristic of me."

Pulling herself together, she began to hurriedly take off her armor. The cold hadn't left her and she prioritized keeping warm over recovering her lost possessions, if they indeed were scattered amongst the snow. As the black chainmail came off, it immediately returned to its normal state, that of a silvered chainshirt. Huddled against the stone wall, she would stay there for a bit before searching the disturbed snow.

This assuming that they recover Ira, of course. She's taking a 5 minute break, to not be sickened. That and to not suffer from wearing metal when very, very cold. Then of course, taking 20 on search checks. Thank god search checks are Int based.

Heads up - I'm posting from Tianjing, China. Internet access will be sporadic... and probably nonexistent for 3-4 days after tomorrow.

Dug from the snow, Ira still felt the white damp melting inside of her clothing, chilling her body and stealing the heat from her limbs. Shivering, she looked at the others, asking for a warm blanket or some way to heat her against the deep snow. Caden and Canere came over to attend to her, before turning to look at the deep mound of snow that covered their belongings.

Search scores please, and how long do you want to spend searching?

"Ye ok lass?"

Caden looks at Ira for a second or two, then he turns to look at the mound.

"Well, that big pile 'o snow ain't gonna give me my things back anytime soon."

With those words, he goes striding towards it, engulfing the mould in flames to quicken the search.

Yeah....finding my stuff. Good idea.
Considering that our equipment also is protected by my Endure Exposure, I'll go about melting the ice with my breath weapon. I know it's a lot of snow, but it'll make it easier for my companions to search. Then it's a 20 on my search check all in all, if I'm allowed to take 20 and combine a Search with my Breath Weapon. Fussy rules, but it should make sense.
I'm trying to find my things that's gone missing. I can immagine my shield and my backpack (containing my rope) primarily. Hopefully my dagger, my valuables and my everlasting rations stayed put on my person considering the latter two are inside my clothes and the former is straped in its sheath. The dagger have priority.

Lost items would be anything that could fall out or off: backpacks, weapons, stuff hanging from a belt or strap.

Canere pats Ira on the shoulder reassuringly before going to search through the snow for his belongings.
Taking 20 gives a score of 20. Canere will be looking until he has at least his blade, his bow and arrows, and his various scrolls and potion.
EDIT: Also, his harp...

Ira nodded at the two, feeling humbled and embarrassed by the attention. After about a minute or so, she attempted to get up, but the strength had been sapped from her. Thankfully, she didn't feel too cold, and it didn't take her long to smirk at the dragon magic protecting her. Watching her comrades work at searching for their belongings summoned up her spirit and before long she too began the long search for her missing belongings.

Ira keeps most things in a sack, so it should all be together. What's also missing is a waterskin, a whistle, and her two masterwork tools.

Also, any verdict on the usefulness of tumble to cut fall damage? I'm at 17 HP without the tumble, 22 with.

Let's see. My coins and gems wouldn't go missing, since they're inside my clothes.
My cloak, DSC, armor and general outfit would stay on.

My shield, my dagger, my backpack with the rope in it and my everlasting rations would then be valid subjects for dropping.

Just about everything. Her armor and clothes aren't dropping, but what is a possible drop:

Cloak+Mask (MW Intimidate tool), Sack (MW Disguise kit, Rations (3), Grappling Hook, Whetstone, Mirror (small steel)), Signal Whistle, Glasses (MW Spot tool), Waterskin. Along with weapons... 1 MW Bastard Sword, 3 Daggers, 1 Cold Iron Dagger, 1 Silver Dagger.

Although, at least two of the daggers are in hard-to-lose spots (bootstrap and underneath armor), seeing as they're "last resort" weapons. The cloak might be tough to lose.

With Caden's burning, the search through the snow went well, although the pace was slow, for tonnes had fallen in the avalanche, crumbling and tearing down the cornice that had reached from the edge of the cliff. Dark earth was scattered through the snow, turning into a muddy pit as the breath seared across it.

The light was failing, and while almost all of the items lost in the fall from the cliff had been retrieved, their food was lost in the deep snow, and a cold wind had picked up, whipping through the long valleys of the mountains and scouring the slopes of snow, slicing it through the air as the temperature plummeted with the lost light of day. It was clear that shelter was a necessity, for otherwise it would be dangerously cold.

Their toiling was fruitful, but Ira, noticing the red glare of the sun and the first pangs of hunger, stopped the hunt for their rations. While she had recovered her glasses, donning them did little to find an alternative food source. And she was no expert survivalist, at least when outside city walls. Turning to her comrades, she called out for them.

"Canere! Caden! Perhaps we should be concerned moreso about finding fresh food and shelter soon! Rations are finicky little things that are hard enough to recover and easily replenishable at town. Should the snow strand us, I fear that Caden's magic may not be strong enough to keep us from freezing."

Ira walked back to meet up with her comrades. She had donned her chainshirt again, and while she wasn't at her best, Canere's healing had most certainly kept her on her feet.

So I'm assuming we recover everything but our rations? Not too bad, though the fact that this is a barren tundra doesn't help in terms of hunting for food. Did we find the corpse of the creature we killed?

I'm not going to even bother attempting a Survival check - don't even have it trained. Though, I will assist someone, if need be.

Everything but your rations currently. You could still find the rations, its just a cold night is coming on. Cold being below freezing or worse with wind. The corpse didn't tumble down the cliff, but it would be fairly easy to find above.

Alright, we can't keep looking for those rations... Canere says, we're lucky we didn't lose more in that tumble. We're going to need to find some shelter for the night. Then something to eat... Canere begins looking for such a place, as well as any form of nourishment.
Survival check 1d20+1=13
Spot would be 2 more than that, searcvh would be one less...

The coming night proved to be terrible for Ira, as her sight in such conditions muddied her attempts at helping Canere in any way.

Epicly bad assists don't do anything, but thankfully they're just assists. Regardless: Survival Assist, Spot Assist (1d20-2=1, 1d20-4=-2). Wis-based checks are not Ira's forte.
